why so many "my journey with so and so in Mexico" posts
liteNsun replied to ********'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I appreciate all the info. and the name of docs and facility and even the vacation type of experience. But each step by step info. did seem a bit contrived. Overall, I do believe these are legit patients but it is too much a hard sell it feels. Just my opinion. -
how to get the protein that is needed
liteNsun replied to tawanna1975's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
what flvr pwdr did you use with the greek yogurt mix? -
I am guessing here but can't you switch to Over the counter meds for pain to avoid prescription meds?.But best to check with doc on which ones he prefers. And for pre op people, this is always a good question to know and ask pre op of your doc so to have on hand already.

So cute! Now you have another reason to get up and go for walks a lot.

Rash and itching on stomach
liteNsun replied to DeniseM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Benadryl will help with rash or allergic reaction often. -
look no further! all the recipes you want!
liteNsun replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Food and Nutrition
I signed up and it had a lot of user friendly helpers for me. Thx for spreading the info. -
My mother had a great number of helpful motivators she always stated to us when needed. You want to accomplish a lot for all the lost time and that is definitely worth pursuing. But life does happen in steps or when opportunities present themselves. SO....My mom would say, "Just DO The Next Indicated Thing, And If You Don't Know What That Is, It Will Be Indicated To You". Oh Yeah! she might also state "Happiness can be found in the journey and not just the destination. I hope you don't spend time on losses long but start moving towards your new desires. Best wishes to you.

I am Pre-op and this is a very great mental approach to take going in, I will do it just as you have. I have to remember COMFORT IS A WANT NOT A NEED. Managing my new weight loss will be my need.

10 days post-op and Im hungry!
liteNsun replied to NewMe_05/29's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Remember to endorse yourself for your accomplishment thus far. You have A LOT of physical changes and emotional changes. Acknowledge them as they are coming up and accept them. "This too shall pass". Distract yourself with recipes or positive activities. Cover your basis by following your diet plan to a T. And soon the desires will subside as you change your lifestyle daily. -
I wanted to punch her in her naturally skinny face!
liteNsun replied to thetattooedlady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Remember....SUCCESS is your best defense. I think insensitive skinny people who use thoughtless comments about our plight or choices want others to see them as exceptional and want us to think they are superior. If you join this successful choice of weight management(which we All work at), then that just makes her Average. You will soon get the positive attention for overcoming your hardships and she can not feel superior over you. -
Sounds like the perfect ingredients. zero zero zero. And no artificial.....I would love to know where I can get it also.

I have a supportive fiance' in regards to going through with the sleeve surgery. He knows I am anxious to have this done quickly, surgery date is June 19th. I have only let him in on my plans for 2 weeks thus far. That said, now he is worrying a lot today that I will not be the same person post op, that I will change. I reassure him that my life is exactly the way I want but don't want the weight to wreck it all for me. He is even worried about me being very irritable due to all the physical changes. How have others comforted loved ones that are very worried they will not get the person back they love.

Thx for that MOST important question and answer(s). I will be sure to have that on hand first and foremost. To the store this week!

Emotional Changes Post op.
liteNsun replied to liteNsun's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank You everyone. That is some realistic information for me going forward. I know it sounds like I jumped on this fast. My identical twin sister went through the gastric bypass some years past. She had a lot of resistance with others not wanting her to get it. I supported her through her incredible journey. That is why I set my procedure up before sharing it. I wanted all to know that I did not want a democracy when it comes to my body. I had a lot of resistance from my then husband when I did an abdominalplasty years ago, which I am ever so grateful for the procedure and it minimized damages from pregnancies. I am happy I have support from my fiance' and I guess I will have to explain that I will change and will include him. BUT, I would hate how emotionally horrible I will be if I can't control my weight going forward. I let him know that would be more destructive in all ways and he seemed to understand that most. I really did like all your feedback to me. THX again. -
I dated after a 20 yr marriage. At 47, I found very nice men to date on free dating website (POF). I found men much more sincere at this age and wanting to make the next go around in a relationship more meaningful and lasting. Of course there is ones I did not prefer myself, but I am now in a long term engagement and I felt all the wonderful feelings of being in love that I would of had when I was young. It was a lot of fun to date for me. I hope it will be for you.

I think it is good to show your eagerness of wanting the job with them, but also negotiate it "sort of", ask them, stating ....I have a previously planned upcoming personel event and I need to take a designated time off, "Would this put the promotion at risk?, I really would not want to do that." They will appreciate your honesty and calculate it into your transition time. I have seen that work. Much better then a false start, where you start, then leave soon, then return. They may think that you aren't as devoted. Just my opinion.

I get very claustrophobic with masks over my face, happens every time I have had surgery. I literally gag. I go to the nasal canula and I can manage that. Do they have them available for your cpap?

Am i the only one w/o a scale?
liteNsun replied to a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't use a scale and don't plan on using one. It is too depressing. I only "look" at the numbers when required. MY Clothes let me know what I need to know. Post op, I plan on waiting for weekly intervals so the numbers don't keep me fretting. -
Fever four days out
liteNsun replied to thebearishere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Normal body temp can goes as high as 99.1 F. Also, wait ten mins after any eating or drinking fluids to get a reading. But continued increase of temp. is when you need to read aftercare instructions you may have gotten and call doc then see what he recommends. He may give you a quick remedy or reassurance. -
anyone not lost hair after taken Biotin?
liteNsun replied to erics300's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started taking Biotin, 4.99 at walmart (a months supply "Hair, Skin, and Nails"ison the label), a month before surgery date. I plan to continue taking them post op and see if it works. Another poster said they wish they would of taken it a month before surgery date. I thought I would. I will post a few month post op if it helps. -
Hmmm! Definitely want to talk to my doc about that, since I wear one already for my medication issues. Thanks for sharing.

Question about pain
liteNsun replied to Jr-Castillo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try the OTC (over the counter) meds, there are liquid pain meds that could help you with pain and discomfort, if you prefer to stay away from prescription meds. I haven't had the procedure yet. I have allergies to so many pain meds. I will rely on the OTC. Contact your doc to find out most effective types. A heating pad helps too. -
How dismissive and rude that doc is. The up sides are, you don't need him for your mental health needs and YOU got what You wanted out of it by jumping through these hoops. KEEP JUMPING. You will land exactly in the place you want.

Wow! 3 days post-op is so much better than 2 days post-op!
liteNsun replied to Flup's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is an encouraging update. I have mine on June 19th. I hope I can recover just as fast and be up and about, feeling like I want to be up and "running" quickly. Thanks for your post. -
Politely asking, Why even start down that slippery slope? Suggestion may be to go find fun recipes that excite you, and have benefits for you. It is good of you that you paused and asked the question to eat or not.
