    3 Week Stall

My week 3 stall lasted about a month. No kidding! I even gained a little. I have lost 45 pounds since 6/25, start of pre-op diet. Hang in there!

    Too tight? too short?

    It looks great. :-)
  3. I had 3 c-sections and I honestly thought the VSG recovery was harder. But, I didn't have a newborn baby to distract me either. Lol. :-) My doctor said the pain would be almost instantly relieved when the big stitch in the stomach muscle finally dissolved or disintegrated or whatever it does. For me, I think it took longer than I expected, like 3 or maybe even 4 weeks. When it happened, the 'dimple' in my side disappeared and the pain subsided.

    protein is hard to swallow

I am about 2 1/2 months post op and have a protein shake for breakfast every morning. I *love* the Syntrax double stuffed cookie flavor. It has 23 grams of protein and 100 calories. I make it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories per cup). It tastes like a melted Oreo ice cream shake (to me). :-)

    What are you eating pre-op

I'm post-op now, but my pre-op diet was: 2 Protein shakes 2 Protein Bars dinner Dinner was: 5 oz of lean protein 1 - 3 cups veggies 1 serving of healthy fat Pre-op diet was 2 weeks. Last day was liquids only (protein shakes). I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks pre-op. I didn't start any special diet until the required start date. :-)
  6. I had a stall that started about 2 weeks post op and lasted about a month. No kidding! But... I started losing again eventually and now I'm down 45 pounds since the start of my pre-op diet on 6/25/13. :-)

Can you send me the instructions, please? I am having the same issue. Thanks.

You've done such a great job! And you have beautiful hair. :-)

    This is fake right?

May 1st to July 9th. With insurance. :-)
  11. I like the grape, orange and coconut flavored ones. :-)
  12. My doctor wrote a prescription for Nascobal, but my prescription plan didn't cover it even with a prescription because it is a Vitamin. Without insurance, it is very expensive. Like $300 or $400... I have taken the sublingual B-12 from Trader Joes and also the cherry flavored one from Bariatric Advantage. The one from Bariatric Advantage tastes better, in my opinion, but takes forever to dissolve. The one from Trader Joes dissolves almost instantly. If you watch for them, you can also get deals on the B-12 injections on Groupon, Living Social, etc. Hope that helps. :-)
  13. I really like Isopure. Just wish they weren't so expensive. :-)

    Pre-op weight gain

I gained 7 pounds between my consultation and the first day of my pre-op diet. And then lost 15 during my 2 week pre-op diet. Only the last day was only liquids. :-)

    Bloated?!?

Yes. :-). They pump you full of air during surgery and it takes time to work its way out.
  16. My doctor's PA said not to "eat back" calories burned through exercise. I asked this specifically because of MFP.

    favorite NSV's/most anticipated NSV's

    Non scale victory. :-)

    How do I know fullness?

For me, I start to feel pressure. That's it. :-)
  19. My weight loss has slowed significantly and the PA told me to eat at least 800 calories per day. She first said between 800 and 1200, but when I asked her where to start in that range, she said between 800 and 900 (or 1,000 - I can't remember for sure). I'm almost 2 months out. This was at my 6 week checkup.
  20. Thank you for this post. I've been wondering about this...

    Difficult question to ask.

If she was burning fat and eating extremely low carb, the smell could be associated with ketosis.
  22. I was told that your hair gets thicker during pregnancy and then returns to "normal" post partum. This was pre VSG, though.

BMI 35 and insurance approved? ?

My BMI was 36.3 with high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I was approved by BCBS of TX. :-)
  24. Yes, I replaced my energy drink expense with Isopure. Lol. I haven't had an energy drink in 8 weeks. Giving them up was easier than I expected. I'm lucky in that I've always liked plain ice Water. :-)
