Is this when your stomach is empty? Sometimes if I haven't eaten when I should have my stomach honestly feels like it's for a lack of a better description.....hollow. Don't laugh because I know when it is empty it is hollow but it feels that way. LOLThen I know I really need to eat because I start to not feel well.

4 months out and falling off wagon

Even if your advice was meant to be constructive it wasn't. It was hurtful and very direct. Looking at your second post I think that is your way of talking to people. I don't think that is working for you. Take this as constructive as possible. When you post on a forum there should be compassion and understanding for another persons struggle. Your second post was immature and quite judgmental because you were upset people called you out for your behavior. I suggest you reread each of the posts and have a chat with yourself. There will come a day when you are really down and you are going to be in need of someone else to understand your plight and I don't think you are going to want to be told advice in the manner you have dealt it out. I am telling you this not in an arrogant manner but in an honest view of what I am seeing. I hope you take this to heart and realize this is not a bash but an outreach. If you don't want it fine I am good with that but please be more compassionate for other people. Each person is different and deals with there struggles as best as they can. -
I brew tea at home and sweeten it with stevia and fresh lemon. This has been a grate thirst quencher for me and I am enjoying tea again after drinking soda for so many years.

Oh my myyyyyyy dinner was so good!
Beach Lover replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it is normal. All doctors have different post op recovery plans some are more lenient and others very strict. Mine was on the lenient side and he sent me home wanting me to start puree within the week and if that went well to move on the mushy foods etc. He was very adamant that he only wanted me trying one new food at a time. Any way I wan eating tuna and broccoli cheese soup by week 2. Mind you they were very tiny portions like a couple of bites each and I was done but it was good! I never had any troubles with any of my foods. But you should keepwith your doctors orders. I wish you the best of recoveries!! -

Beach Lover posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was dinner tonight. I am at 3 months post op and could only eat a few bites of the salad (none of the apple) and a couple of tiny bites of the cheese broccoli but the lobster was so so good. So if you are on a liquid diet at this point take heart because this is in your future and time flies by! -
Where was the damage? Is he saying the acid reflux can cause the cancer or the sleeve?
-
Dies anyone feel like they werent sleeved?!?
Beach Lover replied to alittler09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A slider is just that it slides in and slides out pretty quickly. It doesn't stick around to make you feel full. You are having a great recovery and not experiencing any trouble. Don't fret! When you start real food you are going to find out just how much food you really can't eat. -
Another culprit is acid. Are you taking an acid reducer? If not you might want totalk to your doctor about it. I take 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. Acid can make you feel really hungry when you really aren't.

My feelings got hurt Tonight

The only thing that came to mind when I read this was Le ******!! You deserve better and he will definitely come along!! It's good to see that you have some confidence and can handle this jerk! When you are at goal you better strut yourself right in front of him. You don't have to be rude but strut it, make him want it and then say "Sorry do I know you?" Sorry.......sometimes my bad side comes out! -

I have always enjoyed my vegetables but I think our bodies tell us when we need something and it comes in the form of cravings. Our mind tells us when we want something also but it usually isn't good for us. That is a "I want it." but I just feel a sense or need for vegetables and am enjoying the limited amount that I can have. You might not ever want broccoli but I think you will find yourself wanting vegetables more than you did before the sleeve. Good luck with your surgery by the way! -
Do i smell or something?

I am sorry you are going through that. Do you have family that you can go out with for a nice meal? Sometimes people are just weird about the surgery and that's on them not you. I found out who my real friends were with my surgery and learned to cut a few loose. I think all of us go through this at some level. Give them a little time that might be all you need. Time will tell but I hope they come around. In the mean time are you going to a support group you might meet some new friends there who totally understand your new life. -

Please don't be afraid to post. Even if you get some negative feedback and hopefully you won't there are plenty of us that will lift you up and give the advice from some 20/20 hindsight. I consider this site my therapy. Sometimes in answering someone else's post you are helping yourself as well. It's the cheapest therapy I have ever had and it works really works!! -

Well I am glad you enjoyed your shrimp but no water! Keep changing up your menu so you don't get bored with your food and will do great! -
That would taste good! Mine had rice paper on it (only 8 carbs) but this would totally eliminate carbs. Besides it sounds really good and I love srirachi sauce....I love spicy food!

I was eating shrimp at that point. The problem is you are still learning when you are actually full and when to stop. I am 3 months out and honestly am just getting the hang of it. I went to dinner with my husband tonight and ordered a fish sandwich dinner and had the waiter make it grilled fish no bun, lose the fries and gave me sauteed greenbeans instead and I ordered a side salad with it. I only ate a 1/4 of the salad, 1/2 the greenbeans and 1/2 of the fish. Tomorrow I will finish the fish and greenbeans. It takes a little practice to know when you are full, I was overeating even though I was trying not to. I found that when I start getting a slight feeling of getting full I stop because in another minute I will feel totally full. You have to become more alert to your stomach and taming your mind that you have to stop even though it tastes really good and you think you can get a couple more bites in. Those are the killers....those 2 extra bites. -
I am not sure how much you have to lose but given your age you should do fairly well. Slow loss allows the skin to tighten up a little better IMHO. I was worried because I am almost 53 but even my skin has responded. I am sure I will still need some help once I reach goal but I am impressed with what my skin has done.

Beach Lover replied to mamamareli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not the sleeve that is the problem. It is the mental work that it takes to work your sleeve. It is the same story you struggled with prior to your sleeve. The reason you gained weight and the head games, bad eating habits, and using food to meet your emotional needs that are very hard to reprogram in your life. That is what she is struggling with and turning to old habits and then beating the hell out of yourself for doing it. Fortunately she is reaching out to tame these problems. One day I promise you will experience this struggle and better understand it. When that happens you need to post us also so we can uplift you and help you through it. -
You go girl!! Yum Yum
