  1. This really isn't a recipe but it was good, thought I would share specially for those on full liquids. Campbell's as a Thai tomato coconut bisque but it's a little fattening but I love Thai flavors and really wanted to try it so I bought a regular tomato Soup and cut down the Thai one by mixing about 50/50 with reg tomato and it was really delicious filled with plenty of the good Thai flavor and cut down the cals and fat. Also Target carries an organic roasted red pepper tomato soup that only has 110 cals and 2 grams of fat and is also crazy good!
  2. I now eat differently and find that many of the meals I make for myself don't work as well for family meals so I find myself making my food and their food (or my husband makes his own food). We all eat healthy but it's things like spagetti squash or PB2 chicken with Shirataki noodles that are a no-go! my husband has lost 10 pounds just by eating some of my meals which puts him at his ideal body weight. My 5 year old eats limited foods and is underweight so it's common we fix her own dinner (usually high Protein noodles with butter and Parmesan or grilled chicken and black beans). There's days all three of us eat different food! Just wondering how everyone else is handling their new lifestyle and incorporating it into a family friendly lifestyle.

    Caffeine detox

I got a migraine so bad that I started throwing up violently. But was better after a few days. Although at 6 weeks post op, I added regular coffee back into my diet. 1-2 cups a day

    3 years post op

Wow! You look incredible (and not anywhere near 46!). Did you need any plastic surgery? I started at a size 16/18 and am wondering if I will need any work done (although a boob job is probably going to be necessary). It's so inspiring to see success post maintenance! Thanks for sharing and love the pics!
  5. I have had more breakouts as well. And 3 days after surgery, I had a severe skin reaction which required steroid cream- it was so horrible but cleared up. I think it was an allergic reaction.

    Healthy Reuben

Have you tried boarshead pastrami or pastrami turkey- both are surprisingly lean!
  7. Yum! Love Indian food and have been to India a few times for work. Any recipes for vindaloo!?!

    Fish Recipes?

I live in FL and my husband is an avid fisherman so we eat fish almost every week (he caught 2 lobsters today and 4 snappers) I personally love blackened fish using chef Paul brand seasoning. We also make a type of creole fish where I sautée peppers, onions and garlic, add a can of tomato sauce (not spagetti sauce) and sazon saffron seasoning, bay leaf, white wine and chili pepper flakes let the sauce simmer a bit then add the fish cut into cubes.mit cooks quick-10 minutes or so. We also make ceviche but I only recommend that with really fresh fish For a firmer thick fish like swordfish, the absolute best hands down, is a marinade made of fresh minced garlic, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, lemon juice and zest, and vegetable oil. I can find the proportions (have it written somewhere). Marinate the fish for several hours then cook on the grill
  9. I am so lucky that anything and everything goes down and feels fine. I have tried it all, even rice and Pasta but I also didn't get that much restriction (which I have mixed feelings about- happy I can still enjoy food and unhappy I can still enjoy food!) Have you tried other types of beans- black Beans or black bean Soup is a fav of mine. How does tuna fish salad work for you?

    hot dog

There's no reason I can think why you can't have one. Get the boars head reduced fat brand and instead of the bun, use josephs low carb pita. I am not a fan of hotdogs personally and honestly don't remember the last time I ate one. My husband likes them and the board head have only 6 grams of fat

