Reasons to be cheerful!
Beach Lover replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Fantastic!! You know that made you feel great!! Big smile for you! -
Are you taking an acid reducer like Pepcid or Zantac? There are many brands. If you aren't and you have what I would describe as painful hunger chances are you need an acid reducer. Talk to your doctor about it though.

Tired all the time?
Beach Lover replied to kitkatcannon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dizzy, lightheaded, fatigue, dark urine, disoriented all of these can be signs of dehydration. B12 shots sound like a good thing as well. -
Tired all the time?
Beach Lover replied to kitkatcannon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was June 7th and it took me about 9 weeks to get past the exhaustion. Make sure you are getting all of your protein in and liquids as well. It takes a long time to heal from this surgery and find a normal place. You might call your doctor and have your blood work done if haven't done so yet. Your iron level could be low as well as other things. Good luck! -
I am strictly guessing but most of these quotes would be as stated an all inclusive price. My guess is the price would be the same even if you can bring test results with you. You might be able to find a doctor that will ala carte your procedure. If you already paid for the test results then they are yours and you would make a records request. You might pay a service fee for them but you should be able to get them. Good luck on your journey. By the way a lot of people have flown in to have surgery with my surgeon.

Just an observation- Governer Christie
Beach Lover replied to tampa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This picture definitely shows weight loss and he does look better. Still would have chosen the sleeve though! -
Mine was $10,500 and completely all inclusive. It includes all tests and a 2 day hospital stay and 1 year of care. It was in Boca Raton with Dr. Shillingford.

I was thinking the same thing. He did look like he had lost a little but not as much as he should have. Just my observation and opinion. I think I would have made a different choice.........oh yeah I did! -

Beach Lover replied to stefs_dope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried Premiere Protein drinks? They are very very good and you get 30g of protein with each one. You can buy them at Sam's, Costco, and BJ's. give them a try! -

My hips hurt and sometimes still do. You really have to get more protein in than your doing. Even if you don't want to eat you have to. The amount of protein you get can also effect the amount of hair you can lose according to some. Even if it is another protein drink you have to get it in. There are many days that I don't want to eat and I am just over 4 months post op so I make sure I get another protein drink inso that I get at least 70g in for the day. Hang in there you are doing great with the weight loss! -
Happy Birthday to me!

You are to funny! Thank you!! -
So today I am officially 53 years old. I would have never thought last year that today I would be 63 pounds lighter. I thought I was doomed to being an overweight out of shape person for the rest of my life. I am so grateful for having done this surgery and look forward to losing the rest of my weight. For so many years I missed out on the joys of life beating myself up and not participating in the fun things. Not anymore!! I am going to finish the rest of my weight loss to reach goal and live life to the fullest! I am enjoying shopping in stores that I have wanted to shop in for so long. The inner thin person wanted to look different than what the plus size clothes would allow and now I can do that! Oh one more thing on the day my mother gave birth I also gave birth to my son. So it is his birthday as well......family celebration tonight!

When people ask "How did you lose weight?"
Beach Lover replied to MySleeveJourney's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't tell a sole at first. When it became apparent that I was losing weight and people told me I look good I responded with "thank You". When someone asked me how I did it I told them the truth. It has all been good responses so far. I really don't care what they think anymore but that comes with time for a lot of us. If you want to wait until you are through the recovery and losing then wait. You will know when you are ready. -

Ok. In the first week wtf did i do to myself pity party...
Beach Lover replied to Bombs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was definitely the same way!! It started right after surgery with thinking I just made the biggest mistake of my life! That went away quickly but the crying went on for about a week on and off. This is totally normal and a lot of us go through it. It is a huge life change that you need to adjust to and crying, picking fights, being irritable etc. are all part of it. You just ended the one thing in life that you used to lean on.......food! Head hunger kicks in and it feels like you might just go insane. Hang in there I promise it does get better! It took me a couple of weeks to settle in but it does happen and all of sudden you are getting thinner and begin to think you can handle this. -

Happy Birthday to me!
Beach Lover replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely did mean that. I bought myself some happy birthday to me clothes at JCrew, White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor, and a few more. I was literally out of clothes! I was a 22/24 and bought size 16's. I am hoping these will take me through the winter. I tried the resale stores and couldn't find anything so thankfully we have some terrific outlet stores by me. Thank Goodness!!! -
If you don't want to drink G2 because of the calories and carbs then drink Smart Water it has electrolytes in it.

Does anyone watch Man vs Food?
Beach Lover replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used to watch it and enjoyed it. Today and I can't watch it because it nauseates me just to watch him eat that much food. Then I think about his arteries! I did actually see him go outside a restaurant and throw up one time. I have to say my favorite thing on that show was the ginormous donut they always showed!! -
