Don't make my STUPID mistake!
Juleeann replied to ruthgal1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Ruthgal1, As i read your blog i called my husband in to read to him as well. He asked me did you write this lol i said no this is someone else. i had the same exact thing happen to me the scale kept moving so i kept suffering. I also have Dr Collier and he is God sent. However i did do about 2 months of trying to get the swelling down and still couldnt eat. He unfilled me completly and still couldnt hardly get liquids down...he said he had never had a patient like me Go freaking figure is what i thought. but long story short i was rebanded on June 5 2009 it took him 6 1/2 hrs to get my band out he also repaired a hital hernia. My scar tissue was extra thick thats what took so long. I'm so greatful to have him as my Doctor he came and seen me everyday in the hospital. yes i had to stay for 3 days that was unexpected but i was in terrible shape from not eating or drinking he had to fatten me up a little bit. i was banded June 2007 almost 2yrs anniversary....i have lost 105 lbs so i do love my band but there will not be a number 3 for me. i do hope you can get the band to slip back without surgery. but know this that Dr Collier is a perfecionist and is a wonderful surgery Dr and will go to great lengths to take care of you. -
Stefanie thank you so much for explaning that to me because i was starting to get really frustrated but it all make since now i will continue to work out i usually do 30elliptical 30treadmill 30weight lifting. but i'm going to research on that website you told me about and get a better routine. it's funny i would never in a million years would of considered me as somone that would go to a gym and work heck no i don't like to break a sweat could be the reason i ended up with wls but i really enjoy it now. its so wierd but fun (well except for the days i'm sore not so fun). anyhow thank you so much for the encouragement and great tips. conrgats to Suzzie you go girl that scale is on a downward spiral :clap2:

Hello to everyone i haven't been on here much but i'm glad to see everyone doing well. i really need to vent though. i started exercising 3 weeks ago 5 days a week for about 1hr 1/2 each day. i got a fill 2 weeks ago and lost 2 pounds due to 2 day liquid diet. So with good restriction and exercising that much i thought heck yeah it will start dropping off but ooooo no it didn't i haven't lost anything in 2weeks. yesterday i took off from the gym first time mind u in 3 weeks so i thought ok i'm going to be up those 2 pounds since i didn't exercise but no i lost another pound 1 pound i'm very happy to be down another pound but mad because the scale isn't moving the way i hoped it would exercising like that. does anyone have and idea why the scale won't move. could it be lack of calories??? i don't count them but i can still eat just know where near as much. Thanks for the ear.

Pre-Op Protein Supplements / Collier Patients
Juleeann replied to jennyl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No i don't mind keeping in touch. I really wasn't nervous about the surgery until the day of just for a little while and that soon passed i was more excited than anything. The 2 week pre-op was pretty tough in the beginning but as it when on it got easier i had a hard time with the drinking the protien but i've come to like it I mix mine with 1% milk (taste better to me than the water) I'm feeling pretty good now the surgery really isn't that bad i took the pain med for 2 days where your port is being attached to your stomach was the soriest part. I had no problem with gas pain either. Getting up and down for a few days was uncomfortable but other than that it was fine i had it on Friday and went back to work on the following Wed. my Best friend had hers right behind me and she went back to work on Tue. I have several friends thats been banded and one of them has lost 103lbs she is on the Dr Spivak commercial. I'm am very glad i did this i'm still in the healing stage but very excited to move on to the really loosing weight period i will get my first fill in about 3 more weeks. And of course post op your also on a diet of liquids for a while but your kinda swollen and bloated and you just don't get hungry. I would eat a pudding and be full it is crazy. My hunger is slowly returning but nothing like pre surgery. If you have any more questions let me know i'm kinda a newbie to but i will help you with whatever i can. -
