As long as you are comfortable, who cares what others think. If you feel a bit self conscience, try a Tankini which covers a little more but you can still get a good tan and when tanning, pull it higher but when swimming, wear it longer.

Awesome! Your tracker shows 175 still with goal of 130. You are close. You can do it! Was your current calorie intake? -
What's the Hardest Part?
Reigo replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Cheri - that's very informative and insightful! I have never explored the idea of why I indulged in food so much and never made good choices (more so when I travel but I travel for work so it's a frequent thing). Since I am only 25 days out, I can say my waking up from anesthesia was horrific. I was tied down at ankles and wrists, had a breathing tube in and some type of clamp in my mouth that didn't allow me bite threw the breathing tube HOWEVER, that clamp thing was down my throat and I immediately begin to heave hard and uncontrollably and then started throwing up while laying down (just liquid and foam). While all this is happening, the post op recovery person is screaming at me "calm down and stop doing that or you are going to DIE! All the while, as I am pushing the clamp out with my tongue and heaving violently, he's trying to tape the clamp to my face! I can't speak can't move and was terrified! The respitory therapist came over and took out the clamp but I had aspirated liquid into my breathing tube and was choking still but he suctioned it out and then I was settled down. Breathing tube stayed in 20 minutes and came out. The gas is surprisingly terrible and painful and from all the heaving, my stomach was so sore but they refused to give me pain medication for over two hours until I got a hospital room. Pain meds helped though but the first three days were pretty rough. I don't want to scare you but I did have an unpleasant experience. But now, all the pain is gone and I am feeling so much better and looking forward to mt transformation. -
Sounds good. I will have to try a version of this!

I also ate fresh fish sautéed in the pan ad salmon in a restaurant

Yeah I didn't purée mine but if you like onions or something chunky, then purée tat. The tuna I mashed with the fork well. Also, remember to eat slow and chew well

Four days post-op, need some resassurance :(
Reigo replied to Thesaurophile's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Basically the exact same but I am starting week 4. I went swimming today and did laps. I tolerate everything well and feel normal. Week 3 was the real turning point for me -
I personally am not a fan of puréed meat so I made tuna salad with light mayo, puréed onion and sweet pickles, and a splash of hot sauce bu however you like tuna salad should work fine. Just blend the ingredients so they are broken up. If you like retried Beans, then warm them with shredded cheese and taco sauce or hot sauce. There's a ricotta ame recipe on here too. And egg beater omelettes are good with puréed veggies which I lie to then sautée so they aren't watery and some shredded cheese.

I want to reach my personal goal! Help!

What's your current weight and what's your goal weight? Not sure if your ticker is up to date. I agree to increase protein and watch the carbs. If you can do 2 shakes as meal replacements, that should boost you. Are you tracking everything you eat in a food journal? Even include samples when in Costco. I am always surprised about my grazing habits. -
Gas hurts for a while. If it were serious, the pain would be intense

Calorie count for post-surgery
Reigo replied to Texas Belle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out and am in the 800-1000 range. I definitely have a larger capacity than I thought I would and it makes me very nervous! I can actually drink a 12 oz protein shake in one shot and now with food, I can eat a small wheat pita round (50 calories made with flax seed) stuffed with 5oz of tuna a slice of tomato and 6 spinach leaves. That's only 200 calories but the portion seems big compared to what others tolerate...although significantly less than what I used to eat! -
That's why they also call it mahi-mahi too, not to confuse people
-
Just blend it a bit to break up the tuna but the mayo softens it. Also omelettes with light cheddar and puréed veggies (sautéed veggies first then add eggs)
-
Can you have scrambled egg whites with light cheddar? That's good alternative. Can also purée veggies and sautéed them a bit then add the egg to the veggies for a nice omelette I like hummus and would eat a tablespoon of that or bababganush (eggplant roasted and blended)
-
Nope- don't sound very good so I stuck to soup, tuna salad with light mayo and I ate small amounts of grilled fish which I chewed really well.
-
Also, I enjoy Soup so I stuck with Soups primarily
-
Do you like tuna salad? Just chop/ blend the tuna with light mayo. I started to eat fish in the mushy stage like dolphin and salmon because they are soft and I just took small bites and chewed really well. It wasn't exactly following the rules so I am not advising you but just telling you I tolerated it well. Your mouth breaks down food well if you chew 30+ times. Liver wurst is also soft or pâté

I am just under 3 weeks out and so nervous about calorie consumption! I seem to have good capacity to tolerate quantities and could see how I could eat high calorie counts. On liquids, I have 2 Protein shakes, Soup twice, and two Greek yogurts, and sometimes pudding so around 800-900 calories on just the liquids! Once I am back on solids, what will my calorie intake be? What should it be to lose weight? What stage are you (I.e. how long since sleeved) and what is you calorie intake?

What's your calorie intake?
Reigo replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone! Love hearing the cal counts and reassurance. I don't meet with the NUT for another week and a half so I will also ask about calorie recommendations. She's a pretty awful NUT though so its frustrating but she's a package deal with my doctor. -
How long was your hospital stay?
Reigo replied to LittleDooker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 overnight stays and I considered staying a third because of pain but decided I would be fine (surgery was Wednesday morning and was discharged Friday at 11am) -
Premier Protein Drinks Review - Chocolate
Reigo commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
EAS are isolate and concentrate combination, not pure isolate (I am drinking one at the moment and read the label. Isolate is first then concentrate. I will have to try premier! That's a lot of grams of protein and only 50 calories more. -
Pack a very light comfy sports bra or some easy comfy no underwire bra if you don't like being braless in a thin cotton hospital gown because you will be needing to walk the halls. I personally do not like being without bra and was fine wearing a cotton sports bra in hospital
