I can't get pregnant and no doctor will even listen to me about fertility. They all say lose x pounds and come back then. I've been with my husband for 3 years and I am 28, I'm ready to have a family!!! So this is why I had the surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Can't wait to start trying. I have at least a year before that happens but it seems much more possible now! HW 381 SW 376.6 CW 347

Self-pay and post-op problems
JamiO replied to laffypatty's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was self pay and part of the price I paid to my doctor covered insurance that would cover any complications up to 3 months after the surgery I believe. -
I'm not even thinking about bread anytime soon. But as far as my taste buds go, I noticed I like sour things like pickle juice and also eating more spicy foods. (Not too spicy, but before surgery I hated spicy things) now I find myself each jalapeño chicken sausage, pepper jack cheese, horseradish mustard, and other things with a kick.

I need a louisiana shirt like that! -
I have always been one to go to sleep before 10 and wake up in the morning before 8. Now I get in bed at 10 and kay here for hours!!! Tonight it's been almost. 4 hours and I just can not fall asleep. And when I do finally fall asleep I wake up almost every hour. I am 15 days post op and all of this happened after surgery. Has anyone else gone through this? I just wanna sleep!!!!

I finally did! I was scared it would upset my stomach. But it was fine. Had my 2 week post op today and my doctor said it wasn't the first time someone asked about pickle juice and that it seems to be normal.

I had an old bottle of coke from before surgery sitting on my counter calling my name. I took the top off and let it go flat and fixed myself some in a glass. I took one sip and dumped it out. As soon as I swallowed it I started sweating and my stomach immediately cramped. I loooooved coke before surgery. Now after that sip..... I don't want a thing to do with it. Ill stick to my tea and water.

My husband stayed. I actually slept in the foldout chair bc it was more comfortable and he slept in my bed!! Also, honestly a shower was the last thing I was thinking about the day I left was a shower!

I am craving guacamole and a regular house salad and sausage. Very random things!

So I am only 11 days post op but have had 2 great things happen today. I put on a pair of shorts that haven't fit in over a year and they are perfect! And I bent over and tied my shoe in the middle and didn't have to pull my foot up to my knee to do it!! And my scale victory is that I am down 24 pounds!!!

I have an exercise bike on the way too which will be helpful! I try to walk as much as possible but it is HOT where I am, 95 degrees yesterday.

I paid $13,750 in louisiana.

I would say I am have an addiction with food or eating or more honestly the feeling I get when I crave something and then actually eat it. I am addicted to feeling content and full in more ways than just in my stomach. It is something I will be seeing a counselor for to get to the bottom of because I kind of know where it comes from but I need some help to get to the point where I have enough self control to keep everything in check. I know I had a hard time admitting I was an addict because I would sit down with people like my mom who weighs 135 pounds and she would out eat me everytime. But then I was honest and realized she may eat that way occasionally and I was doing it everyday for dinner. I know one of my mains problems was that as a teacher I usually don't eat breakfast, eat a bite of lunch, and then by the time I get home for dinner I chow down!! So my goal for when I go back to work in August is to really monitor my eating habits and make sure I am getting in breakfast and lunch. I will need the fuel.

How much did you lose the 1st week?
JamiO replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on the 11th and I am down 18 pounds. -
Curious to see what response you get, I am having a weird pain in the same spot.

I'm nowhere near close either. Don't feel bad. Your sips are probably just right. I had my surgery on the 11th.

I had my surgery on Tuesday morning. And I am having some serious trouble getting any liquid in and keeping it down. Since surgery I have had about 10 spoonfuls of ice, 1 spoonful of lemonade, 2 spoonfuls of chicken broth and some tea. I tried for a Popsicle and it came right back up. I have no desire to take anything in at all. Suggestions?

Okay, still struggling. I am on the 5th type of Protein shake, still making me gag. I have about 5 glasses of tea a day, that maybe equals 40oz or so. But I am getting in 0 protein. In desperation today I bought yogurt, even though I can't stand it. I am going to email my dietician tomorrow. I just don't want to wither away. In about 10 days ill be able to eat soft foods and I am hoping that will help with my protein intake. I feel like I am being a bad surgery patient!

Not that urine ever smelled great before surgery, but since my surgery on Tuesday my urine smells disgusting!!! Is this because I am not getting enough liquid? I am terrified of being dehydrated. Any insight would be appreciated!! in other good news I have lost 10 pounds!!!

I have one that I liked preop and will see if I feel the same tomorrow, but if not ill take suggestions.
