Smooth Move Tea
disney2013 replied to SJMusicalman103's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I occasionally use smooth move tea. It does not give me cramps. You only need to drink one cup and you will go that day or the next. I also really like Natural Vitality Calm raspberry lemon magnesium supplement. You mix 2 teaspoons in Water. I like heating up 3 ounces water and adding it. -
Tracking your progress. is there an ap for that?

I use my fitness pal but I also like the features in Monitor your weight and Happy Scale. I use all three. They are free apps so you can download them all and see which ones you like best. -

Recommended supplement amounts
disney2013 replied to spunkyirishpunk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist recommends to all sleeve patients that they take a bariatric multivitamin, 500 mcg sublingual B12, 1500 mg calcium citrate, 5000 IUs D14, and 30 mg iron for premenopausal women (18 mg for men or post menopausal women) -
If you have a stall you may try upping your calories a little and definitely make sure you are getting in your protein. Our bodies are shocked into starvation mode and try to hold on to everything.

I probably should have taken a couple of extra days off but it really wasn't too bad. It was just physically draining. No they don't give you an abdominal binder. I did buy one and wore it the first 2 weeks. I did not wear it all of the time but it helped when I started hurting a little and helped me sit and stand straight. Too much bending hurt.
-
The first two days were pretty hard but mainly because of the nausea. I went back to work 6 days after surgery and was a little tired and exhausted but was able to get through the day. Each day gets much easier. Now I occasionally forget I had the surgery because I feel fine and I accidentally pick up my almost 2 year old.

Dr. Yu performed my surgery on 7/9. He is a fantastic surgeon and is very thorough and commuted to helping you reach your goals. The insurance adjuster was fabulous. I had previously been denied and she wrote a letter to my insurance company and kept calling them to follow up and they eventually approved the surgery.

I had the exact same problem. They told me it was a side affect of the pain medication and anesthesia. It went away on day 4.

Surgeons in houston
disney2013 replied to bandedgorjJess's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr Sherman Yu in Houston is amazing. -
At first I wasn't able to get much protein in but I am now up to 60-70 grams a day. The protein shakes I liked pre-op makes me gag now so I get my protein from Greek yogurt and I get a gladiator smoothie from Smoothie King at lunch which has 40 grams of protein.

Wow, you must have super human strength. I thought I was doing good just being able to walk and work and get all my fluids in. There is no way I could be exercising that much especially on clears. I am on full liquids and have been enjoying Greek yogurt.

Band to Sleeve; Weight Gain?
disney2013 replied to ChrissyLove's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my band removed and waited a year to get the sleeve. In that year I gained 50 of the 80 pounds I had lost with the sleeve. -
How is everyone doing? I went back to work yesterday and was a little uncomfortable and tired but made it thru my 9 hour workday. I was hurting some last night tho. I hope today goes a little better.
