Even with my struggles I still have no regrets and feel very proud of myself with making the decision to get sleeved that I have. This is day of surgery on left and the right one of yesterday, five months post op when I went in for testing. (I don't remember either of them being taken lol)

October Sleevers - Who else
rensterness replied to clefofcividale's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am awaiting surgery date. Confirmed yesterday that my stomach is now twisted. It is a result from losing so much to quickly. My body adjusted great to the surgery and I lost a lot quick. When this happens it is a risk I guess. Awaiting surgery date and it's pretty much getting the sleeve all over again, plus more. They will go in, take staples out, re staple and attach the new pouch to tissues me the wall of stomach to prevent any twisting. Hospital stay averages 2 or three days and same pre op and post op diet as when I originally got sleeved. Stressed and anxious but keeping the positive attitude of 'everything happens for a reason'. Thanks for everyone's support and I'll keep you updated when I get my surgery date. -
Don't get discouraged about your stall! As you can see stalls are common and then suddenly BOOM you start losing again. And always remember men lose at a quicker pace. Talk with your nutritionalist and see what they say. How much are you down since day of surgery? Don't get discouraged, keep a positive attitude and keep pushing!

Sorry to hear about your stall :-) Just keep a positive attitude! They said my weight loss is not a result of it at all. As I eat the things my stomach does tolerate and get in my protein and eat regularly and what not. They said that it can happen to people that lose weight really quick and I was one of those ppl I lost a lot really quick and that effects the stomach and the insides. After the surgery I will actually probably eat the way I have been since I'm comfortable with it and I'm getting my protein and what not. The stomach twisting is what is causing me to be sensative to a lot of foods. It's EXTREAMLY uncommon, but I lost a lot of weight within the first couple of months which had an effect on this happening. So the cause of it was actually losing the weight to quickly.

I want ppl who are pre op as well as post op to know this is VERY UNCOMMON and is VERY UNLIKELY to happen to you. It does have to do with having the surgery and wouldn't have happened unless I did, but the chances of this happening are very rare and cases are very, very limited. Just don't want viewers who may be pre op to see this and get worried and second guess themselves. Even with this struggle, NO REGRETS!

No stricture, stomach is unstable and twisted. They will go in, remove staples, and restaple my pouch against the wall of my stomach. It's the surgery all over again plus more. Very anxious ugh! Thanks for the thoughts!!!

I will be going in for surgery, awaiting date. Long day, off to relax.

Hey Barb :-) Well, honestly I though the sensativity to food was normal, I guess to sensative though. I'd day it started around Dec/Jan. Got the call today and go in tomorrow morning at 5:45am for further testing. I'll be put asleep fully as they go in and take a look and see exactly what it is that needs to be done from the two options they have. Ultimately I will have the final say, and be getting a second opinion. Staying positive :-) -

1.5 weeks out, first restaurant trip
rensterness replied to AmyV's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your surgery! I was taking down the wonton soup broth in the hospital, my fave! There is also a Swanson brother that is called Mexican Tortilla that is good, but you have to like spicy to like it. Had to change things up with the liquid part and not just stick with one broth. My personal eating plan, which to each there own, but mine is pretty basic, I get the really tiny can of Spicy Thai Medley Bumble Bee Tuna and have my cabinets stocked with that, that I usually eat about half or less (3 oz can so I eat about 1-1/2 oz) once a day as a meal. Breakfast is a , which I use VI Protein powder or EAS drink depending on the day. For my third meal it is usually fish, salad with tuna (I can eat VERY little salad) or something of that, or I go out with friends for that meal, and honestly I do tend to skip a meal and us stature it with a Choboni Tube Yogurt or a String cheese. If I go out, which is often, majority of the time I will get something from the kids meal, no fries and ask for them to wrap half the meal to go before bringing me my serving. I go out with a friend who has had the surgery a lot and we tend to order one thing and just pick. I drink a glass of Lactaid Milk with two scoops of Ovaltine once a day, and throughout the day in my bottle is Low Calorie G2. I use the Ab roller that I got at walmart for $20 and it is the EASIEST way to to sit ups and not like totally exhausting and do about 50 of them throughout the day. I use the WII Fit occasional but haven't lately. I am officially down 112 since day of surgery, October 7, 2013. I attached a pic before/after for you to see. Wishing you nothing but success!!!!! -

Post-op hospital stay
rensterness replied to KBlood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My hospital stay was three night and four days. Everyone has a different view on their hospital stay, mine wasn't the greatest or the worst. I brought my own protein shake which they fridgerated for me, and my friend brought me Broth from the Chinese place :-). They pushed the sipping and walking which was needed, but annoying lol. My pain was controlled with pain meds which I felt controlled them and made me more comfortable. This may be a TMI advice but I believe in being honest...if you feel like you have to pass gas, it may be a smart idea to sit on the toilet. I don't think much more needs to be said. Lol. I found out after surgery when it was to late about that. It seems more common then not, just not something that is brought up on the forums. Lol. I am now 5 months post op from the sleeve and lost over 100 pounds since surgery date. Wishing you nothing but the best! Keep is posted :-) -

Good for you!! I love your attitude and being social is beyond still possible after being sleeved, even within the same week! U go! Your doing fabulous and your frame of mind and thinking is awesome! Kudos to you!!! -
I will be meeting with Dr.T soon, just waiting for them to get my records from my doctor. My doctors are amazing, I just really need another opinion. Called doctor T office two weeks ago and still waiting for them to get my records. Had an in depth conversation with Chelsea from there. Going to call Cherries doctors this week, the drive would be worth it. Thanks guys

Good for you Amy! My husband and I went out a week after surgery with Friends and I was a big ol baby and just had water lol. I'm five months out and I can't do corn at all, but love my clam chowder, picking the potatoes out . I'm down over 100 pounds since surgery date of October 7, 2013. Welcome to the sleeve side and keep up the good work! -
October Sleevers - Who else
rensterness replied to clefofcividale's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I was sleeved October 7th, 2013 and down officially over 100 pounds since day of surgery. I am now just about 140 pounds. Turns out my stomach is 'twisting', and now five months out it is being discovered I may have to go in for another surgery, which have risks as any do, plus more. This is very , very uncommon. There are two procedures they can do, one of them doesn't even have a name which scares me and the second one would be to going through getting a Bypass. I'm VERY nervous and anxious. I will find out more on Wed. I go in for another endoscopy, this one I will be in the main operating room and put fully asleep, not local. If something needs to be done they will go to town if they feel it needs to be done immediately. My symptoms include (which I didn't find uncommon) excessive sensativity to foods and beverages as the main symptom. Really I thought it was normal. IF they have to do full bypass I am very much scared not only because it is the bypass but because I am already 20 pounds under my personal goal weight and my doctor says I have no excess body weight to lose as I have already exceeded that. I have included an updated picture. This is very uncommon and a lot of times there is little to no symptoms. Everyone is doing great, keep up the amazing work!
