  4. Hi everyone! I had my Lapband removed and was revised to sleeve on 5/28 and am currently down 43lbs from surgery 22 days ago. Surgery Weight 406 Current Weight 363 I'm currently on my period and my last BM was 6/14 so I am speculating these are contributing factors to my minimal 2lb loss this week which was quite discouraging. So happy to be part of such a supportive group of sleevers. Sent from my iPhone using VST

NSAIDS after Gastric Sleeve Surgery ?

My surgeon says a sure fire way to cause damage internally is to take NSAIDs. I have five herniated discs and have been in pain management since I had the Lap Band in 2010 because I needed further pain intervention. Steroid epidural injections have really helped. If necessary, opiate therapy may be required if Tylenol doesn't help. That's why I was originally referred to pain management, because my pcp could no longer give me what I needed for relief. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Complications ?

Hi! I was revised on 5/28 and had struggled with severe pain for about 12 days post op. I'm pretty much pain free now unless I do something like bend over or lay on my side. I don't know what happened in surgery as I wasn't told of any complications in the OR but my surgery took three hours longer than expected and I was released into critical care ICU recovery where I awoke to an intubation tube being yanked from inside of me. YUCK. My POST OP complication is an incision that did not heal properly in my bellybutton so I have been on antibiotics for a week and since that wasn't working, had to have my incision drained and then packed. This has to be changed daily. It's NOT FUN and I am only now coming to terms with it that it will be a while for it to heal. On the positive side, I have lost 41lbs in 16 days. Unreal to me, but has been verified on two different doctors scales (I thought my surgeons scale was broken!). I am still wondering if I made the right choice and am not sure if I will know for certain until I am completely healed. I wish you no complications! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    PROTEIN TRACKER APP

Hi everyone! I'm on day 16 post op and am struggling to get my daily goal Protein in so I decided to try tracking it. I had been using My Fitness Pal but was not satisfied with the ability to track my protein from my phone so I searched the App Store for "protein tracker" and there are some pretty cool apps dedicated to tracking not only calories but the macros as well. I settled on "Bulk Up! Protein Tracker for iPhone" and I am loving it! Just a heads up! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    15 DAYS POSTOP FOLLOWUP

I do have unflavored protein, so I plan to add that to any cream soup I may have. I am a vegetarian so in addition to being unable to tolerate sweets, I am unable to tolerate anything with an animal flavor so the chicken soup is out. I flew over to the site to order the cheese sauce because that is something I would eat absolutely and it's out of season and out of stock. I am so desperate that I emailed them begging for the opportunity to purchase it now because I simply can not wait until October! Thanks for your suggestions! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Thank you, I'm honestly not quite sure it's possible and asked the nurse if the scale was broken! She laughed at me! Sent from my iPhone using VST

  14. At my appointment today I found out good news and bad news. The good is that I lost 16lbs this week for a total of a whopping 41lbs lost since surgery 16 days ago (406 to 365) The bad is that my belly button incision was not healing fast enough so the Fluid behind my incision needed to be drained and pack. It has to be changed every day. YUCK. very uncomfortable feeling and it will be 2+ weeks for this to heal. I was scolded for low Protein intake and not moving enough. I am doing my best now to get as much protein as possible - I am not tolerating the sweetness of shakes so I am going to try powdered skim milk mixed in skim milk (aka "double milk") and hope that will get me closer to my goal of 70g of protein a day. Isn't that crazy! I have no clue how I will get there it seems like such a high goal when I am only on full liquids. I have a follow up in seven days for them to check on the incision and see my progress regarding increase in protein intake and exercising levels. Sent from my iPhone using VST
