    Adjusting the BRAIN along with the band...

    I'm sad to say I think the head part of this battle is always going to be with me. Kind of like an alcoholic who has stopped drinking. I could slip back into my old bad eating habits in a heartbeat, if I didn't have this band around my stomach. I haven't even gone near ice cream or chocolate since July. I'm sure they would slide right on down, so I don't dare. If I ever start there may be no stopping me! Yikes, it is scary.

    Candle, you've done great so far. Don't beat yourself up over three pounds. Like you said, it could have been a lot worse. You've been on vacation and now you're back to business. You'll have those three pounds off in no time. Good luck on your fill. I hope you get some restriction the first time!

    I walked for just 37 minutes today. I've actually started having some shin pain. I don't know if its from the new walking shoes or because I've been pushing myself to walk faster and longer. Either way, I'm doing more stretching and going to slow down for a few days. I still want to make the Oct. challenge though so I've got to keep walking! 16/20 Days of Exercise in October

    Hey Alex. I'm sorry to hear about your fill delay. Maybe they will have a cancellation and be able to get you in sooner. I hope everything else is going well. Are you finding this re-banding to be just like the first time around or is it a whole new ball game?

    Good grief Judi & Salsa! You are busy women who start early and go full steam all day. No wonder you're tired. You also are still adjusting to this whole lapband thing. I say don't beat yourselves up over the exercise. Do what you have to do during the week and plan to "treat" yourself to a walk or a workout on Saturday and/or Sunday. Maybe on ocassion come home and change into comfy clothes and go for a walk before you fix dinner. It will all work out. Ya'll are doing great so far.

    Oh Salsa, I remember those days of never having a moment to myself. You're doing great and the fact that you're finding any time to exercise is amazing. My youngest is away at college and I have more time for me than I've ever had. I'm the one with no excuse for not getting in my exercise.

    Nana, I'm with you. In fact I'm amazed how much better I feel in such a short time. The human body is so resilent. Even after all the abuse (overeating & under exercising) I've done to my body over the years, it is responding very quickly to the improved diet and exercise. Instead of hating this poor body of mine, I'm trying to start loving it for a change.

    I Am Tired.....are You?

    Judi, are you getting enough protein? I've read other comments about lack of energy usually resulting from inadequate protein intake. I have actually had alot more energy since my surgery and weight loss. I have been walking regularly and I find that it really does energize me. If you are getting plenty of protein, how much sleep are you getting? Have you ever been anemic? I'd discuss it with your doc if it doesn't improve.

    Aug/Sept Exercise Challenge

    I finished out the challenge today with a 40 minute walk. That puts me at 28/21 days of mindful exercise! Congrats to all of us who have gotten moving. I think it makes a huge difference in how I feel and in the weight loss. What's the October challenge Band Chick?
