Sleeve weight loss times?
rensterness replied to Llunker's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well as you may know men lose quicker then women. I am four months post op from the sleeve and have lost just over 95 pounds since date of surgery. My biggest weight lost was within the first three month, but still losing consistently. I can only go by my personal experience. It def varies from person to person, and how active you are and committed with sticking to everything your supposed to. Stick to what your told, as by your eagerness I'm sure you will and I'm sure within three months you will be totally amazed! Please keep up updated! :-) -
How much did you lose the first 3-4 months? I want to be out of the 200+ Club by summer.
rensterness replied to gohelpyourself's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is incredible! You rock Thank you BellaDonna!! :-) -
I don't find it to be a problem, I feel I look healthy very much so. If it came to the point of losing to much, then I would replace a meal with an Ensure Protein drink to maintain whatever weight I am at at that time. I am not under weight, nor do I plan on it. Attached is a pic to show my before and after and to ensure I look healthy and that things are 'good'. Their actually amazing :-)

BrickHouse and Jules you guys from the weight loss are doing great! I say we commit to our goals and really work at it! We can do it! We can do it! It's not like we are going over the top and cutting or adding something that's impossible, they are small things that will really push us to our goals!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
-
I wouldn't think I was able to either but this thing from WalMart is amazing and it was only $19.99!
-
Okay, Jules gave me an idea from a question she asked me. I was thinking maybe we could all share our updates..our weight before surgery and current weight, and if your pre op then your current weight and goal weight for day of surgery. Then let's do a little challenge for the week, ONE thing we TRY to resist, a food, bad habit, whatever it may be to help us get to our goal weight. Interested? Day of Surgery Weight: 252 Current Weight: 156 Goal Weight Originally: 165 Goal Weight Changed To: 150 I would like to and will try to do @ least one more 15 min walk a day as well as 15 more mins on WII a day.

Lol. Okay, usual day for me: *Wake up, have half a Protein shake *Do 25 ad sit ups with the Ad Roller ($20 @ WalMart) *Walk the dog, 15 min walk *Lunch I have canned tuna, Spicey Chai I believe it is called, I can is 21grams of protein *Do WII Fit, it makes exercising so much fun, never feels like I'm exercising. Usually 20-40 mins *Dinner I make the hubby his full course meal, and when I say full course boy do I mean full course lol. My dinner is usually a chicken ceaser salad, or a creek salad, or spicy tuna, turkey meal balls with shredded cheese on top, or something similar. *In evening I will have some kind of snack, varies from a couple sips of diet soda, or a sugar free pudding, or two chips with helluva a good dip. It is always my reward for the day. *Also on evening I do 25 more sit ups, and if I have the energy 15 mins on WII fit, and hop in bed. *When in bed I always make sure to have two things, first being my Camelbak Bottle filled with ice and Water, and my little five pound weight. As I'm watching tv I take the five pound weight (you can use lighter) and one arm at a time I do 10 side lifts, them front, then side, totaling 30 for each arm. All that why lying in bed. If I wake up in night I always take a few sips of water and go back to sleep. *I do go out to eat with friends and family and always stick with the kids menu, or I nibble off a friends plate. *When I feel the need to snack I eat peanuts, I like the little 1.25 oz I believe they are of the spicy ones. I split the ones pack into two little containers so they are always around, and also snack on cottage cheese. No gym for me, no excessive work out, no depriving myself of something that is a 'shouldn't', I reward myself with a little treat every night. Sometimes that sip of soda is just the most amazing feeling! :-) I NEVER consume anything with 10grams of sugar, big no no and I swear that has been a big step in the weight loss. Everyone's program is different but I really swear that has helped. I don't do excessive exercise or deprive myself. :-)

Sleeved October 7, 2013 and down over 90 pounds! I now officially fit into men's size 29 jeans!!!!!! So exciting!! -
Varies on person. If you have a desk job then for me it would have been two weeks, anything more I would have said 4 weeks or so.
-
Ok, may sound kind of odd but I've been experimenting a little bit with skin tightening. I used Coco Butter and experimented with Preperation H, yes, Preperation H. I have been using it and it works A LOT better then the Coco Butters and what not. It may sound odd but I use it everywhere and I do notice the tightening. Just wanted to post that lol. It really works! Look in Sundays paper and or online for coupons for them and hit up price chopper for couple coupons or Shop Rite on one of their triple coupon weeks. Stock up! Lol. Jeeze, this is an odd topic

Yay! That's great news! Keep up the great work!!!

I love it! I'm 4 weeks out. Having snow trouble with food. I'm finding a lot that makes me sick. Protein and water intake is very good. I have a follow up today can't wait to see how far i have come. I already notice a diff in my clothes. Thanks for checking in!That's great! Let us know how your follow up goes! I'm four months out and still learning several foods that are no no's for me. Takes plenty of time lol. I used to have the most horrible fear of puking, now it doesn't phase me in the least. No way can I do sugary stuff, the slightest kills my stomach. Also, rice, sauce, steak, and the list goes on. Lol. I think I pretty much got my list of do's and and do nots at this point. Let us know how your follow up goes! Great news on the noticing the change in clothing! That's amazing!

2 days post op concerns...
rensterness replied to gohelpyourself's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just reaching four months out and I still have problems occasionally with my bowl movements as I did after surgery. I take Equate, walmart brand stool softener daily. The percentage of your stomach you need to find out directly from your doctor. A lot of people will give you the answer of 1/3rd, but percentages for different programs and per patient requests varies. Your doing great! Welcome to the other side :-) :-) -
My Surgeon does not require 2 week pre op liquid diet?
rensterness replied to VegasGuitarGuy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not required to do a two week diet at all. The day before I was allowed liquids, that was my only restriction. I am almost four months out and healthy as can be and my surgery obviously went fine. Down over 90 pounds since day of surgery. Different programs have different rules. Just follow your program and everything will be perfecto! Best of luck to you and hope for updates!! :-) -
why is tea or milk not allowed after sleeve.
rensterness replied to hopeful2 be slim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me tea and coffee were not no no's, BUT they were not allowed to count towards my numbers towards consumption of liquid for the day because they we categorized as a diaretic. -
How was the sleeve? How has everything been for you? Update?! :-) :-)
