  1. I've read that B-12 can sometimes be the culprit of acne even though it's supposed to help clear the skin. It doesn't react the same way to everyone. I noticed the few times I quit taking the B-12 tabs for a period of time that my skin actually cleared up.

    Bruising very easy?

I was told by my physician assistant that it was due to a decrease in Vitamin K, which causes you to bruise easily. She told me not to worry too much about it and that if it got worse, they would have my levels checked. It's apparently a common thing with anyone that has abdominal surgery. Hope this helps.
  3. I don't have any major back problems but I did have problems with sciatica at least twice each year. Now that I've dropped some of the excess weight I haven't had sciatica in the past two years. Hope the surgery helps with your pain and back issues.

    Prozac and Gastric sleeve

I take a combination of Wellbutrin and Prozac. I'm not sure if it effects weight loss or not as I was on this for a time before surgery. I did lower my dose of Wellbutrin before surgery and increased the dosage on the Prozac. All in all, without the meds I'd probably be a complete ball of anxiety.
  5. I think this is just a part of adjusting to all the trapped air. I know the Gas X did help me. I can't think of anything else that I may have done to relieve the gas pains in the beginning. It does get better, though. I know I chewed a lot of ice chips in the beginning. Don't know if that would help you any.

    Tips on sipping?

It'll take a while to get all that trapped air out. Gas X really does help and was a life saver for me in the beginning. It does get better. Just be sure to get as much fluid as you can possibly handle.
  7. June 8, 2015 made two years post surgery. It's been a long and bumpy journey and I've been through some stressful and heartwrenching tragedies in the past couple of years such as my grandmother's passing a few weeks after my surgery, my sister's death this year along with a custody battle for her children with her ex-husband. Enough about that though. Old habits die hard and I've managed to gain a bit over the past year and am now trying to get back on the bandwagon. I'm not happy with the way things are at the moment but I know I'm the only one that can change that. I'm still having problems with protein intake as well as fluid intake. I didn't realize how bad off I was until I went in for a physical and did a urinalysis that pretty much showed just how dehydrated I have really been. This has really given me a reality check and I'm now trying to change and remain focused on my health in hopes of living a longer and healthier life.

    Acne

I think it's hormonal as well and probably due to pcos. I've always had a clear complexion and now I feel like I'm going through puberty again as well. I'll be a year post op in 3 days. I also have a sweet tooth now, which I didn't have before surgery. Figuring that is a big part of my problem as well.

    Bruises?

I have been bruising easily as well. I've even managed to bruise my chin today and have no clue as to how I did that. I'm beginning to look like a punching bag in certain areas. I try to take my vitamins every day but I do forget at times. I was wondering if it was a certain vitamin deficiency as well.

Post 1 year. NO more weight loss ?

I'll be one year post op on the 7th as well. I have been doing a yo yo routine between 243 lbs and 248 lbs since April. I'll admit that I have been leading a more sedentary life at the moment and could use a kick in the rear to start exercising more. Hoping that this is just a minor setback and will be back on track soon.
