Looking for July Sleevers!
Goddardgo replied to fearnot's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I'm scheduled for July 24th!! First surgery of the day I am 36, wife, full time employee of a major health insurance company and mother of four awesome kids! I am SO ready to get this show on the road. I just had my 7.5 hour information class, completed all of my pre op testing and have my pre op next Tuesday the 9th. I am hoping to find some Arizona sleevers that I can pair with to maybe meet up and hang with once in a while just to keep up accountability. Anybody here? -
I got mine too!! July 24th!!!

I am looking for some July 24th buddies.. that I can talk with before and after surgery. I am the first surgery of the day in Scottsdale, AZ and must say I can't wait!! I just went to my manditory 7 hour seminar that went over so much. I feel even better now that I've done that.. Pre Op appointment in in less than 2 weeks on 7/9 and before I know it.. I'll be walking off my gas lol. -
Where are you located? I am in Avondale. I am having my surgery with Scottsdale Bariatric on 7/24.. if your close enough I would love to share this journey with you

Goddardgo replied to S(he) be(lie)ve(d)'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sweet!! I just finished my 3 month required and finally have a date.. but know how exciting it is to be this far! Go get em!! -
Just got word this morning that I have been approved. My chart has been passed onto the schedulers and I will hear back by Friday with a date! This has been a year in the making, and to say that I cried like a baby when I got that email is an understatement
-
That was fast! I just got my call .... I'll be the first sleeve of the day on 7/24. seems like so long, but really only 4 weeks from tomorrow!!!
-
Mine was a ton of questoins by the psych doctor and then another 300 written questions.. long, but easy. You'll do fine, it seems overwhelming, but it is very nice to be done!
-
what insurance are you? I have my last appt Monday and just asked this same question! I have Cigna.. my prior auth lady at the surgical center said it will take Cigna 3-4 weeks
-
Is lunch time a good time to work out?
Goddardgo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have my very last appointment Monday once I"m done with that, I should only be waiting on submission to Cigna and a surgery date!!! I have been thinking and wanted feedback. I have an hour lunch each day and a gym in my office.. Do you think there is a "best time" to workout, or could I just use my lunch break to use the gym? Does anybody else do this.. then I wouldn't have to when I get home, and that gives me more time to spend with my family and I won't have to watch all of my friends eat for an hour lol!! -
Almost 9 months out WoW!

Nine days after surgery, how to help
Goddardgo replied to pxinaz's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What part of AZ do you live in? I'm in avondale.. you can come over here lol. Really though,I am still pre op so I really don't know how my reaction and responses would be after surgery, but you shouldn't feel like this. I know how my husband used to get with a toothache and remember.. men don't handle pain like us ladies, so he may be very frustrated with himself and is taking it out on you. You should get out for a bit and let him think about his behavior. -
Is it possible that I got big just because I love food?
Goddardgo posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Or does there have to be an underlying issue? I mean, yes I have a hectic life, but I can't blame that on my weight. I didn't get big because I was unhappy or because I was emotionally scarred, I got totally unhealthy because one, I am lazy and never really found an exercise I actually liked (until after I was big and it hurt to do it) and two because I love food... The idea of wasting food that taste really good is a problem for me. My hardest thing is having a good dinner, and not finishing what I served myself.. I know that this is going to force me to slow it down and it will allow me the "tool" to stop me from overeating.. I know this is the right choice for me. I just wanted to get your thoughts.. do you think deep down I am really scarred somewhere inside and I just haven't discovered it, or has anybody just been in love with food the way I am..?' I know it's a nerdy question because nobody really knows me, but I wanted to know if this is the case with more people than I think. Thanks!! -
Are you really happy post sleevers?
Goddardgo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting closer to becoming approved for my surgery.. in the mean time, I sit and let my mind go crazy.. Today's thought... I wonder if those that have had the surgery are really happy? Does your life really improve mentally as you are progressing? I know that the sleeve is the choice for me, I just think that I am really starting to realize that this is really happening.. so I've got all of the emotions I know most of you had.. Thanks!! -

May 6th was a life change for me...
Goddardgo replied to MadamPrincess24's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am still pre op, but have read so many posts like yours and am worried myself about how I am going to feel after such a big decision. From what I have read, this is common and you will start feeling better soon and loving your new stomach.. hang in there, you've got this!! -
You have to think back to say March 1st, before you were sleeved and you would read these kinds of comments on here.. I chuckle a little because I am still pre op and oh what I would give to lose that much!!! You're doing great! Get out of your funk!
