I would start with detoxing from the carbs. Go back to a liquid protein diet for at least a week and begin back with the protein and steamed veggies. This is the rest of our lives and slips are going to happen. You recognized what is going on an asked for support. That is the first step to getting back on track! Congrats for that!! As food addicts we have ups and downs in our struggles to maintain our weight and after our sleeve it is absolutely no different except we have our sleeve to help us. I think we know when we are beginning to weaken and our resolve isn't so strong. It's scary because we actually know what we are about to do just like an alcoholic is with a drink. That is why I love this forum we are told exactly what we need to hear and it helps us to get it back together!! Good luck to you and I wish you the best!!

OMG! I'm FREAKING out!
Beach Lover replied to gia24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think you would be normal if you weren't having reservations and fear right now. Most of us have gone through this exact same thing including me. It is a great surgery and you will love your life when it is done. -
Is anyone else cold?
Beach Lover replied to Getting Wispy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am cold most of the time except when I am having these raging hot flashes that seem to have doubled in the number of times they occur since my surgery. So I go from freezing to hot as hades all day long. I am a mess! Hopefully this will stabilize soon! -

At What Weight Limit Did You Say "you Have Had Enough"?
Beach Lover replied to Gonnabeslim1day's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When my mother passed away and I gained another 10 pounds and ended up at 290 pounds and new it just wasn't gonna happen any other way. I had tried and tried so many diets and could never get beyond 270 and knew at 52 I was going to need help. Best thing I ever did.........I only wished I knew more about this before. Oh well all in God's time!! -
I know I have messed up :(
Beach Lover replied to KATHYBUSH2013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Perhaps you should start out with a 2 week liquid diet and detox yourself from the carbs! It sucks but it will make you appreciate good food again. You will find yourself wanting some good protein and Veggies again. Get the carb cravings out of you and then do like Laure-ven said first protein then veggies when you eat. Best of luck to you!! -
I don't doubt it at all! Not only did she eat the food she missed she could eat A LOT of it!! Glad I did my research and had the sleeve done. Sleeve = priceless!!

Stall Question or Not Working Question
Beach Lover replied to Winsong's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I talked to my doctor about stalls the other day and he said they are inevitable. I asked him how to end a stall and he said to up your exercise. I asked him about eating more and he said no don't change the diet just up the exercise. He also said to continually change things up with the exercise to keep your body guessing. Never keep the same pattern going otherwise your body will catch on to what you are doing and that can start a stall because your body is trying to correct itself. He also said if you are in a stall not to despair because your body can't win over the math. You WILL lose!! Hang in there! -
Little things you never would of done.
Beach Lover replied to No game's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
That is truly an NSV!! I bet your husband was so proud to walk you around not just because you lost weight because they haven't seen you. But because he loves you and wanted to share with everyone one of the most precious things to him! You probably made his week with this one!! Congratulations to this great step in your journey! -
This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen!! Who in there right mind even those desperate to lose weight (and we know what that is like) would do something like this! To spend $2,000 on this is crazy! You know they lost water weight and a few pounds and that's it. The weight and eating behaviors are going to come right back with a few more pounds to boot! They are going to hate themselves for doing this one!! I would never admit to this stupidity!!

If there was a Class Action Lawsuit against the band....
Beach Lover replied to Nursebarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I truly believe it is just a matter of time before that commercial hits the tv. I have said it for awhile now and I don't blame anyone for signing up for it. Good luck to all when it happens! -
Your very welcome!

I was at my surgeons the other day and asked him about the stretching of the stomach and he told me it would take several years of overeating to actually do any stretching. I was very relieved to hear this because I was very paranoid about it.

Surgeon talked more about lap band!
Beach Lover replied to bigbeauty78's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Even if you have to travel to a surgeon I would suggest you do it if this surgeon has not done a lot of sleeves. It just occurred to me why would he suggest a cheaper procedure if he is really good at the sleeve and as a doctor has to know the tragedies that have occurred from the lapband. I just want to throw that out there. Best of luck to you! -
Surgeon talked more about lap band!
Beach Lover replied to bigbeauty78's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would think if you have test results and a file with medical records and you transfer to another doctor you would just send a records request (probably with a fee) to the first doctor and they will send it over. -
Surgeon talked more about lap band!
Beach Lover replied to bigbeauty78's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think you do have a choice and if your doctor says likewise I would definitely get a 2nd opinion. That lapband is bad stuff and one of these days there is going to be a class action suit on the tv every 15 minutes on the hour every freaking hour. Best of luck to you!! -
Slow losers..... Motivational steps
Beach Lover replied to Ballermom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was on 6/7 and with my 2 week liquid diet I have lost 34 pounds. I too am 5'6" and I was at my surgeons yesterday as well. He said my weight loss was well within the normal range and to continue what I am doing. The one good thing with slow weight loss, your skin gets a chance to shrink some as you go. -
Psych Eval Gone Wrong
Beach Lover replied to TheOldMeAgain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Kchristian!! Be a strong advocate for yourself. It sounds like you were already headed down that path any way. Keep it up and check every avenue you can possible use. I have 2 son n laws in the military and I can never ever say thank you enough to all our military men and women!! I truly wish you the best of luck!! Please keep us posted! -
I was just at my surgeons yesterday and asked him about the stretching. His reply went like this "It is not that easy to stretch your stomach out. You have to consistently overeat for several years to actually make this happen." I was surprised at his answer. I knew that most of the stomach that can stretch is removed but I thought it was easier than what it actually takes for it to happen. I am sure there are different opinions out there but I trust my surgeon and have actually heard this from other people as well. So I feel a little more confident in the power of my sleeve. This in no way gives me permission to misbehave but I it does feel good to know I don't have to fret so much about it any more.

It's funny how this works. You think your friends like you for being you yet it seems our body image seems to play a much bigger part in relationships than we all realize. You've made a huge change in your life for the better. New friends can be a great thing!
