Question for vets and those sleeved longer than 6 months
Beach Lover posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once you have reached 6 months post op did the amount of weight you lost each week go down drastically? I am guessing that I will still have about 60 pounds to lose and I was wandering what to expect. I know each person is different but I would like to know how it went for all of you. I appreciate your reply!! -

That is definitely slower but still encouraging. -

Thank you for answering this. Do you think you still lost a pound or so each month or did it literally come to ounces each month? -
Will be sleeved in less then 24 hours!

Best of wishes and congratulations! Don't forget to ask the floor nurse for the flavored sponges to help hydrate your lips and mouth. A true lifesaver! Congrats! -
Question for vets and those sleeved longer than 6 months
Beach Lover replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you! I am fine if I continue to see loss even if it a little at a time. I to have some serious arm issues and have to be careful if the wind is blowing strong or I might take flight!! I need to get more serious about my exercise and see if I can pick up the weight loss. I am losing about 2 pounds a weeks but would like to make sure I have lost at least 70 pounds at the 6 month mark. -

I still have just under 2 months before my 6 months and would like to have at least 70 pounds lost by then. I would still have about 60 pounds to lose and I have been a slow loser to begin with and I honestly don't sabotage myself. It kind of freaks me out that I could end up never reaching goal. I think I am being paranoid but this whole thing is a head trip sometimes. -
Cue the harp music and trumpets....

Congratulations!! Let the transformation begin! -
You can get them in the vitamin section of just about any store. I take them daily in a tablet form. If there is a better way to absorb them I would be interested in knowing myself.
-
Well that blew that theory! I think I too will eventually lose more I just haven't so far. Crossing my fingers!!
-
I am the same way. I have continued to drink the Protein Shakes just to make sure I am getting all my protein but not over the top either. I have noticed a little more shedding but that is all. I take biotin and use Revita shampoo that stimulates the hair follicle. It doesn't prevent hair loss just helps the follicle to produce hair quicker. I could just be one of those who loses my hair later but it will be interesting to see.

my life is miserable since the sleeve
Beach Lover replied to luckyqueenbee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I honestly think this would be a good idea. You are probably already dehydrated and the fluids will help you to feel better. -
Not to mention the fact that you paid him thousands of dollars to do your surgery. You hired him for this service and he needs to realize that your feelings account for a great deal and you paid for him to take of them as well. I have a feeling that your getting mad is actually a good thing and you will turn it around to be a great advocate for yourself. Hang in there!

I am so sorry you are going through this right now but listen to RJ'S/Beginning she has been through a lot and can help you. Be a strong advocate for yourself and keep that doctor on his toes. He needs to hear your concern and respond appropriately to it. If he doesn't then let him know he is letting you down. Hang in there and please keep us posted with your progress! I hope you heal quickly and again please talk with us to help you get through it.

Question for Ladies over 50!
Beach Lover replied to LDallas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Biotin will keep the hair in great condition but it will not prevent the hair loss.Getting all your protein will help with the amount you lose. I am 4 months out and haven't really lost anything yet but I wanted to be ready. I spoke with my hair stylist and he told me about a product that he has given to people with baldness and said it did bring new growth for them. It is called Revita and is a follicle stimulator which promotes growth. You can order it on Amazon. I have been using it for about a month and last week I went to him and he checked my head and there is new growth all over. Yes, naturally you will have growth but this is all over and looks great. I know some will say that nothing helps but he went to seminars on the product and swears by it. In addition he doesn't push product I had to have him order it for me because he didn't feel like I would lose hair but I knew better! I will most likely lose hair because it doesn't prevent hair loss but stimulates the follicles so it will grow back quicker plus I have new hair coming in already to hopefully offset what I do lose. This is just my opinion and attempt at being proactive. My next purchase of this will be on Amazon....cheaper! -

Have you talked with your doctor? If not your really need to. Protein is absolutely essential along with the liquids. Do you have a medicine for nausea? This can turn around and will but it sounds like you need some help. -
I can't handle the puddle!

I saw these tank top type spanks today called flexees from maidenform. You might be able to wear that because it's like a tank top and would flatten it out. Google them or go on amazon and see if they have them. I am right there with you that is why I know about them! Good luck! -
Just wanted to share =)

Having some issues today.
Beach Lover replied to chass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is completely normal and should stop pretty soon. If it doesn't and you think you are getting dehydrated then I would suggest you call your doctor for the best medication. I would say Imodium but with a new healing you should probably check with your doctor. -
Question for all June sleevers
Beach Lover replied to cmathews77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am eating any protein and veggies that I want. I stay away from carbs. I am eating about 800 calories a day. Yes, I still drink Protein Shakes daily. I have to be at work my 7:00a.m. and it is the easiest thing to do. I have lost 54 pounds and my surgery date was June 7th. Can't wait to lose the next 50 pounds! -
Thanks! We will definitely go see it! I thought it was going to be this good and am glad to here it! I was also told Imax 3d was the way to go. I guess I will need to bring some chocolate chip cookie dough munchies with me.

This is a great idea. Now give me a review on the movie. My husband wants to go see it at the Imax theatre in 3d as well. Was it good?
