did you see the mexico travel suggestions thread? my only advice is to not overpack! Also have a wheelchair lined up for the return trip home and for any change of planes. Remember to take your heating pad! And as always.... the FUZZY PINK HOUSE SLIPPERS MAKE YOU FEEL SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!

only by seeing the incision, if i press on it i can feel the port and a bit of hardness. Husband won't even feel it for fear of hurting me. I think within time he will. I have laid on my back and sucked in my stomach to see if I can see a "bulge" but nope.

I have no issues answering this question honestly but it used to be a topic of concern/dispute/etc in LBT but I feel this is a very valid question. There used to be a thread that addressed this issue in its entirity, but it is gone ((poof)). It dealt with sensitive issue such as sex and the types/positions/gratifications. I think the consesus that we got was that it was a very idividual issue. Some felt comfortable right away, some did not. Some found that modifying positions and trying new things worked best just after post op. Many claim that you should directly ask your doctor about the situation and take his/her advice. Many posted that being on top was more comfortable for them where as others claimed that being on bottom was better as long as he supported his weight off your tummy. I personally feel that the "spooning" (him from behind and on your sides) position would work well but I have not even attempted it yet. I want to wait till about 3 weeks post op and he respects that. As for self stimulation, I think you can go for it when your ready. As for oral gratification, I think the same thing, go for it when your ready. But we did have a conversation here about the "thouroughness" in which you as the woman complete the oral gratification upon the male. Most said (those that admitted or posted) that indulging in extra "digestion" wouldn't probably be the greatest and most didn't want to really try it again until extremely post op. I think you and your partner should be able to sit down and discuss the varying ways to lead up to intercourse. It is a natural and excellent communication skill that humans everywhere are completing. I hope I have answered this in the most delicate, yet direct, way possible.

The emotions you feel are completely normal brilee!! What doctor did you choose? Where? What are your goals? What are you now? We have alllllll been there and are going through similar things. The more experienced bandsters post here a lot and offer TERRIFIC advice. Welcome to LBT!! (Kathy, you got another one to add, your list is getting HUGE!!!!)

And I think it is important to note that this is MY belly, it kinda sounds like your 12 day post op pic. And I must say, wha a pretty belly you have! I would NEVER guess that you are 215! And bandit, does that mean I look like crap? ha ha ha

Man, I am not saying I am upset or anything but I haven't had any bodily noises at all! It's like the band isn't even there! I don't notice an increase in farting or gurgling noises. Am I wierd?

Be very very careful with the MENTAL hunger! That was my nemisis. I felt as if I "should" be eating rather than "needing" to eat. I am just now (and will struggle much more) with the new concept of eating to live rather than living to eat. You are only 5 days post op. Please stay strong! I am not going to lie and say that the next few weeks gets any easier either. I am 2 weeks post op and want food SOOOO badly! Try drinking more Water and more water! I know that one food in my 2nd week that has SAVED me was the Yoplait Whips yogurt. Very light and fluffy yet very satisfying! Stay strong!!

lol, I got a maid/housekeeper as a Mother's Day gift one time. I got 3 months of no housekeeping (she came and cleaned once a week!) IT WAS PURE BLISS! But costly so I couldn't keep her. But man, if I could just win that lottery, that is another thing I would do!

I have been having bouts of "nausea" when I think I have over eaten a bit. But then again, I am still post op only 2 weeks.

OKAY!!! You asked for it so here it is!! I hope a moderator can put the images out of links and into the post for me. ((hint hint)) THESE PICTURES ARE 12 DAYS POST OP! Both pictures show the very minmal scars/incisions. The bruising I had was very minimal. The brown/yellow rings you see around the actual incisions is NOT bruising but is the leftover "superglue" still. I take a shower EVERY day and wash them but they are slow to come off. From what I gather, they "glue" the incisions, let that dry, then put a "coating of glue" over and around the incisions again. The scab had just fallen off on the top incision so it is a little pink, my bra had scuffed it off. The only real bruising i got was the one top of the belly button. The one that was the most sore was the longer port incision. I am VERY happy with the size of them and the expertise in the cut! I know that I am a fast healer but I expect that I would be hard pressed to find the smaller ones in 6 months. I will just keep posting updates on this thread as I go along. I plan to take another picture at 6-8 weeks post op, another at 6 mo, then another at a year. ENJOY MY BELLY!!!!!!!!

Congrats grammi!!! Hey Kathy, add her to the list-o-bandsters! A note about the non disclosure by the doctor: so would you be his first band??? Can't you take your approval letter and go somewhere else if you wanted to? I guess surgeons have to all start somewhere but I can definitely say I wouldn't want their first ones to be on me, just my opinion. personally, I would look around now. You have your approval for the "procedure" not the specific doctor, so I would assume you can take it anywhere.

Go to the www.flylady.net site. It is a site for corporate or busy mom/wife on the go. Has all kinds of tricks/tips/recipes/etc.
