    From Chicken to Fish

Thanks everyone so much for the help!!!
  5. I am about 7 weeks post op and having a very hard time getting in my protein. Mostly because I'm having a very hard time eating meat. I can't stand the taste, smell, or texture of chicken, beef, or pork. I was definitely a careworn pre op, so not sure what's going on. I don't eat fish, haven't eaten it since I was a kid. I reached out to my dietitian and she mentioned trying fish. Has anyone gone from hating fish to liking fish post op? For those who like fish, what fish should I try first that isn't so fishy and won't scare me away the first time?

    Self Pay Louisiana

I had surgery with Dr. Gachassin in Lafayette, he was amazing. We were not sure if insurance would cover at first, so we did ask how much self pay would be. I believe our estimate was around 12K.
  7. I feel the exact same way. I'm 6 weeks out and feel find no enjoyment in food and have no interest in food after about 4 bites. I really hope it doesn't last.
  8. I hit a stall at week 3, lasted about 4 days. I kept up with my water and protein and now I'm loosing again.

    Am i screwed?

I had a chicken breast from Popeyes the day before surgery and the dr still said my liver looked great. Upset with myself for taking such a big risk now that I look at it
  10. I need some help! I'm about 5 weeks post op and about 3 days ago I started feeling pretty yucky. The sight and smell of food really makes me nauseated. I've only been able to take in a few protein shakes, water, and some soup. I was doing really really good up until now. Monday, I started taking birth control pills again at the request of my surgeon. I know my hormones are already out of whack from the weight loss and surgery. When I try to take in something solid, it's hard to get it down, swallow, and keep it down. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be my hormones trying to figure out what the hell is going on? Or something more serious like a stricture or leak? My husband also had the surgery about 11 weeks ago and never experienced this.

wording to use for CIGNA approval

The letter from your PCP has to say that you are cleared for surgery and he recommends for surgery. Both my husband and I got denials at first and the wording was part of the denial.

    Cigna gone crazy?

Good Luck to you, I'm very anxious to hear if you've gotten approval. My fate is in Cigna's hands as well, so it would feel great to know that they've approved someone
