Josh ~ Prior to surgery (I am almost five months post op) I heard many mixed things on Chantix, and decided to try it. I was very successful with it and quit smoking on day nine of being on Chantix. I will say it came along with side effects like very hard time sleeping, and nightmares but I found it well worth it. If you start to pick up the bad habit after surgery then Chantix will not work as post op bariatric patients usually can't consume enough food to take the medication. Hope this helped and best of luck to you! :-)

Just took an updated photo earlier, figured I would share it

I have more testing on Wednesday, hopefully some answers then. Overall I feel good. Time will tell though, time will tell!
-
Yay!! Congrats to you! Keep up the great work! Doesn't it feel just beyond amazing?!?!?!
-
Feel better! Dehydration is a b$&@&!
-
Well they hydrated me as a precaution but once blood work came back it turned out that my electrolytes and what not were PERFECT! As I said, I think my doctor is a bit over worried. Keep in mind I did have a large amount of my stomach removed so obviously I'm not going to be able to eat dramatically at all and I would be more sensative to some foods. The doc threw in a comment towards discharge that with the percent I have had removed she felt it was normal what I am experiencing. Next week will tell us a little more.

Left the hospital because they are tools. Will just go back Monday for the test that I need. Not happy with Albany Med at all
-
Currently at Albany Med getting hydrated. I am dehydrated so once they hydrate me they will be doing some testing. Will keep you posted.

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

Sleeve four month ago, October 7, 2013 and down over 100 since day of surgery. -
Yes, without a doubt it is 110% normal! I was the same way and when I woke up from surgery within hours was like 'all this anxiety and worrying, so wasn't worth it'. It's totally normal, it is a life changing surgery. I am four months post op and it is the best thing I have ever done.
-
I was told by my doctor to wait 3-4 weeks unless I 'felt up to it' sooner.
-
Misread your post, sorry. Well it seems they feel I should be able to eat more then what I am, and that I am ot 'sensative' to to much. I personally thought this was normal as from friends that have had it and through postings, but they feel it is a complication. My so called sensitivity to what I thought to be may be certain foods, seems to be a problem. Four months post op and I don't eat more then the size of a quarter, or at most half a gold ball size. They feel I should be able to tolerate more foods at this point and take in a little bit more, as well as not have a sensitivity to so many things. Only time will tell. IF my pouch is to small, then it will pretty much just have to stay at that size, if it is something else or a combination of that and something else then whatever the other part is could be fixed, such as if it was the pipe from throat to pouch that needs to be stretched then they could do that. But from the sounds of it they are thinking it's my pouch, the pouch itself or some kind of obstruction inside the pouch. Who knows, who knows :/ Jules what do you do again at the hospital? Maybe I will be seeing you with all this testing I am having going on lol. Ya never know. I will def keep you all updated. Thanks for the support Jules, Brick and Cherrie whom has sent me private messages to check on me. Best I can do is stay positive and make the best of it
-
Honestly I thought I was. Idk, time will tell. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I keep the chin up and try to think of a positive of everything...Eventually I'll find a positive in this lol
-
Oh yes, very much so

How many sizes have you dropped?!?
rensterness replied to rensterness's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Fiddle~ I was at my personal goal ten pounds higher lol. I am comfortable at where I am now, but with only being four months out I don't have much say. -
Thanks for the thoughts Brick :-)
-
I go in Monday and then on Wednesday for more testing. Suddenly there is now something wrong which I had no clue of. They may have removed to much of my pouch, or something of that sort. Ugh :/ Had more blood work done as well. Testing all next week and when results are in they will determine if I will be admitted to Albany Medical or not, which it seems what they are leading towards. I will keep you guys posted. Once again....ugh
-
It is POSSILBE, not confirmed that I may be having a complication with surgery. I go in today for testing at Albany Memorial at 1:30. Not going to get into it because it could be nothing and just be a worried doctor, but we will see. Wish me luck :-)
-
Thanks Brick! That really means a lot of me!!! I'm glad your feeling better and many congrats on the weight loss!! Keep up the good work :-)
