Ready to call ot quits
suzieq14 replied to puchy123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
R U logging your food and water consumption on something like MyFitnessPal or Calorie Count or something. Its easy to think you are getting in 70g of protein when you aren't. Ditto with water. You may feel like you are drinking water all day but only getting in 40oz. of water instead of bare minimum 64. Not getting enough protein or water can stall your weight loss. If your not doing it yet, I would suggest you start logging your food to make sure your getting the nutrients and water you need. Hope this helps. -
passed out for the second time since surgery

I get dizzy a lot too. I've had blood work done and everything is fine. I personally think it has to do with eating such low calories and low carb.....especially the low carb. -
Losing Weight But Still Feeling Lost
suzieq14 replied to Lunaya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wanted to start by congratulating you on your weight loss.....your doing great. I agree with what everyone on here has said.....you definitely need to get some counseling. You might want to talk to your doctor about depression also. The lack of energy and ability to get excited about anything are symptoms of it. Hope you can find the path to loving yourself and your life. Best Wishes. -
I'm 45 and had surgery 2.5 months ago. I'm a lot heavier than you but can say my energy level is definitely up (especially in the bedroom). My husband is loving it. Lol!! I think its mental energy as well as physical. You just feel better and want to do things. My energy is up but I tire out pretty easily. I'm only getting about 450 cal. a day so I'm guessing that's why, but to be honest I'm still much more active now than I was 80lbs. ago. So NO!! Your not kidding yourself.

No stopping me now!

I just wanted to wish you Good Luck on your Sleeve journey and also tell you not to let others detour you......those same people who said mean things to you when you were younger will probably try and make you feel bad about having surgery to lose weight. Most people in my life were supportive....but I had a couple who tried to get me to not do it.....but let me tell you....I am So Glad I Did! -
What does your surgeons plan allow? I would follow it. I'm allowed fruit, I had 10 blueberries and 2 oz. of cantaloupe yesterday......but no acidic or high sugar fruit which is what orange juice is. If you can't resist just drink a very small amount and take small sips to see how it affects you.

I didn't have a bowel movement until day 4 post op and it was diarrhea and the diarrhea lasted for about two weeks. I'm not a fan of diarrhea but it definately was a time of rapid weight loss. As early out as you are your body is still in shock from the surgery.....I'd give it a few more days before I worried about it.

I am 3 weeks out and get 350-400 cal. a day. I get 60-65 grams of protein a day. Your calories do seem high to me but it sounds like you are more active than I am. My surgeons plan doesn't call for calorie counting...60-80 grams protein a day and when you work up to it, a half a cup of food three times a day. After a year out you can have a cup of food at each meal. I am currently on full liquids until I am one month out which will be the 11th. I drink two protein supplements a day and have one meal of 1/4 cup of cream of wheat, greek yogurt, or cottage cheese. Don't really know if 800 is too much, it depends on your age, activity level, and your surgeons plan. Good luck to you!!
