When I was active duty Navy, I did well with maintaining my weight. It was until about 6 month before I was getting ready to separate that I started gaining weight. Once I was discharged from active duty I got up to about 215 lbs. Then I moved to Florida and started on the health kick eating small meals, no pork, smoothies, and more fruits and vegetables. I got my weight down to about 170 lbs. I gained some weight right before my pregnancy and obviously during but lost the majority of the baby weight but then started to gain it all back within a couple months of losing the weight. I know depression played a huge part in the weight gain and the lack of motivation I felt to do something about it. Once I got up to 260 lbs, I loss all hope and just decided to except the fact that I was going to be overweight even though I was happy with the way I looked.
It was crazy because I read a lot of books and articles on healthy eating, smoothies and raw foods. I used to grow wheatgrass and sprouts so I had the knowledge but wasn't putting it to good use. Then a co-worker told me to get the surgery. I said no so many times saying that I'll just work out which I know I wasn't. Then I saw her results and another co-worker and got excited about the possibility of being at a healthy weight like I used to be. I'm grateful that I met her because the only results I had to go by was a friend who's mother practically lost her life after getting the gastric bypass. I very happy with my results and if I could do it all over again, I would. No regrets here.
