Hi all! Just stopping in to say a quick hello. Been on vacation with my kids for a couple weeks. I was hoping to pop on and catch up....silly me! I'll have to save the catch up for when I get back - too many pages to read! I had my first fill before I left, and I can't say as I'm feeling a whole lot of restriction. I do get full on less than before, but not nearly like I expected. I am scheduled for another fill end of next week - hoping for better results. My weight loss isn't really moving much, but considering the kinds of things I've been eating on vacation, I'm just glad it hasn't gone up!!! I can eat pretty much anything right now - steak, Pasta...you name it. We had cake for my son's birthday last week, and that was a little difficult to get down. Had to drink a big glass of Water with it. Not something I would do often, but dang...it was good! I hope you are all doing great!!! I'm looking forward to catching up next week!

Hi everyone! I went to the doc today and had my first fill...and survived! really, it wasn't bad at all. I was freaked out for no reason. Didn't take long and didn't hurt beyond the numbing shot. I go back on the 31st for my 2nd fill. So back to liquids for today. Have to say, I really didn't miss soup!!!

I almost forgot from my list.... new boobs! I have the unfortunate distinction of being one of the few women on the planet who is plus sized without big boobs! I promised myself that when I make my goal weight, I'm getting some. might throw in a belly piercing for good measure.

I love the lists! Great motivation!!! Here's mine.... Shopping in the "normal" departments and cute little boutiques shorts not riding up (I so hate that) being able to wear a bathing suit in public taking my kids to the water park more energy to keep up with my kids feeling confident and sexy taking the stairs without getting winded I actually have a goal hanging in my closet. It's a beautiful dress that I bought right before I got pregnant with my son. At the time, I was dieting and had about 5 pounds to lose before it would fit nicely. I've never worn it - still has the tags on. My son is turning 11 this month. When I can finally put on that dress will be one of the happiest of my life, as it will be a big accomplishment for me.

Hi all! Sorry I've been MIA for awhile - it's been crazy at work and then busy with my kids in the evenings. Quick update... my band life right now is really good! I'm on total solid food and so far, no problems. ok, except that i think i'm eating too much. i go to the doc on friday, and i'm expecting he'll do a fill. I'm feeling great though and have energy again! yeah!!! last night i took my kids for a walk around the neighborhood after dinner and that was sooo great. i'm thinking we'll have to make a habit of it. we just had a casual stroll, but it was nice to get out as a family...also very relaxing to not be rushing off to anything. weight loss is moving along again, just slowly. not sure what i expected, but i think the initial drop got me thinking i'd be losing faster. reality sucks sometimes! Kathy, I totally get you on the emotions after surgery. I cried a couple of times in the first few days following mine. Then I started getting irritable. Seems to be smoothing out now...or maybe it's just a happy mood swing! Lynette, so glad your first fill went ok! I'm a little freaked about getting one. They gave me shots in the stomach to prevent blood clots while I was in the hospital. This sounds less fun. hope everyone is doing great!

I never realized how much I drank until my assistant pointed it out one day over lunch (she hardly drinks at all with meals). She thinks I'm part camel.

I was also told no water with meals, but I'm drinking little bits while I'm getting used to food to help it go down. My doc is more concerned with my nutrition right now (that I'm getting enough). I have started regular food early, so I'd rather drink a little than get stuck. Long term, nothing to drink 30 before and at least 30 after. I knew that would be hard for me....and it is. I tend to drink a LOT with my meals and am finding myself very thirsty while eating.

CeCe, it sounds like every doc is different, but in all the surgeries I've had, they've never told me no deoderant. I went into mine with full makeup, just like any other day. of course, the mascara was a bad choice...I looked like a racoon the next morning! Only instruction I got was absolutely no jewelery. I have a piercing on the top of my ear which i've never had to remove, and they even made me get rid of it, along with all my toe rings. never felt so naked in all my life! hope all goes well for you and everyone else scheduled for tomorrow!!!

Thanks Jeanie! It's one of my favorite things about this board...having others going through the same things to tell you that you aren't nuts! (or at least feel a little batty with you!). I feel like a hungry alhambra bottle! The little air bubble gurgles in my tummy have me feeling like a one woman symphony - especially after I drink!

Marcy, I'm glad to know you are doing so well with food. I'm supposed to be on my mushies for another few days, but have half way given up on that...was driving me nuts! Nice to know that it's working for you - makes me feel better about moving forward! :grouphug: I've started slowly trying to eat normal foods. So far, I've only been doing 1 meal per day of non-mush, but still trying to pick things that are on the softer side. It's going ok so far. It's weird to me that I totally feel the food in my pouch. I'm not sure I feel "full" in a traditional sense though. I stopped eating only so I wouldn't have any problems. So I feel the food, but I also feel hungry. Is anyone else having trouble reading their full signals or finding that full feels different? Or maybe I'm just losing my mind....

Auntie Phyl, I had a lot of coughing within a couple days of surgery. I wasn't sure if it was a cold or from the surgery. Still not sure! My doc told me the anethesia does that to some people, and to just keep coughing to work it out. I highly recommend the breathing exercises...they seem to help some. Wishing I had done it more. I'm over 2 weeks since surgery, and still have the cough.

Patti C, We were talking about this yesterday - it seems to be a fairly common thing for the weight loss to fluctuate when you start changing up the diet. I started my mushies, and the weight loss stopped. Within a couple of days, I was up nearly a pound. Other people have said they've had gain issues too. Hang in...it seems to be temporary. Happy to report I'm starting to lose again. But I fully expect that when I start regular foods, it might go back up a little. I'm looking at it like gravity...what goes up, must come down!
