I really needed too read this thread' so disappointing was my Dr second revisit with the scale down half a pound. I was sleeved 8/26 and lost 16 1/2 lbs since surgery total of 33. When I suggested a platu he said it was unlikely at this stage, maybe I should have said stall? Anyway left there so depressed knowing I walked my first mile two days ago and was so proud.

Anyone Else Not Have To Do a Pre-op Diet?
gourmetone replied to terrilo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a 12 day liquid pr-op diet and it had many good benefits. It allowed me time to slow down my mind and mentally prepare for this unreversable purcedure. With the livers quality improving was a safer surgery. If the simple requirements of this prep is so horrible how will you feel when you have no choice. I think you willingly accepting this immediately give you power to start your journey inpowered. I did it and now 11 days post op and down 30 pounds. My BMI was 47 -

gourmetone replied to darleenmr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would like to have more to say on the subject other than I've struggled with this process and know that after all this and all the weight loss and gain years prior that I and you both will succeed. As we wait for the ultimate tool that we have needed for so long we will use it and appreciate the journey. I just got approval from BCBS in two hours after submitting and will call Dr. tomorrow to see where I go from here. Just know your capable of this change with sucess. -

Hair loss...African Americans
gourmetone replied to DeezJeanz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks also I'm the lady that had asked the question but didn't know at the time how to find the forum so glad you took up the baton. I wear my hair locked so brushing through won't be a problem although when I was and condition I brush all roots (feels so good) wasn't looking forward to my locks dropping off after such a long time getting them to lock. Ty so much for the encouragement. Has anyone had the problem of eating everything that they think they won't be able to have post op??? -
I'm so glad I logged on tonight and read your entry, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes on my journey and feeling so tired of the process to success. I struggling with losing weight prior to finishing the paper work. I know I've made the right choice to have this done and have read many stories of others struggles and victories. But I'm so dieted out that just this final process seem to be slipping thru my hands. I just need help and the "tool" of being sleeved is all I need to have my efforts move me towards my goals. I wish you a speedy healing and all the sucess you deserve.

gourmetone commented on Kristin1969's blog entry in Kristin1969's Blog
I flew first class recently because the last time I flew coach when I got off the plane my whole side was numb, LOL I also purchased my own seat extender so I wouldn't feel embarrassed asking for one. Can't wait to fly coach again with out cramps on the hips. -

Struggling With Comfort Food
gourmetone replied to Jolie_KeMi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So glad to read this, I just starting on my journey and only have two more appts to be filed. But ever since I've made this decision I've had a problem wanting the things that I think I will miss. I know I'm ready to be sleeved and obiviously I need help with my weight and if I was told I would never be able to have a piece of cake after this, more than likely I would have headed back to Weight Watchers. So just seeing that some of my comfort food won't kill me makes me feel I can do this. -
