    What was YOUR last straw?

My mother (who had always been morbidly obese) was thinner than me after gastric bypass. That rocked my boat in a side by side picture of us.

    ancestry...dna analysis

Well.... just a warning then for DH.... I am adopted and at age 21 (12 years ago) I decided to "find my heritage". Ruined my life! I wish I could go back and just forget it all. Sometimes skeletons are buried for a reason. Just walk lightly.... you never know what your gonna step in.

What about just opening up your arcadia door all day and letting it "mosey" on outside?

    Advice?!

I asked this question point blank to a US surgeon: 1. Because the money is in the procedure, not the aftercare. Doctors don't WANT you to go to another country. And if you do, why would they want to invest the time and effort into someone else's work. 2. And unfortunately, there can be "hack" jobs in other countries. If you don't pick a good surgeon, they could be stuck with your aftercare that some Mexico doc screwed up. Therefore, your problems will be associated with his practice even though you didn't get banded by him/her.

    Pouch keeps stinging

Try leaning into a pillow for pressure. Also a heating pad on low will take the "sting" out.

    need help making a decision

This is also their disclaimer on their website. They just don't really mention how rare it is to not have problems at some point during the "life" of your band. Which is estimated up to 10 years. Is there a chance the device will need to be removed? The LAP-BAND System is a long-term implant, but it may have to be removed or replaced at any time. For instance, the device may need to be removed to manage any adverse reactions you might have. The device may also need to be removed, repositioned or replaced if you aren't losing as much weight as you and your doctor feel you should be losing. http://www.lap-band.com/risk.html

    need help making a decision

To my knowledge... Craig at Inamed told me that the longest statistic is 10 years because that is the longest that an Inamed band has been put in as the original. He said it was common to need a replacement band after 5 years if the band lasts that long. Needless to say, my conversation with him was less than encouraging considering I already had the band. And I am a bit miffed that my doctor never told me about this being long term rather than perm lifelong. I knew of the complications, but I didn't know they were practically inevitable and very rare to have an ORIGINAL band for more than 10 years.

    need help making a decision

They are right.... The decision is yours. However, if you are asking my personal opinion I am more than willing to share it. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with a more life long procedure rather than the long term lap band. As Inamed will even tell you, the band is designed for long term (ie average 6-10 years) whereas another form is life long. I didn't know this when I got the surgery. I would have went for more permanant methods personally. Don't get me wrong... I love my band and I love what it has done for me. I look and feel great! But, I will be converting when the life of my band expires to more perm method. I just would have done the perm method faster.

What did you wear on surgery day?

I wore comfy Tshirt, PJ bottoms, and pink fuzzy slippers. I wanted to just wear the slippers but my mom said that was inappropriate.

Totally blowing it on the supervised diet.

I think not doing well on the supervised diet is the point of it all. No worries. Everything will be okay.

4th of July/ Summer Exchange Thank You Thread

Okay, I am a little concerned. I sent mine out around June 8th or so. They still haven't posted here so I checked my delivery confirmation and it says that they have no record. I am nervous. Should I contact the person or just wait for a bit? I'd like to know in case I need to send another replacement gift.

  23. NjChick: Learning to Taste Life Instead Of Inhaling It Are we still talking about oral sex?? Are you saying that you previously inhaled it like a steamer? Hmmm, is it good for the pores?
  24. Is a man’s semen good for you if you swallow? I have been told that it has Protein in it. Yes, semen has protein in it, but I wouldn’t consider making a meal out of it! Semen contains citric acid, fructose, and protein, all of which are nutrients that are also found in food. Although these nutrients are necessary ingredients for a healthy diet, ingesting a man’s semen is not a good or recommended way to go about consuming these nutrients. Other components of semen are alkalines, prostaglandins, and approximately 300 million sperm. Every teaspoon of semen that is consumed adds 5 calories to your daily intake. The amount of semen produced during ejaculation varies from man to man, but on average one to two teaspoons of semen is produced with each ejaculation. It is also important to consider the risks involved with fellatio and swallowing a man’s semen. HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases can be transmitted by swallowing semen and from oral to genital contact. Any contact that a person may have with another’s bodily fluids increases risk for contracting a number of diseases or infections. If your partner has been recently tested for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV and the test results were negative, then the semen would be considered “safe” to swallow. Before making semen the primary source of protein in your diet, try incorporating some lean meat or low fat dairy products into your diet! Katie Boutott, B.S. Adult Content XXX - Intimate problems

Well, I can't really feel your pain on this one Kat because my husband and I have the same issues but we are OPPOSITE. I have a huge high sex drive and I want it ALL the time. We do work opposite schedules but I am always wanting to make time for it whereas he is a bit more tired and unmotivated. He says it is a mental thing where it just takes too much work. We do enjoy oral and I LOVE to give it, but he says it makes him feel guilty that I don't get pleasured. But I do just by giving it. And the other issue is that he has me on some type of wife pedastal. He makes "love" but can't "fuck". Sometimes I just want a rampid jungle gym type of sex and he can't find it to treat me that way. I think its sweet but damnit, sometimes a girl just wants to get laid ya know? ((SIGH)) Regarding the pill issue... why not try the patch or the shot??? Or... if you are sure you don't want children, get spayed! Mrs Husker... someone did invent the panties. Slumber has them.
