I may be an odd duck but I love the heat. I worked last summer outside digging and running a wheel barrow in the worst of it and, outside of the cramps at night, it suited me fine. You just have to keep chugging Water and gatorade and hit pickle juice when the cramps start.

Okay, I did read the whole post. I have to say that I am proud that you are reaching out because a part of you knows that you are making some seriously bad decisions. You apparently have some issues in your personal life that need to be addressed with a therapist and I wish you the best of success with that. You have been given some very good advice on here and everything is up to you. There are some things you can do to make your new life a success irregardless of where you live or how well you can cook. If you are in a college setting I am sure there are plenty of people around you that can help you with the cooking tips. If not, we are here for you. Just ask there is enough good cooks and supportive people on here that will walk you through your cooking. You have heard this enough times but I am going to say it again. Stay away from the sliders! They are mentally anguishing you and probably stalling your weight loss. On top of that they make you crave them more to the point of driving a sleever crazy.........me included!! I am going to give you some easy quick foods that can be purchased to fill you up and I am inviting everyone else to add to that list.
    Beef Jerky
    cheese Stick
Hard boiled eggs (You can buy these preboiled at the grocery store)
    Summer sausage
    tuna
    chicken salad
    almonds
    Premier Protein shakes
SF Jello (not in the shot form )
    rotisserie chicken,
    fish from the deli
    Subway chopped salad
    greek yogurt
    fruit melons and berries
These are just a few but I hope others will add to this list. My heart goes out to you and I truly do hope you get the help you need. Remember your therapist by law can not share your information with your mother and if they do then get a new one! Be kind to yourself and you can start with changing your name on here. You are worth something and we all think so!!

I am so glad you chose Dr. Shillingford he really is a good person and an excellent surgeon. After my surgery and I came back for my post op check he literally spent an hour plus with me answering every question that I had. At no time did he ever make me feel like I was taking his time. The hospital that does the testing was done so quickly I couldn't believe it. I might have hit it at a good time but literally I was taken from dept to dept and done within and hour and a half at most. The other nice thing is Dr. Shillingford doesn't keep you on puree and liquid forever after the surgery. He gets you back on food pretty quick and everyone I know that had him for their surgeon did not have any trouble doing this. There is a restaurant there called BJ's on the Beach and you absolutely have to go there before surgery!! It has a beautiful view right on the beach and the food is really really good! If I can help you with anything please don't hesitate to ask. Nancy is amazing and will answer your questions and help you with absolutely everything! Good luck to you!!

I was shopping at a local boutique this morning and decided to try a few dresses for some upcoming parties & showers.
I pointed to one "that's cute."
The woman grabbed me a small.
"Um, size what?? For who?? Me??"
"I'll get you a medium, but you are definitely a small."
....Yeah lady, you're on crack ..... And I fit and bought the size small dress. Holy s#*t!

Good news is the C. diff test came back negative! I definitely have a GI infection based on all the white blood cells in the culture, but it is responding to the flagyl and Probiotics. Pulled my IV catheter yesterday after getting 5 liters. Managed to gain 3 pounds in Water weight and it's the best 3 pounds I've ever gained I worked 1/2 day today and was actually hungry this afternoon...and I'm never hungry.

Thanks. I will discuss with my doc. In any case, Things have already improved in just 3 doses of flagyl. Still have diarrhea but much less volume and frequency. Started a higher powered multi strain probiotic as well. Still no word from the lab despite being assured they would have results today.

The funny thing is you have to constantly check yourself before you wreck yourself. Last night I wanted to just eat for the sake of boredom and realized it. Frowned and moved on. Still wanted to eat but I didn't. In the beginning there were tears, anger, etc. but now i literally say something like dang I want something and can't have it. That always helps me to shrug off the I wants and can't have it aggravation.

If I am freezing to death in North Florida I can only imagine what some of you are experiencing. Told my husband I would never complain of the heat again, and he snorted! I think WLS and losing some fat has changed me for sure. Love the posts!

Central Florida chimming in on the East Coast and believe me we do get cold! Not like the sub zero people but we just don't tolerate cold well at all. I have been wearing jeans, long sleeves, turning the heat on, turning on fireplace and wearing hoodies outside. Thank goodness for a nice cup of hot coffee with some Premier Protein shake in it!! Stay warm you northerners!!

So I hit my first goal of being under 200 lbs. yesterday. This is the least I've weighed in a very long time. Now just 60lbs to go! I had my surgery Oct. 21st and am so happy with how much better I feel already. This past week I was able to add some jogging into my walk without my joints killings afterward. My goal is to run my first 5K by the end of the year and at this rate I think I might just achieve that goal. I can honest admit that I am dying for a glass of wine or an Oreo, but the little sacrifices are so worth it.

I agree with Reverie - there's nothing to be ashamed of. While our journeys to 200, 225, 250, 275, 300 and more were all different, it's our action to our individual numbers that draws us together.
Like your husband, mine said nothing about my weight ever. I would have been angry had he said something - I knew I was fat, I didn't need him reminding me of that fact. I always kept my weight a secret from him - when I told him I got to 256 pounds right before surgery, he was shocked. Really shocked - that's how much he weighs. I told him, "Honey, you and I have weighed the same for 8 years now. I can tell you the exact day that I caught up to you. We went to the doctor's office together and the nurse commented to me that I weighed the same as you." It was not my proudest moment.
My biggest denial wasn't about the number of my weight....It was the size. I was jamming myself into size 20 jeans. I refused to by a larger size. In reality, I was probably was a snug 22 or even a 24. Gasp!!!!! I used to have to lay down on the bed in order to get my jeans zipped. I had to lose about 20 pounds before those jeans fit comfortably.
So you were 290 vs. 270 when you started - on my driver's license, I'm a svelte 200...a number I haven't seen in about 14 years! You're here now and you're amongst friends.
    Best wishes to you!

At first I would say 380 in a very hushed tone..Took me weeks to tell my hubby how much i weighed.............Now to hell with it..That is not me any longer that was the old scared me.........
I am down 182 lbs...that is magnificent if I do say so myself~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of my weight loss and on here I share it because I know there are others who understand that it is a big deal and big achievement. If I can't be honest with people who are struggling with the same issues.. Then I will never be able to be honest with myself...And hun...........you did that just now........................Super duper you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, there's no shame in admitting how big you were, honey.
    We've all been there.
Just think, in a perverse way, when you reach goal, it'll have such a bigger significance and magnitude of achievement.
Hell, you're down 44lb as it is. That's bleedin' awesome!!!
Chin up, chicken. You're doing brilliantly
