can you build muscle on a post-op diet?
Beach Lover replied to bussy37's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Before surgery I was in pretty good shape as far as muscle tone is concerned. Today 3 1/2 months post op they are shot! I go to the gym and get all my protein but I think it will take some time to get it back. Many on here will tell you that it can be done but it takes some work. Good luck to you! -
Hospitals that will not perform surgery with certain mental health diagnoses
Beach Lover replied to MAchick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you think the diagnosis is incorrect from when you were younger I would suggest you go to another psychiatrist and be reevaluated. If the results show and incorrect diagnosis then you can have your medical records changed. Get a letter from the new psychiatrist to clear you. You never know it might work! If not, then you might think about going to another doctor for your surgery. Good luck!! -

I'm Afraid of Bread...
Beach Lover replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It scares me to try it also. I am afraid there will be a lot of discomfort. I don't need it and there is enough 20/20 hindsight on here for me to follow. I have tried a few bits of things that are carb loaded and they honestly do make me want more. It is a true addiction for me so I have to stay away. Bummer for me but maybe later on down the road after I have gotten past some of these triggers I can handle it. -

Bouncing on a trampoline 5 weeks out?
Beach Lover replied to Justinh125's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should wait a little bit more. I have to admit though it sounds really really fun!!! I have been thinking about looking for one of those places that you can exercise on trampolines. I think you can get a great workout doing it and laugh at the same time. -

You are doing fine. Remember as each day goes by the swelling in your stomach goes down more and you are able to eat more. Sounds like you are healing nicely. Just stay on the diet your doctor told you and you will be fine! -

stall correlated to lack of protein
Beach Lover replied to angry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need your protein and mariamitani is right most of your food should be coming from protein. You are basically starving yourself and your body in reacting. In addition lack of protein will also result in more hair loss. Hang in there and get back to your protein drinks and branch out with the types of foods you are eating. You didn't mention exercise if you aren't getting any than start with some biking, or walking maybe a gym membership if you don't have one. I hope the scale starts going down for you soon! -

You look absolutely beautiful!! The difference is very evident and you should be very proud of the new you!! Keep it up your really do look great! -
If you find yourself dizzy, fuzzy headed, dry eyes, dry mouth or dark urine those are also symptoms of dehydration. You can drink Smart Water or G2 both of these have electrolytes in them. Combined with the banana that might do the trick. I have had those night cramps and they are awful. I can't tell you how many times I flew out of my bed to try and stretch them out. Sometimes they are so bad your leg hurts the next day from it. Good luck!!

Is there anyone who DIDN'T lose their hair?
Beach Lover replied to byebyebelly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Because I was hoping against hope that it wasn't serious. I don't think I was slamming her nor intended to. I believe that I reached out to this person with empathy and truly wanted to help her. I could have waited a minute to word it better but I was actually worried about her. I have had several very close family and friends do this and my reaction was quick. I still want her to reach out to us or to get help. I take this as a serious thing and nothing less. -

Beach Lover replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did this the other day and was so sorry for it! I had such bad gas build up in my stomach that I didn't know was there until I ate! It was a good thing I was at Sam's and could walk some of it off! I don't ever want to deal with that again! -

I sincerely hope this is sarcasm and not reality. If you are serious please talk with someone or us about how you are feeling and get some help. Maybe we can help you with some ideas for weight loss or reduce your anxiety.
