Yep, spur of the moment. Actually, that is when you get the best deals! If you can go at the drop of a hat, then it works out great for the pocketbook! I had a shift change so I got 5 days off in a row and it worked perfectly.
I LOVE CRUISING. It is the only way I vacation anymore it seems. It is MUCH cheaper and it is SO relaxing.
The cruise was a 4 night cruise out of Galveston Texas and went to Calica Mexico and had 2 "fun" days at sea. I HATE Calica, it is a horrible port. But we didn't plan to ever get off the ship so it didn't matter where we went really.
I lazily sat around the pool reading a good book and enjoyed the fantastic food in itty bitty portions. For the first time EVER in cruising I didn't gain a single pound!! I didn't lose any either, but at least I didn't gain it!
Hey Lisa, I gave Travis that smooch and I told him it was from you!!! You know what that crass man said to me? "where's the tongue?" LMAOOOOO!

My 2 cents:
Oprah: No surgery, can afford the chef and the personal trainer on call 24/7
Kirstie A.: I think she had the band.
Star Jones: I DEFINITELY think she is hiding something. Don't know what type or how, but yep.
Anna Nicole Smith: Crack, not Trimspa baby!

Well, I had made it through the holidays but I just sat here in my after holiday depressions and food guilt so I DESERVED A BREAK! I went to the phone and we went on a cruise. We had the best time ever! A MUCH needed relaxing vacation. A bit chilly but it was overall fantastic. We met another couple there too. She had weight loss surgery also so we immediately clicked with talking about the band. Plus, 2 other people at our lunch table said they had the band too! Then, when I was out at one of the shows, the guy next to me had the band.
Here is one of my fav pics......

Regarding: HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY?

If you talk to him, let us know. I think that I am a Mexico (Ortiz) patient and I am SKEEEERED of what is going to happen to me in the future! So many Mexico erosions lately and I am freaking!

Wheetsin,
Everyone at my department is laughing over the gnomes and the YEARS of misgivings. We all agree. Save the damn earrings until next year, wrap them in the best wrapping paper (all pretty and stuff) and send them back to her. If she ever says anything, just say,"oh, I saw them and immediately thought of YOU!"

I was on mine at surgery. Used the "plug" option.

I got one for ya....
My sister (drunk, welfare bitch that I can't stand and leaches off of the family as an idiot portion of the family) gets a 3 night cruise for 2 people and her airfare roundtrip. I get.... $100 and some fuzzy socks. Yipee.

I was low bmi too and banded. I can not feel by tubing. I can feel the port if I press on it but it isn't bulging (unless I eat a lot). I was banded with a BMI of 33 and have a BMI of 25 now. Did they place the port near your breastbone? You said you think it is prssing on your diaphram? Is the tubing near the top of the skin? Seems wierd to me, I would call the doc again and demand some answers.

ahhhhhh, my toes are in the sand somewhere....

Is this an aching feeling when you twist or turn?
I had port sensitivity and aching for about 2 months after surgery. It helped to lean into a pillow and a heating pad.
Otherwise, I would say give your doc a ring.

Lisa,
The only bullet your gonna get is the one I unload into your refrigerator to make it stop working. That will be my promise to you.

Starting weight of 220, now 10 months post op, 170.
Starting size 18/20, now 10 months post op, size 12.
The first 50 lbs were a breeze. This last 20 lbs I need to lose is kicking my butt!!!

If your approved for Bypass I would try the appeal process and see where it takes you. If they still say no to the band choice, then I would do the bypass. But that is me. You have to make the right choice for you.

Okay, I think I have to be the gloomy gus. Lately, I have felt like I am trying to make the most of my band and really kick my weight loss in the butt for fear of losing the band because of all the erosions lately. It scares me. I WANT to keep the band for the rest of my life but I don't think it is going to happen. I think that those of us who have been banded are the "silicone breasts" for what the future holds. I personally expect to see the band being replaced by a new better engineered hi tech band and we will all do revisions. I don't see having this foreign object in my body for longer than 10 years without something going wrong with it. Defeatist attitude? Maybe. But still my honest thoughts about it.

Thank you for your interest in this study. Unfortunately, it appears that your answers do not meet the criteria to fully qualify and complete this study.
LMAO, that is what it told me!!!

Hmmmm, interesting idea Kare. So I thought about it.... about 40 attempted/completed suicide calls in the last 2 years I have been on. Only 2 of them were obese. About another 2 more were "heavy". Interesting thought. Wonder what the normal is then.... I will have to check NPT (www.normalpeopletalk.com)

I had to quit 2 weeks before surgery. After that... puff puff puffing away. I know I should quit, it isn't good for me, yada yada yada. Still, I feel satisfied by them. I gave up my food, not ready to give up my filthiest of habits yet. Someday I will. As for today... light me up!

Do NOT drink.
If you slime, spit it out.
And the best thing for me to do is MOVE! Walk walk walk walk... then walk some more.
Tough first month
