Hi all just checkin in today marks my 5 months since sleeved i am feeling great HW 250 SW 237 CW 155 i still can't seem to process how small i am lol but it def feels good =) i still feel pretty restricted dont get hungry much i dont even think i reach 800 calories a day, hairloss is crazy i really hope it stops soon =( protein goal of 60 grams is still a bit hard to reach so i have added a protein shake a day which has 30 grams but i do have my days when i just dont want or better say cant stand the shakes wierd i know but overall i am extremely happy where i am now i am still loosing pretty quick i'd say between 2 to 3 lbs a week my goal right now would probably be between 135-140lbs but if i was to loose no more i would be happy where i'm at it also scares me that i am only 5 months out and can still loose up to 18 months out like we were told yiiikes lol

Hi MzGEE absoluetly it did help, my fear also was that my insurance wouldn't pay just because it was PCOS but to my surprise it was one of the top out of maybe like 6 conditions that i was asked if i had and was immediately checked off on my paperwork when i first saw my surgeon. That and the fact that my BMI was at 43 did it for me. I have Harvard Pilgrim for Insurance everything went by sooo Smooth and super Quick everything from start to surgery was 2 months, the insurance approved in 1 day. I am sure you'll be perfectly fine, soo sorry to hear you are going through so much my hair was falling of also because of the Metformin pills and my sugar was out of wack because of those pills i had to stop them, now my only complaint is still the hairloss but its now its due to the weightloss i just hope i dont go bald =( best of wishes you'll be fine like i said before, one of the things i did was call my insurance to make sure if they covered the WLS they said yes and i also asked the lady that was in charge of putting all the paperwork together to send in for insurance approval and with no doubt her response to me was you'll be fine for approval =)

Thank you yeah i still can't believe i've gone from 250 lbs to 169 and counting its just amazing i am sooo happy i cant wait to see what i weigh a few more months from now =) hairloss is very stressfull but the more you get stressed the worst it is so try to look at the bright side we are loosing weight and it will grow back. I'm a hairdresser and trust me its hard 2 deal with my hair has always been one of my best features =( Nioxin shampoo treatment i hear is good i personally have never had to use it, i take biotin as well and use Organix biotin and collagen thick and fuller shampoo i get it at walmart i like the way it makes my hair feel, and i've also read that increasing protein intake and taking your Vitamins is a MUST to help with the hairloss it wont stop it but it may slow it down which is better than nothing and some say that the hairloss should last between 3 to 6 months but then again everybody i different, i have a friend almost 2 years out and she says her hair keeps falling out pretty bad and uts extremely thin but she stopped taking her vitamins a while agoo so yeah staying on track with the vitamins i'm sure has alot to do with it and it will help. -

Hi MzGee fortunately i didn't have 2 go through that process i have Harvard Pilgrim but i do see some people say that if they get prior records of like programs that they have done to loose weight and prior records from doctors that it does help. I am about to start helping my hubbys aunt who wants to have the surgery and she will have to do the 6 months prior to having surgery if i find out any info i def will let you know =) -

I have PCOS and my symptoms were pretty bad i had to be put on Metformin and Birth Control to try and get my periods to come because i would not get it for months, i went up to 250 lbs my highest weight ever, i was sleeved on September 10, 2013 and i can tell you i am no longer on any medication not for PCOS, not for my back or any other problem for that matter, i now get my periods regularly ever month i am at 170 lbs and i feel GREAT, i went from a size 2x or 22 to a size 12 and still dropping quick, i bought a pair of size 12 skinny jeans about 3 weeks ago and already they're loose on me my daughter is loving it because she gets to keep them i have to admit i haven't been excercising for about a month and a half but am going back this coming week now that the holidays are finally over =) idk why they would tell you it's not recommended for women with pcos, my surgeon recommended it 100% its less riskier and still has great results.

Hi everyone i decided to share some pics of myself b4 and updated ones, yesterday i went shopping with my oldest child and saw a few friends that i hadn't seen in a while and i must say their reactions when they saw me was PRICELESS and felt AMAZING =) i know i still have a looooong way 2 go but at almost 3 months out the feeling is just incredible my stamina, energy is just over the roof i am soo happy with the new me i have to admit i still can't get used to NOT shopping in the plus size section all of my pre-surgery clothes were sizes 1x 2x and even 3x, 18, 20, and 22, and now everytime i walk in a store i automatically walk towards plus sizes and my daughter grabs me and says mom you are no longer in those sizes lol gotta love her now i am size medium and by the looks of it i need to start buying small from now on pant size 12 ....words just can't explain how wierd but GREEEAAT it is, i feel VERY restricted as far as eating, sad part my hair has started to fall and my scalp hurts alot, but its all worth it anyways sorry so long thanks 4 reading Surgery Date September 10th 2013 Highest Weight 250 lbs When i started my weightloss surgery journey i was at 237 lbs Current Weight 170 lbs and counting

Thanks Lioness813 Congrats 2 you, Recovery from surgery i have to say was great no complications at all thank God the only thing was that after surgery i could not drink my protein shakes the smell, the taste, i just can't and i haven't been able to do so since so i try and get my protein from my foods, i don't feel hungry much of the time, a daily sample menu for me would be vitamins in the morning, i have a boiled egg for breakfast or some oatmeal, then 2 hours later i'll have some fruit and cheese, then if i get hungry for lunch i'll have some tuna with 3 or 4 unsalted crackers then dinner would be a chicken salad, or chicken and vegetables or soup, i have already tried most of the foods i used to eat b4 surgery already like bread and rice which i dont eat much of because i feel are too strong on my little stomache, but i haven't had any problems with any of the foods yet i just feel my stomache very restricted still like 2 or 3 spoons or bites of something and i am full then in the evenings i take my calcium vitamins and a snack before bed like a fruit, or sugar free hot cocoa something light
