Your primary care physician when you return home should be the one handling your care. -

Hey!!! I was wondering how you have been doing since you got back home?? It was nice to meet you and your husband, wish it could have been somewhere other than the hospital or the Marriott lobby . Hope all is well for you!!

Someone put on another thread to tip the same as if you were here and that is what I went by. The bellboys a couple of dollars, room service the same, I tipped our driver $10.

July Sleevers - Post Here!
bulldog1973 replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi all!! I was sleeved 7/3 by Dr. Garcia and am doing great!!! Walking about 2 miles a day and just getting used to eating like a newborn. I had some cramping in my stomach every time I ate or drank anything for the first few days, but thankfully that has now passed. I am already down 16 pounds (8 pre op) and am so excited about the future. -
So glad I found this thread!!! I was sleeved a week ago, quit smoking 2 weeks before that, and haven't had a period in 6 weeks. I have my tubes tied and my boyfriend has had a vasectomy, so pregnancy isn't a concern. I keep waiting for it to show up, but.....

What about Dr Garcia
bulldog1973 replied to ca_medic5's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
If you go into Florence Hospital expecting a hospital like you see in the U.S. you will be very disappointed. It is an older hospital, but it is as clean as any hospital you will find. The equipment is older, but works fine. The staff is amazing, honestly. You don't see Dr. Garcia very much, but what you do see he is very, very kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Velazco is amazing!! She is the doctor who comes to the hotel and really answers most of your questions. And she has been sleeved also!!!! The anesthesiologist was great, more than willing to sit down and explain everything to you. The nursing staff, while not great with English, was very attentive and provided wonderful care. The Marriott was fine, your standard hotel, nothing special or fancy. Samuel, the driver, is awesome, also very funny and kind. However, he drives like a wildman!!!!! Lol, that is just the typical driving in Mexico. All in all, I was very pleased with the entire experience and would recommend Dr. Garcia and his team to anyone. -

What would you like to know? I was sleeved on 7/3 at Florence by Dr. Garcia. I don't think I could be any happier with the experience or the results. -

You will do just fine. I got released from Florence this AM and am back at the hotel. Just remember to walk, and walk, and walk, and then walk some more. The first 5 hours are the worst, once that is over you will feel so much better. -

Hi everyone!! Thank you for your thoughts of me, they must have worked because I am feeling pretty good now. The first 8-10 hours were the worst, I had terrible nausea (thank God for Zofran) and the horrible chest pain from the gas. The Doc pretty much told me I had to walk it out, so that is what I have done. Every 1-2 hours I get up, tie up my gown so my booty isn't hanging out, grab my IV pole, and down the hall I go. I usually nap between walks. I am feeling SO much better, it is amazing to me I just had surgery 11 hours ago. Next hurdle is the leak test sometime this AM, if I pass that then I can drink....very much looking forward to that. Ok, that's all for now, gonna hit the hallway for a bit. BTW, I am in room 11 if anyone here would like to say hi. -

I know she is here somewhere, but havent ran into her, hopefully will see her at the hospital. My nervousness is still here, but getting better. My boyfriend and I have been sitting here talking about our goals and the changes we will be making and it has calmed me greatly. Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts, I will keep you posted. -

Hi everyone!!! So today is the day. I have laying here since 5am because I an too nervous to sleep, but don't want to wake my boyfriend. Samuel will be here at 1030 to pick me up and take me to the hospital. So far everything has been very smooth and easy, I just hope that keeps up. Please keep your fingers crossed for me today. I am scheduled with Dr. Fernando Garcia on July 3rd. I can't believe it is next week, 7 days from now I will be in Mexico!!!!! -
If you are not super picky about times you fly and changing planes, Southwest will probably be your best deal. I booked from STL to SAN for $179 going out there then $169 coming back. Everyone else was 2-3 times as much.