30 day, 100% RAW FOOD challenge

How you doing on the raw?
  12. I was told no travel for 6 weeks but that's primarily due to the risk of blood clots from sitting too long. If you can get an isle seat and get up to walk/ stretch, you should be fine. My trips are 9-26 hours so that is why I was on restricted travel.
  13. While I have only lost 26 pounds (from 213 to 187 at 5'6"), I think it was ALL from my upper body! Face to waist thinning but seems my hips, thighs and butt are planning to be fashionably late to the weight loss party! I am a pear so lower body is the first place I gain and last to loose... Any tips to target this region?
  14. So I know stalls get discussed at nausium but here's another topic about stalls! I am 6 weeks out and experiencing a frustrating long stall with 2 weeks fo no weight loss even though I am doing my elliptical for 40 minutes 3-4 times a week and eating 1000-1200 calories a day. I know stalls are normal but thought I would have powered through this one by now. I started at 213 and am stuck at 193, far off from goal of 145. Just curious to hear what have others experienced in the duration of their stalls and how far out from surgery date? If its relevant, comment on how close you were to goal since weight loss gets slower the closer you get.
  15. I had plication and I can eat even more than that at 10 weeks out. A whole lean cuisine is no problem for me either. It's distressing but I eat less than I used to and am using this as motivation to make good choices. It might ean slower weight loss but that's ok. Just kep up the good work!
  16. I figure most people here have a similar story of having weight issues their whole life but I was wondering if you were ever thin (at or very near an ideal weight) and if so, for how long? Did anyone get heavy as an adult but were thin teens? Weight has been an issue my whole life growing up in Miami. I lost 50 pounds between jr high and high school in the summer (every day spent running followed directly by swimming the going to the gym in the evening and eating around 800 calories and starving). I got down to 125 and stayed between 125-150 through college but always a struggle. Then when I started working in public accounting at a Big 4 firm, working 100 hours a week, my weight sky rocketed to 180 and then would bounce between 165-185. Fast forward to early thirties, broke the 200 mark, then lost 35, then got pregnant. After my daughter, I got. Ack down to 165 but lost my mom to a car accident, which rocked me pretty bad. Couple that with a change at my job which increased my international travel from 1 trip a year to 6-8 a year (15 days at a time) followed by losing my dad 2 years after my mom to cancer and I tipped the scales at 213 right before surgery. I would say I was never naturally thin and struggled my whole life with weight. I had and still have friends who eat whatever they want and are so thin (my best friend who is 5'6" topped out at 140 9 months pregnant and has never drank a diet coke, eats fast food for Breakfast, etc) What about you- we're you ever thin? Did you battle weight your whole life?
  17. Crazy how so many men can eat whatever they want (I know not all of them) and if they do gain a few pounds, they drop it so easy!
  18. So, I know Protein bars if eaten as a Meal Replacement, are probably great but given their calorie content is comparable to a candy bar and some taste like candy bars (oh yeah brand), I could see where these are just added calories in the day. I just bought a bunch of types to try for traveling (which I still hope they will serve their purpose and eliminate meals out) but I find I want them as a dessert and tat is not their intended use. What are your thoughts- are Protein Bars friend or foe?
  19. When I travel for work, I was like a locust eating and drinking my way across the country I was in! I loved to eat the different food and drink local wines, which led to the rise in my weight over the last 2 years. I haven't traveled post surgery abroad until now. Leave tomorrow for Madrid and am excited but a little nervous. I won't be working out while over there most likely (work long hours and go to dinner with colleagues right after and usually arrive in the hotel at 11pm) and eating out daily. I am dreading the break in my routine. I am planning to bring Protein bars and Cereal to replace Breakfast and maybe lunch but this will be my first really big hurdle!

    Long trip snacks

Grapes are high in sugar so don't know if they are a great option. There's a low carb pita with only 50 calories if you are allowed to have that, make a turkey and cheese pita with mustard and light mayo. If you can't, just make deli eat and cheese Roll ups and pack in a small cooler, along with a RTD protein drink, bottled water and some almonds. All easy to eat and drive.

    Eyebrows

Haven't heard of body air thinning! Would be nice if my leg hair woud disappear!
  23. Lol- same exact Medea bottle
  24. I am always in a hurry in the morning and don't make time for breakfast before I leave. I decided I want to eat some kashi cereal which fills me longer but I always forget milk and don't want a whole half gallon for the office as I am in and out of my office (work in 2 locations, sometimes from home and travel for weeks at a time outside of the country). While hunting for a small container to bring a days worth of milk in, I found my old breast pump milk containers with lids for breast milk! Holds 6 ounces and it's perfect but it may completely freak out my coworkers to see breast milk containers filled with almond milk in the fridge! The upside is, no one will steal my milk
  25. I just packed kashi go lean cereal and quest bars too! Want to replace 2 meals so only 1 meal out. Tat should help. Part of it is the physchological challenge of being in a new country and on an expense account - it was biggest pre surgery downfall. I did eat healthier even pre surgery when I was home but each 15 day trip, I would eat each meal like it was my last- appetizers, entree, wine, dessert! It's like a crack addict in cracktown.
