I have been married to my husband for 32 years and started dating him when I was 14 years old. Now this man has known me for more of my life than not. He has seen every up and down the scale I have ever done. He has always loved me for who I am irregardless of my size. Size has never stopped him from wanting sex and he has always loved me no matter how big I was. With that said after I started losing weight he stepped up his touchy huggy ways! I took this in a positive way from him. His attention was that of a man that was appreciating the new me and happy for the healthy person that I had become. I don't know your relationship and would never advice you on how to handle your man but based onall the threads I have read on this topic and my own experience I would say he is reacting pretty much the same way most of our men have done. You might have other issues to deal with we don't know but this reaction of his isn't uncommon so hang in there!! Mine actually drove me nuts and I say that with exasperation and a smile because I know I do look better and he was affirming it. Good luck to you and your husband!!

Got to scratch off something on my bucket list. I am training in Sarasota for a new job and have always wanted to run on a beach. This was my view during my mile run!

You can do it!! This is what I called the practice run for after the surgery. It strengthens you and gives you a good picture of your post op recovery time. You absolutely do get stronger in your resolve but it is tough in the beginning. Once that weight starts dropping you get stronger and stronger and the anguish drops off. It does creep up every once in awhile but your inner resolve will stop it down. Best of wishes to you!!

I said absolutely nothing. When people started noticing a difference (40 pounds lighter) and I felt comfortable I let them know what I did without having to feel embarrassed or trying to keep up with any untruths that I might of said early on. Just don't say anything and when you are comfortable with it you can let them know more. You don't owe anyone an explanation about your choices. Once you have lost some weight your confidence grows and you will be able to talk about it. It is done and your are proving what you did was the best thing for yourself.

Wow. If you had asked my advice, which you didn't, I'd tell you that it's going to be close to impossible to hide your change in eating and drinking habits from the people in your home. I'd also tell you that I imagine your husband would feel betrayed/angry/lied to when he finds out what you've done. I am not one that told the world - just my husband, kids and besties - but I can't imagine hiding something of this magnitude from my husband. I pray that you have no complications, but what if you do have a leak or a stricture? What if you develop a lactose intolerance or start dumping? How scary that would be for him if he had no idea what you did!
If you asked, which you didn't, I would advise you to trust your husband or ask yourself why you don't. This is a HUGE move towards your good health and one he should know about.

I was sleeved June 7th and have lost 85 pounds so far. I started out as a 22/24 and 2x tops. I'm now a size 14 and can wear a large top. I am very happy with my sleeve and have seriously had no problems at all. I would say the head hunger was the worst thing to get past! I too wish I had done this earlier in my life but all things in God's timing. I have noticed a little bit of a slow down now with the weight loss and have added more exercise to my routine. I have 49 pounds to lose to reach goal and I am determined to do it! I want to lose another 10 pounds after that for safety measures. I absolutely love shopping off the regular racks especially with my daughters! I am determined to make sure that the rest of my life will be at a healthy weight and I am always looking for new foods to change things up. I have resolved myself to a low carb life because I have realized that I am a carbaholic and it doesn't take much for me to start craving the darn things. Why torture myself! Life is good and I hope you all find yourselves in the same place!!

You should try Premier Protein shakes. You get 30g of Protein 160 calories and almost no sugar or fat. They also taste really good. I almost 8 months post op and can still drink them. They are awesome in coffee!! You can get them at Sam's, costco, BJ's and recently I saw them in 4 packs at Walmart. My surgeon was very happy with my choice. Best of luck to you!!

What you are going through is totally normal! The fact that you can't smoke only makes is worse but hang in there it does get easier..........I promise!! Treat yourself to some Panera Broccoli and cheese Soup. It was my saving grace! You can't eat the broccoli yet but the rest of it is absolutely amazing!!

The one thing I wish I had done was do this years ago! If you are fully aware of the lifetime commitment you are about to do and really thought this out then I am happy for you. I strongly caution you that if you do not make the life changes necessary to maintain your weight loss then it will be for nothing. Be very very honest with yourself and even more aware of your old actions and thought patterns for why you are reaching for food. This must be fixed if you can do that then congratulations. You are only 18 so your skin should shrink back pretty good. It takes time for the skin to shrink but it does. For some of us not as good as others but it still shrinks some. Best of luck to you!
