What about a self pay option? Many of us have financed the bands!!! It CAN be done if your determined enough to do it. There are all kinds of options out there. Some of us did airline miles credit cards, refi the house, take out loan, sell car and buy cheaper car, ebay for it, garage sales, etc etc etc..... The list is endless to the number of ways to raise the money for it!!!

I am in pain just looking at those pictures. OUCH! But may I say on another topic... your looking great in your weight loss!!

princess_n_thep replied to choldren's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep, I did it too. And it made a HUGE difference in my return this year!!! -
Yep, I had one too. What a crock. Didn't do nothing but make me really uncomfortable.

We are waiting..... somewhat impatiently We want pictures and an update from the vet! Now you have us involved! Inquiring minds want to know!!

Okay, Lisa is the one that got me started on this. Darn her for dragging me back into posting..... I was making a pretty good stand too! Post your favorite baby pics. Of you, yours, others, whoever.... just favorite babies. Yes Lisa, doggies are included! Here is my favorite of my son when he was just 1 year old. (11 years ago... omg I am getting old)

I check the new posts twice a day and lately it seems that there have been 5-7 pages of postings each time I do the checks. That is A LOT to go through and keep up with. I try and sift through the postings but I never feel like I can keep up. I feel bad that I don't get to welcome everyone, I want to keep up on news, I just can't keep up with the postings. It is driving me crazy!

How young is "pretty young"? I am 32 now and when I was 29 they found 3 masses in my breasts that they biopsied. They found them because I finally told them about the pain and tenderness.

Geez, I loveeeeeeeee weddings. Makes me think of mine too. Was a size 12. And I was more like a size 10. So I agree that 18 is probably more like a 16!!! Wedding dresses run small in cut I think too. I love your strapless dress! I went for something to cover my arms because I think mine are too big. You have perfect shoulders though!

WARNING GROSS PICTURES Lisa's Surgical Wounds
princess_n_thep replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can barely even find my scars now. -
I just meant that there are many more severe things out there. And if you think finding a little pot is the worst thing that can happen, then insensitive or not, you need to get out more because there are far and many more serious situations that could happen. I was just trying to put it into perspective of seriousness. I am sorry if my "it could have been worse" attitude offended anyone, but it really really really "could have been worse." I think Shanna took my advice well and was open minded about my comments and don't think she was offended so since she was the one who the comments were meant for, I feel okay about them.

yep, those are all good questions.... also check out the links page. Do a search for some of your common questions and you will see posts about them probably.

WARNING GROSS PICTURES Lisa's Surgical Wounds
princess_n_thep replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, she is not the norm. But our little Lisa is just different in every way and we love her. Yes, the port is forever (or supposed to be anyway). You can feel it but it isn't visible just looking at it. It is placed in the abdominal wall. Look at the "scar stages" thread and you can see what a typical post op will look like. -

Star Jones is SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!!
princess_n_thep replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They said 170 in 3 years though. I think if it had been in one year, then yes I agree, but 3 years. I think 170 is possible with the band with the money for a chef and an exercise guru at your whim. -
FAV BABY PICS! (blame this on Lisa!)

WARNING GROSS PICTURES Lisa's Surgical Wounds
princess_n_thep replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh my god at "not that bad". If you have open laproscopic infection wounds like hers, you need to RUN to the doctor. She had to pack that thing with yards of gauze and it seeped and pussed and it was just gory having her tell me about it. Just makes you cringe!!! Maybe the pictures just don't do it justice. -
I have the same issues as Penni does. That is why mine get that way too. Have you had a sonogram check of your breasts for deep fibrous masses?

FAV BABY PICS! (blame this on Lisa!)
princess_n_thep replied to princess_n_thep's topic in The Lounge
Bumping this because I was revisiting old threads and thought maybe others would want to share their favorite baby pictures, either of them or their kids, or others kids. Whomever, just share some cute baby pics with us. Plus, I couldn't give up the chance to have everyone see Lisa in her tu-tu again. -
Star Jones is SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!!
princess_n_thep replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmmmmmm, Kare go check out the Jade thread. Okay all, I was so curious about this that I stopped at CircleK tonight to check out the magazine. DEFINITELY scars. I say band. I think she would have lost way more, much quicker if bypass. -
Where will they go? Are they prepared for a move as of tomorrow? I don't mean to sound prying, but since you came here for advice.... what about giving them some time (because of the baby) to find a new home?

Poll for Women Only *ADULT*
princess_n_thep replied to DeLarla's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't mean to sound like the fuddy duddy in the room, but are we breaking our earlier rule that we agreed to put XXX on any questionably mature only threads so that others do not inadvertantly be exposed to our horrendous, immature, and borishly funny threads such as these? hmmmmm? -
Star Jones is SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!!
princess_n_thep replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I could do that I suppose. But when I am at Wal Mart, I tend to pick up the Horticulture magazine to find out why my friend's plants are purple!! HA HA HA -
Not true. If it is in possession of the nephew, it is his. If it is in the house, it is common area and no one can be placed as the owner unless they admit it. No one would be in serious trouble unless additional issues are in place (growing it, storing large amounts, having packaging materials to indicate sale) Plus, a very small amount of marijuana isn't a HUGE issue. Hell, it is only a misdemeanor anymore. Still a felony on the books, but a Misdemeanor charged (unless it is A LOT). I don't think the criminal aspect is the question here, just the moral aspect and how your family views the use of this drug. I will tell you all that some of the biggest recreational drug users are .... professionals (lawyers, doctors, university professors, teachers, etc) not the dirt bag that has a baggie of pot on them. I think somehow they have "evolved" into Meth. Today, your not a true dirtbag until you are smoking or slamming Meth. I am in no way advocating the use of marijuana. But I just want to put this into perspective and have a good conversation and debate about it.
