What is your "(non)guilty pleasure" food?
Beach Lover replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree full fat product for me. Except one........sugar free caramel macchiato creamer from Coffe Mate. I hated coffee before my sleeve and now I can't stand crystal light or any other fruity drink. I am left with water and tea and my new found morning coffee. I drink a 1/2 decaf with the caramel macchiato and my Premier Protein drink in it also. Very good!! -

I will regret this for the rest of my life
Beach Lover replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think your feelings are totally normal and I wrestled with this very issue for 2 years before I decided to do it. My only regret is that it took this long. I will be 53 next week and have lost 60 pounds so far. I couldn't have done this without my sleeve. I have tried everything possible and only ended up yo yoing and gaining. Sometimes in life we need help for whatever reason. This was my hand up and I will forever be happy with my decision. You will be amazed at how great you are going to feel and believe me this was not the easy way out. Don't get hung up on what others perceive and callously say. They don't even come close to understanding what an obese life is like or the struggles that we have had to try and lose the weight. Your life will return to you once you have healed from the surgery only better!! Hang in there! -
Good luck to all of you!! I wish you all a fantastic uneventful recovery!!

My doctor and many others say it counts as well.

Caffeine addict

Before my surgery I absolutely hated coffee! Post op at 4 months I find myself drinking and enjoying coffee! Talk about a change of taste!! I drink 1 cup 1/2 decaf with my Premiere Protein shake and sugar free caramel machiatto and it is delicious!! Never ever thought I would drink coffee but it has replaced soda, crystal light drinks etc. I just can't stand the fruit flavored stuff anymore. -
You are doing terrific and those small victories lead to bigger and better ones!!! Keep up the great job!

Struggling and need help
Beach Lover replied to Brighteyes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a cup of 1/2 decaf coffee in the morning with some of the Premier shake and sugar free caramel macchiato (spelled wrong I am sure) in it and it is delicious!! -
Lightheadedness and fuzzy headedness are also signs of dehydration. In the early days I kept G2 or Smart Water around to replace the elctrolytes. It is super easy to get dehydrate and your protein counts towards your liquids!

Have I messed up?
Beach Lover replied to pjackson0523's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be fine. My doctor let me have lean meat and fresh veggies every few nights. Good luck with your surgery! -
Hunger - did it come back and when?
Beach Lover replied to Camella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved June 7th so I am a little over 4 months. I have stayed away from all carbs that are bad for you. I do not have a craving for sweet stuff and only feel hungry when I haven't eaten all day. I do take an acid reducer in the a.m. and the p.m. Acid will mimic hunger in a big way so if you aren't taking one I suggest you give it a try. -

Have you tried Premier Protein Shakes yet? They really are very close to tasting like real chocolate milk. You get 30g of protein with each one and I have found them to be the most tolerant to drink. You can buy them at Sam's, Costco, and BJ's. -
Dealing with "not fat" friends
Beach Lover replied to avanti's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
One of the biggest lessons in life is to learn to identify a toxic person they can undermine your happiness, marriage, children and other relationships. You have to either deal with them head on or distance yourself from them. It is a very distructive relationship and will steal your joy. Been there and figured it out! -
Feel real tired after i exercise, im 13 days postop.
Beach Lover replied to HalloweenBaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't over do yourself. There is so much recovery that you still have to do. You can exercise but keep it simple no weights or machines until you are cleared from your doctor. I was 9 weeks before I actually felt like myself again. I was absolutely exhausted with doing just a little bit. Before I was cleared for more strenuous exercise I did the recumbent bike a lot. I was tired but my body wasn't stressed. Congrats on your surgery!
