October Sleevers - Who else
bubba6377 replied to clefofcividale's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
One week post op and I'm down 12 pounds. I was feeling really well today, so I replaced the hallway light fixtures and started painting the hall. Crazy that two days ago I couldn't get out of bed without pain meds. -

I'm on day three and waiting to be discharged. Amazing what some rest, pain killers, and hot shower can do to the spirits. -

October Sleevers - Who else

As the countdown to liquid diet gets closer and closer; my anxiety gets higher and higher even though I know everything will be fine. I just can't wait for this to be over and to hear family say how much weight I lost at the Christmas get togethers. -

October 24 in Michigan. I start liquids next week, after 6 months of waiting, things are steam rolling now. -
Lifting weights prevents a lot of the extra skin issue.

Super illegal to transfer prescription meds. You can take them to your local police station for safe disposal.

Denial of sleep study
bubba6377 replied to Phillys1stlady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have BCBS but in MI. They had me do a home sleep study first. I didn't pass that, so then they approved a sleep study. Two sleep studies later I ended up with a CPAP. -
Time off for desk jobs?

I never considered the lack of focus. That's going to make my college courses difficult. -
I'm scheduled to sleeve around the same time as you and I am also in college. I talked to my professors and they were all understanding so long as I bring them documentation. I may have to take some tests independently of the class but my teachers say it's easy to work with.

I noticed you have tattoos, did they change at all during the weight loss process?

It is looking like my surgery will be around Halloween and I'm hoping to drop 60 pounds by Christmas. I am already in an exercise routine and i have very supportive friends/family. So I'm curious, how much initial weight loss did everyone have?! What exercise programs were you doing?! How long before the lady folks started eyeing you? lol

I am curious about this as well. I'm still two months out from pre-op and at the gym almost every day. I really want to get ripped as I lose weight. I'm 6'3" and I have always been pretty strong. I don't want to lose any of the lean mass that's hidden under my gut!

I spent the last 20 minute reading this thread start to finish. I dropped my water bottle about half way. I don't have a sleeve date yet but I can't wait to see the little guy again. I already have a high sex drive so I'm hoping post-op will be a crowd pleaser. lol

This may be shrewd but both if you lost weight and you're discovering your bodies again. Why not be swingers? Statistics show that swingers have the best marriages.

Getting psych eval tomorrow
bubba6377 replied to extracat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to take one about 2 weeks ago. It was the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and was almost 600 questions. I fell asleep half way through the test. Haha I'm curious what these tests are looking to find or not find in regards to WLS. I called this morning to get my results, waiting to here back from the shrink today. Just a heads up, the test starts the moment you say hi to the doctor. The test can tell a lot about you and even if you lied, are "too good", or got bored and started filling in answer bubbles. -
keep having feelings of regrets
bubba6377 replied to toy27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone. I am still in the phase of doing my insurance approval and first time posting on the forum. The 18 year thing seems unrealistic. I am 350 and 31 years old. My doctor reassured me that doing the sleeve could add another 30 years to my life as opposed to not doing anything. I'm nervous as hell about making diet changes and sticking to them. But it took 31 years to get into this mess then what's a few years to get out of it? Gotta stay positive.
