My surgery is next Tuesday, I started my liquid diet this past Tuesday. On Wednesday, while walking around Walmart, I suddenly felt VERY faint -- I thought I was going to pass out right on the floor - my heart was racing too. My friend was with me and we sat on a bench. I drank a Protein shake off the shelf, a bottle of Water and 1/2 a gatorade and it took me an hour before I felt good enough to walk to the car. Yesterday I felt fine, then today I had a shake for Breakfast and started feeling faint as soon as I got to work. I drank another shake, some gatorade and OJ (per my docs office) before I was able to have my vitals tested: BP was elevated 170/74, but came down as I was laying there, and Blood sugar was 147 ( I am not diabetic, but I just drank ALL that). Still feeling faint. Did anyone else have this problem?? My docs off cant image what it is since my vitals are "fine". Im worried about after the surgery... if Im not getting enough - am I gonna pass out. I dont have a history of anything like this.

regret Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?
TvlGrl712 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 41 and need to lose about 100 lbs. Im going through the steps to get cleared by insurance, but I go back and forth? Should I just try a serious diet one more time (even though I've been steadily gaining this weight since my mid-20s and dieting off and on the whole time). Does anyone regret having the surgery?? I know its nerves, but its so drastic to remove part of your stomach... -
My doc told me I should be eating 8oz now so I wouldn't worry.

48 lbs off! It's been so slow for me the whole time - lots of stalls - but it's still worth it! SW 240 CW 192 GW 160

4.5 months out, 46 lbs down. Feeling happy, happy, happy! -
I experienced this quite a bit but less so now (I'm 4.5 months out). I still can't pinpoint why it does it but I do try to drink more water and get my protein on those days. I hate the feeling!!

So the hair loss is driving me nuts. Im almost 4 months out and its in full swing or full fall, I should say. I have long hair and its on everything!! Has anyone had luck with anything? Biotin pills or even Rogain or Minoxidil. I know it sounds vain, but I didn’t like being fat with a full head of hair and I don’t want to be skinny and bald either – yikes!!

Thanks I'll look into that shampoo. Of course I knew it would happen but when reality sets on, it's like Oh crap! -
I can also eat 3-4 oz of protein. If I add in a veggie to my meal (usually dinner) it weighs about 4.5 oz. total. And I can eat ANYTHING. that's good, but bad. I'm down 40 with 40 to go, so it's slow, but I'd rather have a Sleeve of Steel than have the hard time others do.

How many carbs and protein are you getting in? I haven't been tracking as closely as I should so I'm wondering what others are doing?? Thanks!

What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
TvlGrl712 replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I literally threw away 1/2 a chocolate cake that was left... My weakness!! But I talked myself into dumping it, then did it before I could talk myself out if it. Playing mind games with yourself can be confusing!! -
What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
TvlGrl712 replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was my Thanksgiving plate. For comparison, that deviled egg is a small size egg. I couldn't finish it all, but I did have some pumpkin pie and a little more turkey and dressing for dinner. I did have a lot more carbs than I'm used to but thanks to my tiny pouch, the damage was minimal. Tomorrow, I'm back on the wagon. ???? -
My biggest pet-peeve is everyone feels like they have to tell me I look great every time they see me - even if its 2 days later and my weight is the exact same. i'm glad I have supportive friends, but sometimes its like... give it a rest people. haha

Its my birthday! I want real food!
TvlGrl712 replied to hiddis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a good time eater too - but losing weight is so much better than fajitas.. Plus, 6 weeks or so after surgery and you've dropped a bunch already - you can have a fajita again - you just wont be able to eat it all. Happy Birthday! -
Wife thinks I'm eating to little
TvlGrl712 replied to Peachykeen1383837854's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
You are eating way more than I was at that stage - I think I was still on shakes and soups. Less than 500 cals a day... and doing what I could to get 50 grams of protein. Im now 3 months out and getting 800 cals a day - I do try to add a couple of ounces of vegies to my dinner - and 75 g of protein. Your doc or NUT will be the best person to tell you what to do though. -
It's the little things! (what about you?)
TvlGrl712 replied to susan6161's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have a fun "little thing" too. This weekend we went to visit our kids who are in college. I met my 22 year old daughter's roommate's boyfriend (follow all that?) and he thought I was my daughters FRIEND, NOT her MOM!! Im still smiling about that one!! -
Went through halloween with not 1 piece of candy! First EVER!
TvlGrl712 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cant beleive it... I did not pop 1 piece of halloween candy in my mouth this whole season. Im sorta afraid to because right now, I cant remember how good it tasted and I dont want to remind myself. It paid off - 33 lbs down today and Im actually wearing skinny jeans tucked into boots!! And I got a compliment from the very 1st person I saw today: She said I looked great in this outfit. Small victories/feeling happy! -
Sitting at a stall and frustrated!
TvlGrl712 replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I kept stalling like every other week, so I just started paying closer attention to what was going in - I dont cheat, but sometimes the calories were higher than I like - and what was being burned off. It seems to help when I focus on those things a little more. -
THANKSGIVING DAY GOAL
TvlGrl712 replied to supermom223's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 11 weeks out and that's my plan exactly - i didnt get the surgery to never have my favs again - but it does help me with control. I plan to concetrate on turkey, but im going to have a spoonful of whatever looks yummy. 33 lbs off today, but I want to hit 41 by Turkey Day - which will get me to ONEderland! -
Thanksgiving.. What to eat.?
TvlGrl712 replied to meaganchuckran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be 15 weeks by then. Since I dont have room for much I will probably take a spoonful of all my favs, but try to concentrate on protein (aka Turkey). -
