Lol.... That's a hoot.

I got tired of getting ripped off... Dr charged $25 an injection and I asked for a prescription and she refused. I "fired" her, started to see dr next door to her and got my prescription for injections and syringes. Doing it myself costs $1.50 an injection!!! I requested 3 month prescriptions to reduce monthly visits to pharmacy. I read several articles about giving yourself b12 injections and even watched several youtube videos of people giving themselves b12 injections. Every so often I will get a huge itchy welt at my injection site and have learned if I hold a nice cube on the area before I give myself the shot, I don't have the itchy welt. They are a piece of cake once you get the first one under your belt!

It's so interesting how all our drs are different. I had my band out and was sleeved at the same time. Best of luck to you all waiting... The sleeve rocks! -

1 Week out - Tired & Confused
Crazypants replied to phoeebs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also... Trust your intuition and body. It could be something easy to fix, like mine was!! When my energy dropped one week after, something just felt off.... It was not normal.... So I tracked myself... Getting fluids and Protein and sleep... Gave myself a b12 injection... That didn't fix it... TOOK AN Iron (didn't you say your cycle started??? You're losing iron then.... I got my cycle a few days after as well... Many women do) supplement and within an hour I started to perk back up. This same lack of energy happened to me this past weekend and because of a bout of food poisoning, diarrhea and then leg cramps I though, I wonder if it's low potassium so I took a potassium supplement and AGAIN.. Within an hour I started to perk back up! I had diarrhea constantly in the beginning. My dr had me take Imodium to stop it! You're losing all your fluids (of course you have no energy) if you aren't taking something like Imodium! I'm 5 months out and still need it once a week. I'm ridiculously in tune with listening to the messages my body gives me. If in doubt always call your doctor. Wishing you luck and healing vibes sweetheart!!!!!! -
Migraines?
Crazypants replied to kellymoon1383837853's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kelly! Hoping for good news in your case. Remember we are all different. My migraines are hormone (low progesterone) related and they are significantly less than before surgery. -
Sleeve on june 3...feeling fatigue, pale skin, no energy...
Crazypants replied to wpierce's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! Dealing with my second bout right now (since being sleeved)... I try everything until one go these things fix it. I upped Protein in my shake this morning... Gave myself a b12 shot... Still felt awful. Finally about an hour ago I took an Iron pill and a potassium pill and BAMMM!!! Started feeling better 20 minutes later. One of them was low! I wish I knew which it was because I was the same way... food didn't sound good. Didn't eat much yesterday. But after I took those two supplements I was able to eat and have an appetite. Good luck!!!!!! Sending you healing vibes. -
Dehydration? Help!
Crazypants replied to GlutenFreeSingleMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. A coworker did. Her urine color was practically brown it was so dark. Extreme fatigue. But the main symptom she had was pinching the skin on her wrist and it didn't snap back in to place... Her skin stayed pinched. She got 2 bags of IV fluids and felt normal again. Hoping you're okay! -
I haven't worn a MEDIUM since junior high!
Crazypants posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I've gone from an xxlarge to a medium shirt size and I'm only halfway to my goal. This sleeve continues to amaze me. Pant size... 24 down to 14 so far.... My weight in ticker is probably wrong. I only weigh at my dr office. PCOSers!!!!!!!!! We finally have a tool to help us! :) Good luck all. Crazy -

