Do anyone snack sometimes
skittlejessi replied to liltoy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I eat my cereal with milk doesn't bother me but the serving size 3/4 cup with 1/2 cup of milk is more than plenty at this stage(i don't always finish it), I will also put it in my yogurt but goes soft quickly. -

My NUT says 6 200 calorie meal/snack with at least 10 grams protein each I do Protein shake with coffee 2, babybell cheese, lean cusine, greek yogurt, small portion of dinner and then special K protein cereal at night. I will also change up and do some of the products from my doctors office at times or indulge at night instead of my cereal -

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
skittlejessi replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Down 80 pounds since my 2 week pre op diet SD may 23rd, I have alot of hair so when it started falling out I wasn't worried, however I was tired of cleaning it up so I chopped it all off. From mid back to pixie cut. I really like the new do and really feel and look like a new person. It is still falling out but not as much hopefully with the frequent cutting it will slow down. -
Calling all NURSES...
skittlejessi replied to Italiancurves's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not on any antibiotics after surgery so I don't see that being a problem. As for the peel, I don't think I would risk it before surgery, thats a lot of shock to the system. But if you have a few days left before going home I would go for it. I am family practice, OB nurse so skin is not my forta but I did break out into a horrible rash about 2 weeks after my surgery that was miserable and painful. Not sure what it was from but the doc I work with thought it was from the tubing from surgery the way it went across my neck. Good luck -

What is the deal with chicken? & best tasting protein bars?
skittlejessi replied to txbucki's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found chicken easy at 6 weeks out. On the fly I do a grilled chicken wrap I eat the chicken and a little of the wrap. Over the weekend grabbed a kids chicken soft taco meal and was able to eat the whole taco after about 1/2 hour. I am 10 weeks out. Protein bars I like Luna protien and choc covered soy beans. -
Vacation 7 weeks past surgery, can you help?
skittlejessi replied to anialw's topic in Food and Nutrition
I am 7 weeks out and am on a regular diet. I took a vacation at 4 weeks out, I drank ALOT of milk, but I was able to eat eggs at breakfast or yogurt. Soup at resturants and I did try some shrimp and took lots of my own high protein food from my doctors office. My mother in law was concerned that I was going to get sick but I didn't have any problems. However bring your gas x just in case. -
Tending to children post-op
skittlejessi replied to laffypatty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fyi for the moms out there, post op was like 1st trimester. It literally reminded me of morning sickness, some nausea, tired and a little dizzy at times. But unlike the 1st trimester it didn't last for 6+ weeks, for me it was 4-5 days. So if you have more than one child you know how hard it is to be pregnant and take care of your kids. Same senario, Hopefully! -
Tending to children post-op
skittlejessi replied to laffypatty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a 2 and 4 year old, My husband was home with me one day before he went back to work. I never had a wt restriction I was told I could lift my kids (they are 30 and 40 pounds) and drive when I could look over my shoulder. I had about 4 days that I was just tired and napped with them. Other than that didn't need pain meds or anything else. Life was back to normal other than I had to keep showing them my bo bo's so that they could kiss them better. I would say you would need help for maybe one week but to not pick them up for a month seems a little overboard. I have been lifting wts and excersicing since 2 weeks post op and picking up kids all along. Good luck -
I have the same feeling, not a feeling of being full but a feeling like something is in my throat and chest. I have only vomited once (this was due to my Multi vitamin) besides right after surgery. I thought that taking my prilosec or nexium would help but it doesn't. But same thing once I am done eating it is gone. However when I know I need to eat something I get the same feeling. So basically I eat very little and try and eat several times a day. Good luck your not alone.

How much time did you take off work?
skittlejessi replied to Dawnyellow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was off 10 days but could have gone back after one week. I am on my feet all day (Nurse) and talking. Only issue was dry mouth and not getting in enough liquids in between patients. -
Grieving My Old Stomach
skittlejessi replied to Lilechka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never regretted this decision, I did 2nd guess myself before the surgery. But I came to a relization that you don't get to 340 pounds just because I had 2 babies. I have had what I think is a very easy recovery. The best part of this has been my lack of want for food. I eat because I have to not because I can or I feel like I am starving all the time. On my 2 week pre op diet I watched alot of supersize vs super skinny on youtube. This show really helped my deal with the amount of food that I was eating. I highly recommend it to anyone. -
30 day diet question
skittlejessi replied to caligirl21's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I bought food from my clinic which has alot of choices. So protein drinks and soups, mostly they wanted me to get in 2fluids for every protein drink. I didn't get alot in but at 2 weeks I could go to soft foods but I could also start eating protein chips from our clinic which are really good and crackers and such with tuna. That stage is 2-6 weeks. I am one month in and have added some other thinks to my diet. Tonight I had turkey meatballs and they went down well. Egg salad is another favorite. I read another person on here does a glass of skim milk in the am and pm and that has really helped me. Easiest thing for me to get down is a glass of milk and I started that around week 1. Good luck -
High amount of protein with low amount of calories. The higher your protein and the lower your calories, the more wt you will loose. Also if you work out protein helps build musle which helps burn fat. So even though they are not the most tasty thing. They do help. Also I put coffee in mine to take away the sweetness. Its like putting alot of creamer in your coffee just healthier.
