Really depends on if it is warm or cold liquid. Sometimes a SMALL amount of warm liquid helps me. But if it is tap or cold... fuggetaboutit!

I didn't have a post op diet. I didn't go hog wild with food but I didn't count calories either. I lived life normally (as fat normal) and ate normally (as fat normal). -
Life before a fill is different. Anything you have lost in the healing period is just "bonus". Even if you add a few pounds back, no worries, it will come right back off after a fill. Sometimes the road to success has hills and isn't always downhill. Don't worry if you have to climb some of those hills.

Geez, I am soooooooo glad I got a fantastic mother and father in law this time around!! My first mother in law was a total B***CH!! I wonder if they will ever find her body?

DON'T drink. Try relaxing and stretching. Stand up, reach high, tippy toes... then relax... then do it again. It works for me.

Stretch... Stand up, reach for the sky, tippy toes, relax then do it again and again.

Woooot! I have a pen pal class. In Nebraska, there is a 5th grade class that wants to pen pal with my class. THANKS!!!
-
My 6th grade class is going to adopt another class somewhere in the US. Any teachers out there want to pen pal with my class??? I have about 20 students for this project that I would like to have as a year long project. We write you individual letters, you pair your kids up and they write back. I would like to stay within 1st - 8th grade. Let me know if you are interested ASAP. We are starting our letter writing skills next week and I would like to have our students "pen pal" buddies paired up by the following week. Thanks!

We are in Arizona. I just want a class to pen pal with for the year. If she is interested you can have her email me at sunsetsandstars@juno.com. We are starting letter writing skills this week and I want to have another class to write to before the following week. THANKS!

Small Bites... a question for the experienced bandster

Dr. Miranda (Ortiz nutritionist) does NOT have mushies in their diet. (which I personally think is crap and didn't do it myself) but those are their guidelines. -
Small Bites... a question for the experienced bandster

For the first year after banding, I used a small baby fork (or those tiny lobster forks) and baby spoon (yes, the plastic coated one) for ALL meals. COMPLETELY WORKED!!! Maybe I looked dumb in a restaraunt getting my utensils out of my purse but I could really give a S*$# what they thought. IT WORKED. -
During your prep period or during recess (for those younger kids) do walking around the playground. Maybe even get involved with their activities?

Anyone have any idea about conversion surgeries in the US (self pay?)?? I know Dr. Pleatman does a conversion from lapband to Gastric Bypass (around $12k), but does anyone know of anyone else that has a package for conversions?

Okay, I am having a dilemma. Do any of you feel strange talking about your weight loss surgery to others that are obese and don't have the band? Sometimes if I talk about it I feel as if they may think I am suggesting that they do the same. And sometimes if I am talking with someone that IS obese and hasn't even asked about my band, I feel like I want to tell them they too have this option and can be healthy again. I know how they feel inside and I know it hurts, maybe they just don't know that they can do it too!! I try and be discreet but it is uncomfortable sometimes. Anyone else have these feelings too or am I just being a hypocrite!

Suggesting banding to others.....
princess_n_thep replied to princess_n_thep's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do talk freely to those that ask... however, those that just meet me have no idea or concept of the weight that I have lost. Therefore, they don't "know" they can ask me. I just want to scream at the top of my lungs that there are option for people with obesity. Plus, MANY don't know about the "other country" option or that there are packages for self pay. I just don't want to pry but I do want others to know about it, especially those that can really benefit from it. -
What reason did you give your job for being out of work?
princess_n_thep replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I said "female type minor surgery". Everyone assumed I was getting my tubes tied. -
You're okay. Your brand new. Once your swelling goes down 1-3 weeks you will notice a difference.

changed your mind during the liquid stage?

I know some people may fire some blame at me.... but start smoking again. You can tackle that monster later. I also had a hard time doing both. Started smoking again and it calmed me down quite a bit. -

Is everyone working on getting their passports??? Just a reminder. Also, please note the www.tsa.gov changes in flight restrictions. No liquids, no gel unless prescription or baby formula.
