UPDATE :-) Well as the proud person that brought us local folks together I wanted to give an update on my success with the sleeve. I was sleeved just about three months ago, sleeved October 7th, 2013. My weights loss is over 80 pounds. I am very excited, happy, feel amazing, more confident, out going, and for once I feel like a 'sexy man' lol. The first couple pics are day of surgery, second set are after surgery, my current photos. Sleeved: October 7th 2013 Start Weight: 250 Current Weight: 170 Below doctors goal weight, 10 pounds till I reach personal goal weight. DAY OF SURGERY: CURRENT:

I had Dr.Singh at Albany Medical Center and his practice is very strict with their guidelines. My goal before surgery was to lose about ten pounds. I lost 20, and was almost shitting myself the day before I was to get my date because I GAINED four pounds, which was by my own fault. They were fine with it. They said it happens and it would be different if I lost 20 and then gained it right back. A couple/few pounds here and there happen and are understandable. Hope this helped :-) keep us updated! Sleeved: October 7th 2013 Start Weight: 250 Current Weight: 170 Below doctors goal weight, 10 pounds till I reach personal goal weight.

I'm having trouble getting a protein source I like. HELP! !
rensterness replied to hpendleton0126's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Muscle Milk, following surgery my taste changed so had to switch, so now I use muscle Milk and they have new flavors out. Good variety of flavors! Sleeved: October 7th 2013 Start Weight: 250 Current Weight: 170 Below doctors goal weight, 10 pounds till I reach personal goal weight. -
My pre op diet was basic, 24 hour liquid diet. Surgeons do it differently, so if your told not to worry and no pre op diet, ENJOY! Wish you the best of luck! Keep us updated! :-) Sleeved: October 7th 2013 Start Weight: 250 Current Weight: 170 Below doctors goal weight, 10 pounds till I reach personal goal weight.

Hello! I was sleeved less then three months ago, October 7th 2013. I had the same problem as well with needing to constantly eat and I was never full. I was also a non stop total pig when it came night time...all I would do was eat eat eat. Now, almost three months out I am below doctors goal weight and don't eat constantly, actually I eat twice a day, very very small portions and FEEL full. I also don't snack at night, I don't feel the need, no feeling of hunger. I never really felt the full feeling until I was sleeved, it's amazing. I wish you the best of luck!! Hope this helped! :-)

Was sleeved a little over two and a half months ago, and have now reached doctors goal weight, am now 5'8 and under 176. As expected I've noticed my legs are skinny, but thighs are flabby. Just looking for some advice on any exercises as well as some tricks to hide it so I'm a little less self conscious about it. Thanks :-)

rensterness replied to TxCalico's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved October 7th of this year. I am almost three months out and BELOW doctors goal weight! First picture is day of surgery and the second one is from Christmas. -
I have officially reached BELOW doctors goal weight! Yippie!! Hope everyone is doing well! :-)

Well from someone, speaking of myself who has had dvt and a pulmonary embolism, and a stroke, and had the sleeve following these, I would recommend looking into it a bit more instead of just going with the can't have surgery ever or unless it's for an emergency phase. My programs rules are one year. Wish you the best of luck.

Surgery 11/5 And Pain Is Gettinf Worse.
rensterness replied to alimarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would recommend going back to the hospital if you are in such extreme pain. Discomfort and mild pain is normal, but it seems you are having pains that are not just mild or discomfort. -
I cannot consume it for once year. My program actually requires all sleeve and bypass patients to sign a contract stating you won't consume for one year. Every program is different though

Benjiboi ~ Thanks a lot for the compliments! I've really just stuck with everything the doctor has said, we'll besides when I snuck in that Almond Joy lol. It was a miniature one, I swear!!! I walk an hour a day and use the exercise bike at home one to three times a day for 15 mins at a time. I just got a membership for the YMCA here in Albany, New York and I'm going to go there because they have a pool and that's really the best excercise and way to tone. I lost 52 so far after surgery and 20 before surgery. I also only drink Vi protein powder with milk, Vi is AMAZING!!! I swear by it and it's great! You yourself are doing great! Everyone's different. I will recommend the Vi protein powder. I just started the walking a full hour a day and exercise bike this past week.
