    SC Southern Sleevers?

Hey y'all! I'm doing good. Losing about a pound a day. At the soft food stage. My stomach has been handling everything just fine. Haven't gotten sick once! I felt good enough to join a gym this week. Super yay! I'm REALLY excited to be gaining more energy! My bathroom activity has been troubled quite a bit tho. Dealing with a bit of head hunger at times and cravings still. But I haven't strayed from my diet. That's all I can say for now. Thank you guys for checking in on me!
  2. I was sleeved june 12! I got the Diet V8 Splash and have no problems and I'm having iced tea and such. I have been able to get in my 64 oz liquids and I personally am aiming (and reaching) 60g of Protein a day. It is an all day process! And I'm going this morning to get some smaller drinking glasses. It is true, I was drinking too fast with a larger glass.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

How's everyone doing? I'm tired :/ Not abnormal. And I know it was major surgery. I'm tellin ya - if anyone has a hiatal hernia repaired during their surgery, it's a doozie! I'm getting in my 64 oz fluids in. Wondering if i need more bc i am not needing to use the bathroom more than 2x a day. But this is SC sweating weather. But pre op i drank way more Water. Tho guidelines said to "aim for at least 40 grams protein", I'm trying to keep with the 60 grams. Been able to since I came home on Friday. I decided on the Centrum silver chewables. Got my Calcium citrate. Almost gagged on one of those today! Gonna pick up the sublingual B-12 tomorrow. I wanna do all I can to protect my hair!! That's all for now. Thanks for listening!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Yes, it took me an hour or so to get the whole drink down. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I haven't thrown anything up to this point! Yay!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Surgery went perfectly fine. The pain I was having real bad last night wasn't gas pain as I thought. It's the awfull feeling from the repair of the hiatal hernia. Pain meds just barely takes the edge off it! I am getting down my first full protein drink. Yay! Tea seems to setting better in my stomach than plain water. I got ZERO sleep last night. Horrible! But this afternoon, I'm feeling better and more in control. Realizing that the new way of eating and drinking begins NOW. Hope all others are doing well!
  8. I have awful pain that morphine isn't helping at all. It's way up just under the sternum and ribs. I'm dying! Is that gas or do I need different pain meds?

4 hours post op. oW!! They're right. The gas is painful and the pain meds don't make it hurt less. No liquids at all until tomorrow I can't believe i had the surgery.

  11. My NUT recommended the stock base. Like 'better than bouillon'. And reconstitute it. And my MIL is making me her vegetable beef soup just for the broth upon my request.

    Bipolar

Have you considered having your current treating psych do the eval? I felt comfortable having mine do it bc he knew despite my problems I had a great support system and was stable. He said the point of the psych eval is to make sure you are going in to the process stable.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

They said between 2-4. Pretty much 2 weeks is the bare minimum. I started at 3 weeks out because I was anxious to start losing weight. It just so happened that very day I got the call I was approved and surgery scheduled.
  15. To anyone who had some skin discoloration, has it lightened again since your surgery and resolution of diabetic symptoms?

    Coconut water?

Do you think it could be used in that first couple of weeks post op?

    Bi polor

At least maybe the weight loss will help with depression stemming from self image? I'm looking forward to relief from that... I'm also bipolar. I know some meds CAUSE weight gain, others are weight neutral. I just saw my psych a week ago and surgery is Wednesday. He said some adjustments may be necessary. I think it wld be due to side effects increasing bc of weight loss.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Yes, at Lexington Med center. Everything I've had done there has been a good experience so far. Nice facility. I was really stressed out about things until I was able to talk to the doc. That visit really put me at ease. I'm ready for it.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Starting to pack for the hospital! Wednesday morning is my surgery. I can't wait to start feeling better. Thursday I had my preop with Dr. Antonetti and had lost 10# at that point. I was getting quite stressed out and nervous. But talking with him really made me feel better. Have you guys checked out bariatricfoodie.com ? I love that site! She has a lot of great articles and recipes.

    mouth feels dry

Have you tried flavorings - the mio, crystal light, etc. Dry mouth has been a long time problem for me and worse now that I am on pre-op diet. The flavorings give my mouth something to savor and salivate over!
  22. Thank you for sharing! I started this process at 230 lbs and wondered where I would end up. And also, yes, thank you for sharing that your skin CAN bounce back! I'm 34 and my surgery is next week. Time will tell how things turn out for me. **looking forward to the journey** and you have given me some extra hope in a few areas!
