((sigh)) still in awe over illude's weight loss. This is the type of post I needed lately. WAY TO GO 100+ CLUB!!!

    Expecting Too much

I have a similar, yet different issue too. I have lost 60 lbs and I DO see a difference in the actual clothing size and people DO say they notice it.... My problem is that I JUST DON'T SEE IT! I feel like I look as fat as I did the day of the surgery. So I can understand that it may be frustrating. Just keep hanging in there and hope it all gets better soon. I know that no one seemed to notice my loss and then all of a sudden people were "wow" and "whoa" at me. And I just look at them like their nuts. Whoa what? I dont see a thing!

Another twenty pounds?????Thats it 218-157 STOP

Holy crap, you paid WHAT?!??! for the surgery? I hope that is a typo. $45k???? I was lower BMI and I think the last 20# is the hardest to lose. The first 1/2 was a breeze. Now, fat is being stubborn.

BMI 32 lookng for inexpensive surgeon

Wow, I don't know if any of us had our surgery for $6k. I think the lowest price you will find is around $8k. Can you possibly finance the rest?

BMI 32 lookng for inexpensive surgeon

Looooooooooong story. I think there is a thread back from last summer on it. Really frustrated the hell out of me. They don't have the best reputation. They are more involved with "quantity" (and yes, they TOLD me that!!) is what I was told on the phone. Got about the same dumbass answers from Phoenix as well as Chicago Wish Centers. From that point on.... they don't touch my dog. He takes his business elsewhere.

    breast reduction questions

My vote is to wait until you have lost all of your weight and see where you are then. If you have one now, you could still lose breast mass through weight loss and thus be smaller than you want to be.

    Sleeping position

I am a stomach sleeper too. (just the same as you described, and usually with a body pillow) I couldn't do it for about a month. Then all was fine.

I wouldn't let the Wish Center cut my dogs toenails.

    Hello from this Grandma!

I have around 2.2 cc's I think right now. Yes, ONLY Dr. Martinez touches me. I swear I am in love with that man! I have my days of eating and being finicky too. I have toyed with the idea of getting a fill, but I just know it is me and not the band.

Cost of WLS in the US

Make sure you are also getting the costs of all their pre-op tests. Good luck on your decision process! And welcome to LBT. Plus, depending on your BMI, that might take you out of some Doctors in the US.

    Hello from this Grandma!

Hi, I was banded about the same time as you by Dr. Ortiz. Just a week apart. You can check out my stats below. I think my issue is exercise. I work a lot and have A LOT going on outside of that. I just don't have time or energy to really bust out a good sweat. If I would, I know I could drop another 10-15

back to work 3rd day post op?

I had surgery on Wed and was back to desk job on Monday. But I wish I would have waited until Wed again. As far as full duty goes, I wish I would have waited for 6 weeks instead of 4. But I am a big baby on pain and my duty belt rubbed my scars.

try this-next meal --its amazing !!

How about just closing your eyes througout the entire process? You will have to FIND your food. Soon you will be so frustrated, you will just quit out of frustration and exhaustion. And think of how fun it would be to watch you?

    de-banded and feeling better!

Glad your recovering well. Any plans for rebanding or another option? Tell your surgeon you want YOUR band. What reason does he give for sending it to some lab? What lab?

    Fun thread: bonehead docs

After my neices surgery for her appendix, the doctor came in the room while she was recovering and said to my sister, "Do you know where this piece goes?" He had a rubbery red piece (it was fake) and he thought he was funny. Which I actually thought it was, but my sister was PISSED. I still laugh about that, which actually pisses my sister off more, which in turn makes me laugh even harder. On another note, I went to a doctor for Bronchitis. He used a regular Duracell flashlight to look in my mouth to my throat. Then he used a plastic spork to hold down my tongue. I thought he was kidding. Then he had me cough and spit onto a paper plate to which he actually smeared it around with the same spork he had used to hold my tongue down. I walked out. Didn't even say a word. Just walked out.

BMI 32 lookng for inexpensive surgeon

Mexico or another country is probably your only option with that low of a BMI. How can you have a BMI or 30-32... there is about 30 lbs difference between the two numbers.
