I had surgery Monday and I am having spasms. I am waiting for them to go away. Drinking warm things is better than cold at least for me.

I'm a nurse... I'm having my surgery March 10th at the hospital I work at. I also work 12hr shifts, at night. I am only taking 2 weeks off. I can't afford to take longer and I think it will be just fine. The people I work all know I'm having surgery and they are very helpful. If I need longer I know my manager will work with me.

Yes! But it gets better.. after month four was done I felt like things moved quickly. I'm scheduled for surgery 3/10 and now I dont know where those six months went

I can't sleep because I have my preop appointmnt today... I can't even imagine what it will be like the night before surgery lol

hang in there - it will be so worth it! I have already had my pre-op apt and it really was painless. I too worry about the nerves kicking in, but this is my second time around. I was approved and went in for surgery on 12-14-12 but they had to stop before they could complete surgery. So I have nerves about waking up with the disappointment of not completing the surgery again. Just keeping my fingers crossed that this time it will be completed and I can finally start this journey

never mind... I got my approval in 12 days from submitting to insurance just wanted to post an update incase anyone had a similar question

Same here... my surgery date is march 10th and my preop appointment is today at 11:15. I start my diet after that. I'm trying to view it as two weeks until surgery and then two weeks until pureed foods... it helps a little its nice to know there is someone else going through the same thing at the same time Good luck! -
I have my preop appointment tomorrow, 2/24, and am supposed to start my diet... very nervous. I am making the choice now, I'm not going to cheat no matter what... I'm going to do everthing they tell me to. Here's to setting myself up for the best possible outcome. I've been planning for this surgery since last July and now that everything is in place its starting to feel real... very nervous but excited at the same time. Advice would be very welcome and calming

Do you have your surgery date yet? I just got my approval as well and my surgery is scheduled for March 10. I start my pre-op stuff this Monday

I got my approval today for March 10 I start my pre-op diet on Monday... not sure of Protein source yet. The office has food/ protien supplements that they prefer you purchase. I'll know more on Monday based on what they recommend

Hi I'm new here and am considering getting the sleeve done. My insurance requires the consecutive 6 month weight loss program before approval so if I do have it done it won't be until January ish.... Since i haven't started the 6 month program yet. I just wanted to make myself known since mainly I've just been reading other's posts to get more info. Any advice is welcome

I have not had the surgery yet but my sister has...she said that feeling comes from too much acid in your stomach, her surgeon had her take a pepcid a day for the first three months and it really helped... Some people even have to take an antacid longer... Hope that helps -
Thanks... its nice to know that there are other people on here at about the same stage as me. I did end up calling today to start my six month program so I should be starting soon
