A few protein reviews
Beach Lover replied to roundisashape's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The vanilla is super sweet and I can't tolerate it but that goes for all vanilla drinks. I still like the Premier chocolate though. I should be sick of them but I still enjoy them. Thank God!! -

Try Premier Protein Shakes you get 30g protein and they are 160 calories and the best one that I have tried and I have tried a lot of them. You can them at Sam's, Costco, and BJ's. Really Good!! -
is this really just head hunger?
Beach Lover replied to birdmadgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some acid reducers work better for some and not others. Many people have to change them up to get a better result. -
I am so happy for you!!

I have avoided the sweets for this very reason so I am dump free so far! I wander if people eat a lot of carbs when they convert to sugar if this can cause dumping also or if it later in digestion that the sugar occurs and nothing happens.

My own surgeon did not recognize me!
Beach Lover replied to Damaris67's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look fabulous!! -
Many doctors have patients back on food within this time frame. Mine had me back on food within 2 weeks and I did just fine. Are you trying 1 food at a time? It could be a sensitivity to something you are eating. Call your doctor and they will help you figure this one out. I am sure it isn't anything major!

Are you taking an acid reducer? Acid will mimic hunger and doesn't go away even after you eat. I take an acid reducer 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. Many of us need this to reduce the acid. Talk to your doctor about it if you are not taking one. It makes a huge difference! -

Talk me off the ledge!
Beach Lover replied to Wags's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found the more bad carbs you eat the more you want. My body just screams for them after I have eaten them so I just avoid. I eat only good carbs now and my body and mind feels liberated from them. It really is easier to just not eat them.......less torture! Good luck! -
Talk me off the ledge!

Hello my name is Kelli (Beach Lover) and I am a carbaholic! It is an addiction just like alcohol and we have to recognize it for what it is. I have learned this about myself and I know that I have to stay away from the darn things. Don't be surprised if you spend the next 24 hours cravings all kinds of stuff!! Ignore the cravings so it will back off. Few carbs only good ones! This is my biggest strategy for losing and maintaining once I get to that point. You did terrific for calling on help you knew you were weak so you took action! Good for you that is a victory in and of itself!! Be proud of that and hide the brownies!! -
Talk me off the ledge!
Beach Lover replied to Wags's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stop with the cheesecake! That brownie is not worth all of your hard work and strong resolve that you have had. The cheesecake can be occasional treat but you can't go further. You are asking for us to tell you to stop and I am doing that for you. In addition you just might find yourself getting sick as a dog consuming all that sugar. Put the treats out of your reach and tell your husband to not let you have any more. Good luck!! -
So sorry about your shoe!! That is a good idea to call Nike! Hopefully they will be able to help you out. Congratulations on your 51 pounds you are doing great!!

So glad you are doing well! I can't wait to see the pictures!! -
I understand why you feel that your thunder is being stolen. If I am looking at this correctly it sounds like she has always been thinner and you finally felt better about yourself and was getting some family and friend attention that was much needed. In walks your sister who drops the weight and takes your good feelings and attention right out from under you. This would be very upsetting for me especially if my mother is commenting all the time. Now, I also want to say this.........Are you doing everything possible to continue your weight loss? Are you paying attention to how much you are actually eating, staying away from carbs when possible, drinking before or after a meal when you shouldn't, getting some exercise in? These are just a few questions you need to ask yourself. I am wondering if you are also beating the crud out of yourself because she is dropping the weight and you don't feel like you have lost as much as you would have liked. If this is the case and you are honestly doing everything possible to work your sleeve then hang in there you will get there. There are plenty of slow losers but they do succeed and so will you. However, if the answers to the questions lean towards slowing your weight loss then it is time to start a new day tomorrow and work the sleeve as it is intended. Only you know the answers and there is no judgement or brow beating going on just a sincere pat on the back and a loud "You can do it!" Big hug!!

Frustrated: Light-headed and constant stalls - what could be wrong?
Beach Lover replied to TvlGrl712's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was lightheaded for quite some time after my surgery and I to got in all my protein etc. You still call your doctor but hopefully it is just you recovering still. -
I agree with the estimating of the food. You might be eating more than you realize. You might take the pounds off quick if you go back to the liquid diet for a couple of weeks but eat a small piece of lean meat and fresh veggies for dinner every other night. It will help you to kick the carb habit and bring you back to a diet that you be more beneficial when you are done with the liquids. Hang in there......you can do it!!
