    June 2013 Sleevers GROUP

I'm sorry I missed these. I coundn't handle one more shake by maybe day-3 after surgery. My mentor told me about Isopure Zero Carb 40-grams of Protein CLEAR. This product comes in a 20-ounce bottle and is Ready To Drink. OMG! It's a life saver. They have 9 or 10 flavors and resemble something like Gatorade. I get it at GNC and have one every day. The best deal is online with their Gold Card discount. So far, fruit punch and grape are my favorites. Good luck and stay positive~!
  2. Hi Joli, My first thought was to ask if you might be interested in some lots I have for sale in North Carolina. Then I got honest about my own concerns about being creepy looking with a lot of loose skin. I live in shorts and I'm super active even though I'm in a wheelchair. I was lying in bed last night wondering how painful a body lift was going to be after I lose all of this weight. So in all fairness, I'm going to be watching this post to see if you're a pioneer bravely blazing a new way. Or it I'm glad you did it and told me not to try it. Good luck and keep us posted! Anne

    Anyone on thyroid meds

Me too. I've been at Syntharoid 150mcg for years. My sleeve doc told me to keep taking my meds. I'm assuming that's being checked with my yearly physical, but I'll ask next time. Thanks for mentioning it.

    Five days post-op & STARVING

Hey Olivia, I am not a fanof the Protein shake. They totally nauseate me. A friend turned me on to Isopure Zero Carb with 40-grams of protein. They are clear drinks that have flavors similar to Gatorade. They aren't something you would choose over a Coke, but for the protein and the taste they are a life saver for me.

    What is wrong?

I'm 13-days post op. I lost 19-pounds during the 2-week prep liquid diet. In the first 10-days I dropped 16-pounds putting me below 300 for the first time in a year. Then, after I shared my news, I was back up to 301. I weighed today and I'm at 300. I don't eat the fruit or the shake, but I do drink Isopure No Carb 40 every day. I'm a little bummed to, but I keep hearing about the 3-week stall. All I know for sure is that everyone on the sleeve loses weight if they stay away from the junk that got us here in the first place. We can't fail. It's physically impossible. Our bodies do have to get used to the "new normal," so try to hang in there and trust the doctor and all those who have successfully gone before us. Sounds like you've lost and kept off over 30-pounds! Congratulations! Let's support each other in what we have lost and how great that feels!

    KETOSIS bad breath!

Well, I'm glad you brought it up. I was going to label a new topic, "Good, Bad, and Ugly Breath." We were reading Protein contents on yogurt in the grocery Saturday, and my partner commented about smelling rottem milk or baby poo. Right after I said I don't smell it, she started laughing. The said she was afraid it was coming from me! HORROR!!! I've never been one to have bad breath! I got demerits all through school for chewing gum. I'm a singer and I always have a piece of gum in one cheek and a cough losenge in the other. I should own stock in Mentos Pure peppermint gum. Depending on what I'm doing, I have a two to six piece a day habit. My doctor also said no gum. I didn't agree to that one. I think I've swallowed two pieces in the last thirty years. I'll be extra careful, but I'm not available to be the person people don't want to talk to or sing with. Nope. Also, I brush a lot, four to six times a day, and I rinse with Listerine. I'm with the Orbitz ad... Dirty mouth? Clean it up!
  8. Well said! My partner and I were in the grocery store Saturday reading the Protein content in yogurt. She said something like, "Gosh it really smells like rotten milk or cow poop." And right after I said I didn't smell anything, she started laughing and said she thought it might be my breath! I was horrified! It's even there right after brushing! E-gads! I'm looking for solutions! Ugh! Still loving getting the desired results!

    June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

I totally went through the WTH am I doing. This is permanent. OMG! I think it's an important part of the process. This surgery amputates most of our stomach, so we have to be fully resolved to do it; they can't put it back. For me, it has been a deeply personal and spiritual process. I have come to terms with the fact that I have not been successful losing weight on my own, and I'm just getting older ... and bigger. I'm also in wheelchair from a car accident and have worried that the larger I am, the more difficult it will be to for my care providers should my condition worsen. I am certain that this is the solution and I am resolved to do everything I'm told to do. For once! We are so fortunate to have this tool available to us! Be the brave girl you are!

    June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

Hey, I'm 8-days out. I had real problems with the shakes after the 2-week prep. An RN friend of mine is 3-years out and told me to get Isopure Zero Carb ready to drink clear. It has 40-grams of protein and comes in flavors similar to Gatorade. It's not as sickly sweet as the shakes and you can sip it continuously. I promise you; it gets better every day. The twinge of every drink fades pretty quickly and the feeling of needing to berp passes with just a few days. I feel better about everything as soon as I get off the scale! Take care, Anne

    June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

Hi. I'm Anne and my surgery was June 13th. I've lost 31 pounds since my 2-week pre op diet.
  12. Wow! You are a Weight Lost Warrior! Way to go! It's so worth it! I'm at 7-days post op. I lost 19 pounds during the pre op liquid diet and I've lost 12 pounds in the last 7 days. This is such an amazing tool and I feel incredibly inspired with my own results and with all of yours. Thank you so much for sharing, not so Big Jim! Enjoy the day! Anne

    Hunger

Hey VST Addict, Does your pre op diet include broth? It sounds like a lame food, but I really looked forward to my "roast beef soup" while my partner ate dinner. I got very bored with the shakes. S/F Jello, S/F Popcycles, and the broth were my saving grace. Keep your eye on the prize. You are going to be so happy with the results! Anne

    Hunger

Hi, I'm 5 days out and was surprised to feel like I could trade my iPhone for a saltine cracker! I had a little yogurt and s/f Jello and got past it! I did order the unflavored Isopure protien powder and look forward to getting my protien in something other than a sweet tasting shake. I'm about sweetened out! LOL! Still, I'm getting the desired results and am grateful for that. Enjoy the day, Anne
  15. Thanks for the reminder, Lunaya! We're all going to be at our own pace, and I'm just glad to be losing! We're weight loss warriors!
