honeylove replied to Bluesea71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5'2". Surgery was 12/12/13 and my surgery weight was 193. I am approximately 10 weeks out and now weigh 151. My goal weight according to my bariatric surgeon is 135. I'm quite content where I'm at now. -

I was wondering if not being able to drunk was normal. I too can not get drunk nor do I like the taste anymore. Any alcohol turn up my stomach, its just disgusting to me right now. -
When did you go back to work?
honeylove replied to sunny2day's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jaime Kissinger, I was very exhausted and tired. I slept every chance I got and on my days off, I slept the first 24 hours. Thank goodness my hubby and kids were so supportive. I just started having more energy and less sleepy last week, bout 4 weeks post op. I am forever greatful and appreciative that I had a fantastic recovery despite not getting the proper rest. -
When did you go back to work?
honeylove replied to sunny2day's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to work the same day I discharged from the hospital. I was able to work 3rd shift the first 2 days and resumed my regular 2nd shift at 5 days post op. If I could have, I would have taken 2 weeks off but I couldn't. Luckily everything turned out good, great recovery. I was very exhausted though. I was sleeved on 12/12/13 and discharged and back to work on 12/14/13. -
I was sleeved on 12/12/13 at Hartford Hospital by Dr. Papasavos. Its has been a great recovery so far. Dr. Papasavos is fantastic!!!!

When were you sleeved?

I too feel hungry (I'm 10 days post op) but I don't think its hunger rather than the acid or something. Every time I feel hungry I eat Jello.

When will i start to feel ok?
honeylove replied to Sabredy12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 12/12/13 as well. I introduced Protein shakes to my diet yesterday and felt a little betters. Every day I feel better than the previous. My body always lets me know if I am doing to much because I would be sleeping in 5 minutes lol I had my surgery 12/12 and while I am feeling better everyday there is also another set back each day. While today I wasn't as sore but I'm as weak as water!! Getting fed up now -
Driving Right After Surgery?
honeylove replied to dreamscometrue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not taking any time off of work due to being a new hire and I.have a 6 month probation period and I do not have the luxury of taking the needed time. My doc office wrote a note for me to work 3rd.shift instead of my regular 2nd shift. I work at a juvenile detention center so I pretty much sit on my butt all day pushing buttons from a console. On 3rd shift, every one is sleeping so I don't have to do much of nothing. -
I have my pre op appt Oct. 28, any one from CT
-
No I do not. I would like to but I just started a new job working 2nd shift.
-
How is your recovery thus far?
-
What is the most difficult part that you experienced so far with you learning about your new stomach and body
-
That sounds great. Sounds like you had a great recovery and I hope my recovery is as successful as yours. Dr. Papasavas is my surgeon as well.

Controlling Your Weight Loss After You.have Been Sleeved Is It Possible?
honeylove replied to sleevinIT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is schedule for 12/12/13. We can be sleeve buddies -
You can take tylenol

I only went to 2 support groups. I found it to be beneficial. I started a new job (2nd shift) so I won't be able to go to any more support groups unless they offer them during the day.

I'm not taking any time off. My job is not strenous or physically demanding. I plan on watching movies all shift with the residents. -
