How?! I know I don't get enough everything I drink hurts my pouch.. I sip and try everything I can think of and it just makes my tummy sore for like 5 minutes. I'm constantly thirsty and I just cannot figure this out. Regular ice tea was pretty good for me but when I got decaf and used sweet and low, it hurts !! It's frustrating me to tears I don't want to go to the ER for dehydration but I don't want to sip and have a stomach ache for 5 mins and repeat.

Getting in your liquids?

I was curious about that, I think I will try something else and see if that helps, if not I will definitely be calling. -
Getting in your liquids?

I have had some decaf coffee with sugar free creamer and sweet and low, and it went better, but it still hurt a little. I haven't tried ice pops or other warmer liquids. -
I'm 21 and as much as I thought I knew and was prepared its definitely been hard to get use to all this. But I've read a lot of stuff on here that makes me feel confident that I will be happy with this in the future. So I'm just curious if there's any sleevers my age and how you have come to cope and how you feel about your sleeve? I'm 6 weeks post op and I'm still at the stage where I just wish I could eat how I used to lol but I mean at 21 and being almost 300lbs that is obviously not something I should ever need to do. I was required to lose 10% of my body weight in order to get my sleeve, so pre op I was 263 and the day of surgery I was 215. I've constantly questioned myself, thinking I should have not gotten the surgery and just kept going by myself, but me and my mother agree, I had the surgery as a prize, so if I didn't have that, I don't know if I could have lost all that weight. As of now I weight 197 and am insanely happy and can't believe I'm under 200lbs, I honestly don't remember the last time that I was this light.. And yeah that's sad saying that when I'm only 21. But again I'm still trying to convince myself that this is going to be a good change, and that going out will be possible again, even if I can't eat a whole plate like I used to. I just want some people my age to give me hope of my future lol

Its just one thing after another!

Lately I've been feeling really nauseous and eating seems l make it worse.. I have no doubt it has to do with Protein deficiency, but I've been doing my best to get in as much of my protein beverages as I can, though I am waiting on the protein shots my dad ordered. Anyway today I went to eat dinner and just had the worst chest pain! I only had one bite and chewed a lot, and I hadn't had anything else so I don't know what that's about?! I just had an upper GI done and they said my surgery was fine, so I don't know what the deal is with my stomach and chest is, and the doctor never called me to say anything after the upper GI.. Sometimes my doctor is like impossible to even get a hold of, I don't know what to do. My mothers upset cause she doesn't know what to do and I just feel like I'm at the end of my rope. I've been feeling awful for the past week now! I was fine last week. Nothing has changed! I don't get it! -

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I'm 5weeks post op. I actually got some Isopure but I'm afraid to drink it cause it says 100% whey Protein and on my two week pre op diet I learned the whey protein shakes were making me sick. And I agree that the protein shots I have now are body fortress and they are extremely bitter and not easy to get down D: Last time I took my nausea meds they didn't do anything for me But I plan on calling my doctor if things keep the route they are. But I pretty much stick to eating soup and other soft foods. -
So most things are difficult for me to drink, I'm 4 weeks PO and drinking most things generally hurts more than satisfies :/ I sip at propel fitness water and it hurts. The one thing I've found easy to drink is iced sweet tea, but my mother is worried that it can dehydrate you? Idk I'm just getting frustrated with all this and keep questioning if this was a good idea with all the difficulty I've been having. But I mean I know it's only been a month.. Things get better right? I won't regret this decision for the rest of my life! Lol

I'm 4 weeks post op and I was feeling great. Well the last couple days have been like completely awful, my stomach has been killing me, and my chest is in a lot of pain. I go for walks daily, and make sure I move around a lot. Anyone else have these issues?
-
Thanks so much everyone for your concerns! I went in and had an upper GI and the doctor said everything looked good with my surgery. My chest is feeling a lot better today, but my stomach is still really queezy feeling and eating is pretty hard for me, so I'm going to call again tomorrow and just ask for some suggestions, because I'm glad my surgery is fine but I don't know why all the sudden I'm so nauseous feeling :/

As of tomorrow ill be 3 weeks post op, my dietician has stated most things I eat should be sugar free, but she didnt say for how long? Now I have lost 50lbs before my surgery and never was on a sugar free diet so when my mother asked how long my sugar free diet should last, she gave a rather general statement of 'as long as you want to keep weight off' well I know from my experience I don't need to stay sugar free to be able to keep doing well. So basically I'm wanting to know if medically is there a reason for sugar free and for how long? Also am I never allowed to use straws again? Or is that also a temporary thing? I'm still hoping I don't regret doing this to myself since I was doing so well on my own pre- op but I'm determined I will see this as a positive thing for myself even though its so hard to get used to it all.

I just went for my first post-op surgery and of course I forgot to ask !! I want to go a Water park but I need to know how long I need to wait before I can go? I'm trying to call but I also thought i would ask here.

I've gotten sleeved on the 6/12 and plans were I would go home as of Friday, but they are keeping me till tomorrow- hopefully I can go home tomorrow.. I've been having pain mostly where my drain is. And I had a bad cause of nausea I'm still only on 60mL of Clear liquids I'm wandering how many of you have had such elongated stays? My nurses won't say much as far as what is normal, just that it is different from person to person. -