Seela. Exactly. Those giving orders never have all of the information and are making a lot of assumptions. Bless their hearts... -
Sleeve vs lapband...
Crazypants replied to Lioness813's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes, 11 days is good. I have had 6 coworkers sleeved and many were back at the one week mark. Some did half days for the second week. I took the full 2 weeks off more as a medical vacation than recovery. I could have gone back after 1 week. Recovery was easy for me.... like you said every body is different. Hope yours is too!! -
Smooth Recovery? Anyone?
Crazypants replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My recovery was a piece of cake. No problems AT ALL. I felt bad about how easy mine was when others had challenges. :/ This forum was vital when I had questions in the first few weeks. Love this place!! Good luck! Happy thoughts and prayers that yours is the same. -
self pay Houston Texas
Crazypants replied to jdelarosa's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Don't do the band!!!!!!! Lol. Same dr did my band in 2008 is no longer doing bands because of all the problems plus the excellent long term results from sleeve. I am sleeve revision self pay. Start saving for it if you cannot finance. I did credit care or care credit (zero interest if paid off in a year, I think?) Dr didn't finance me (paid that in cash) but the hospital did take care credit. Good luck with your choice. -
Surgery in the morning ????
Crazypants replied to KDCaballero's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck ladies!!! Excited for you and praying its an easy process for you. The minute I checked in at the front desk I asked if the anesthesiologist was there yet so I could be given calm down drugs... Lol..... The surgeon can get there whenever he wants. -
Sleeve vs lapband...
Crazypants replied to Lioness813's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Good luck with your journey. I'm a band to sleeve revision because I got tired of ER visits in 2012 because the band just closed on its own... Painful projectile vomiting damaging my insides. I always protected my port. If I exercised too much port was painful. Constant adjustments = time off work = copays.... The slime was gross.i had absorption issues. Lol Sleeve... 4 months out. Amazing. I have to take Prilosec 2 times a week but wahhh. I barely get to wear "new" jeans/capris before I have a buy a smaller size. I am down over 50... I think... I don't weigh.... I update my sig when I see my doctor. My dr did my band in 2008 and sleeve in 2013.... He doesn't do bands anymore because of all the problems he's seen!!! -
I was on bp pill... Stopped taking immediately per dr since my numbers were normal that fast!!! We may put me back on cholesterol med because of family genetics. :/ I didn't think of it until you posted.... Surgery gives me lots of acid so I take Prevacid. But not every day... 1-2 times a week now. Off metformin, anxiety med and one for depression. Saw many posts from people saying its normal to NEED the meds for depression after surgery. I finally came off that a month ago. Just work with your doctor, watch those test results and listen to your gut! My dr wants me on the antidepressant until March 2014... "Just to be safe" but when I saw her last time I said.... Seriously, I really don't need it. Also off my progesterone!!! I have two coworkers who were able to stop their insulin with weeks after their surgery. Trust your own path and your own timing!!! I'm very excited for you!!!! this forum and the support here answered sooo many questions but mostly those first few weeks after surgery.

When will i get my energy back?
Crazypants replied to tampa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ohh good suggestion on the b12! I have started b12 injections every two weeks because I also have a family history of low b12. I just checked my Iron bottle and it doesn't have a mg amount on the front. The back label shows it has iron 50mg and Calcium too. I just got it from the corner drugstore. -

Whats it like being under and waking up from surgery?
Crazypants replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's awesome... When they say your name and to wake up... Your surgery was perfection!!! I was groggy but mentally was thinking......... YESSS I'm aliveeeee!!!!! Lol -
MJ, I haven't posted my experience yet and currently tapping out letter by letter this post on iPad. Verrrry slow. I had/have the most severe case of pcos that my drs had seen. This surgery gave me my life back. No more blood sugar issues due to insulin resistance bc even my IR is gone! All gone. Off all meds. Hormones stable for the first time since it all started 10 years ago. The weight just drops off. Having the energy to walk or ride bikes is amazing. Like many other before me who said the facial hair issue didn't reverse... Mine didn't either but I will gladly take it. I don't follow the weight loss that most do on here... The weight loss although awesome was never my primary reason for the surgery. I only weigh at the dr office. I barely get a few weeks in "new" jeans/capris before it's time to drop another size down. Gone from 20 and am knocking on 12, only 4 months out. No more hot flashes or sitting under a fan at work.my nails aren't like paper anymore.. Strong and beautiful! My hair Changed too... Healthier! Let me know if you have any questions. This surgery affects each of us differently... Good luck.

What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
Crazypants replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's kind of a game for us now... the husband thinks it's funny that we can eat so cheaply (thanks sleeve) so I eat off his plate... 5 bites of steak... nibble the tomatoes from his salad and I am done. I order my own plate, it's something that will stay long fresh enough to get 4 meals out of it, kids meal or an appetizer. -
BTB! I'm in College Station! We have a fantastic half in December if you need a race. I may try both as well (with food/without) and see what my new normal is. And I will increase on hydration before. Your insight is so helpful. I'm just nervous and trying to prepare. The thought of dumping freaks me out. Bcsmarathon.com (they provide great ongoing info on their fb page too!) So thankful for your help and looking forward to sharing progress as I go.
