I just ordered some of these for the same reason! I haven't tried them yet but they look really good. I have been trying to find some lower sodium beef Jerky as well. The best I could find so far is the 365 Whole Foods brand. I can't wait to get these and give them a try!

Premier is the absolute best and can also be found at Sam's.

June sleevers, what are you eating?
Beach Lover replied to getlownurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on June 7 and eat anything at this point. With that said I haven't eaten any bread, pasta or rice. I try to stay away from the bad carbs. It doesn't take much to fill me up on occasion I hit a lucky day and can eat a little more. I don't have any trouble getting my liquids in IF I remember to do it!!! My hair is doing okay but I think a little more is coming out.....I hope it doesn't escalate to much and ends quickly! The belching is ridiculous! I am still taking 2 acid reducers a day. Definitely need to colace or miralax to keep things going. I just ordered probiotics to see if makes a difference. I need to come up with some more lunch ideas. I still drink a protein shake twice a day because I just don't get enough protein. I need to start eating little bits of protein through the day to give up one of the shakes. I go to the gym at least 2-3 times a week. I have had absolutely no complications and feel very blessed for that. I hope you all are doing well! -
From Vertical to LapBand
Beach Lover replied to ginajohnson's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They would have to use a rubber band! Why would you even consider this with all the complications that your read on here? If it's just a question the complications you read on here would also answer that one. -
15 months post op (PICS)
Beach Lover replied to O.T.R. sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have done a fantastic job and should be very proud of yourself! -
You said you were getting about 50ish carbs a day. Have you tried eating fewer carbs? For me that is to many. I try to stay to protein with veggies and occassionally some fruit like berries or melons and only a little of that. Hang in there you are still newly sleeved. Did you measure yourself? If you are losing inches then your sleeve is working! Many times when the scale isn't going down the inches are. This is still the process of weight loss and soon your scale will show a difference.Good luck to you!!

New Activities
Beach Lover replied to CharmingTortoise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These are all fantastic ideas and LipstickLady is right you can sit in a restaurant with your friends. There is always something on the menu you can eat and once you are full the idea of eating something else is a turn off. Good luck! -

Teachers Supporting Sleeved Teachers
Beach Lover replied to ambervsg2013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This was a post from one of my past teacher aids that worked in my office with me. "The good dishes that stay in the cabinet, the crystal vase that has never held flowers, the party dress that hasn't been to a party... what are you waiting for? Enjoy them! This is the life you've been given. Live it and love it!" I think it is very insightful for such a young person and we need to take her advice! Work that sleeve and begin to really live our lives!! -
Head hunger is a b@#$h and took me a few weeks to get it under control. I promise it does get better! Are you taking an acid reducer? If not, it can make you feel like you are really hungry and your not it is the acid. Hang in there!

Food that get stuck
Beach Lover replied to nyorker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you feel better now? I probably would have drank the water also! -
It's honestly no big deal. You won't even be awake when they put it in and there is no pain when they take it out. No worries!!

I'm alone: I hate this.
Beach Lover replied to C_TimesThree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry that you are going through such a tough time. It's hard enough to adjust to this new way of life without going through the complications that you have had to conquer. Take care of yourself right now and let your family help you. I will put you and your family in my prayers. It will get better even though it doesn't seem like it ever will but it will! I 'm glad you vented your emotions with us that is what we are here for. Keep talking to us and let us help you get through the days! I am sending you a big hug! -
I have a friend that I am ready to walk away from after 9 years of friendship. We always ate lunch together at work. Then we invited a new employee to eat with us. This person has insidiously and passively aggressively done things over several years to take over our friendship and push me out. There have been so many hurt feelings that I have tucked away thinking I was paranoid until another employee pointed out everything I had been thinking. The sad part is my girlfriend is totally blind to her behavior and despite proving some of her behavior to my friend she turns a blind eye to it. After being off for the whole summer and returning 41 pounds lighter neither one of them even acknowledged my weight loss. Only after someone complimented me in front of her did she act surprised that I had lost weight. So I guess I am so frickin invisible now she doesn't even notice anything anymore. Today I am at the gym and she starts talking to me and asking what I did to lose the weight. I told her wls and she was happy for me but only said "You can really see it in your face" and you could tell she didn't want to say another word. This pissed me off and I just looked at her and said Thank you I have lost almost 40 inches and went from a 22/24 to an 18. Waited a few seconds and said okay I got to go and left. If that was bitchy of me OH WELL!!! I just feel like this friendship has gone toxic as is and I need to distance myself from her. Am I nuts or is this a good decision?

It's funny at this point I am totally good with walking away. She won't even know I have checked out. In a weird way I get some satisfaction looking at her and thinking you don't affect me any more. I am finding a stronger more assertive me and I have all the capabilities of finishing this journey and learning who my true friends are. You see the ones who get excited for me and have no reservation about my weight loss are worth time and friendship. I will nurture those friendships and be forever grateful for the happiness they have for me. A true friend should never feel threatened by who or what you have but just enjoy who you are. My sleeve is showing me a whole new circle of friends and I am grateful!

What do you feel works best to notice the piunds coming down.
Beach Lover replied to cindy74's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Stay away from the carbs and do what your doctor tells you to do. Move forward each day even if the scale didn't say what you wanted it to say. Measure yourself and compare the loss of inches when you aren't losing. This helps to keep the mind games at bay! Good luck!! -
Truth is that is how I live my life and as much as I would have liked to sound bitchy to her it wasn't. I have kept the friendship this long because I was taking the high road and and this point it just feels like it is to much work. I will always be nice to her but she has lost a good friend.

passed out for the second time since surgery
Beach Lover replied to varg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has happened to me as well. Something else that drives me crazy......I have had a hard time walking straight!!! It's a good thing I don't drink much! If I had to walk a straight line they would put me in the pokey!! Don't know why this happens it was worse early on but I still have days where I am tripping over myself! -
I am sure you will look awesome with short hair and thank you for the reply!!

Its been two years since I logged on almost 3 years out Before and Afters
Beach Lover replied to JennChap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look fantastic! Inspirational for sure! -
I was eating salad at week 8 for sure. The thing is thou you have to get the protein in while you enjoy the salad. Salad will fill you up real fast so make sure you get plenty of protein in while you enjoy it. Don't eat anything real fibrous like broccoli. Otherwise enjoy it!

This looks amazing and I will give this one a try!!

Premier is the best IMHO I have tried quite a few of them and it beats them all followed by Atkins. I buy them at Sam's you can get them at Costco but they are about $6 more there. You can't get them at Walmart I have tried. Some say they have seen them at Walgreens I have not. Any way Premier has a great chocolate taste that isn't thick at provides 30g of protein, 160 calories and very little fat or sugar.
