Flirting is all about confidence. Putting your hand on a guys arm, little gestures like that go a long way. You are beautiful, just hold your head high and exude what you feel inside. Lots of guys don't want a meek girl and may be shy themselves so you feeling good in your own skin and just friendly and carefree about it will go a long way. I LOVE the art of flirting but when my weight crept up, I don't feel good in my own skin and purposely don't flirt. I always viewed flirting like a fun game and loved how easy it was to get free drinks or just watch a guys reaction. Now I joke that I am semi- retired (but watch out when my weight is off!)

Self-pay and post-op problems
Reigo replied to laffypatty's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Confirm with your insurance but if they deny your surgery, post op complications are also not covered. -
I ate this twice this week because it's easy and delicious and ready in 5 minutes! Low carb tortilla wrap (50 calories) 3 teriyaki chicken meatballs by aidelas (Costco) (130 calories) Shredded cabbage or carrot matchsticks or bean sprouts or even the slaw mix (I even used broccoli slaw) or any combination together Chopped cilantro Chopped scallions Smear of hoisin sauce (20-40 calories depending how liberal you are) It's a good size portion so you ay not even finish it but if you do, it's only 200 calories. Meatballs come precooked so you microwave for 2 minutes but if you do dont have meatballs, you could use shredded chicken breast or left over rottiserie I warm the wrap just enough to take the chill off then fill with hot sliced meatballs (or shredded chicken) generous amount of raw shredded veggies and fresh cilantro and green onions and drizzle hoisin sauce. You can also substitute lettuce leaves for the wrap and save 50 calories and equally delicious and a bit lighter

Anyone not drinking protien shakes or eating protien bars?
Reigo replied to varg's topic in Food and Nutrition
I would think protein from natural food is better tan these highly processed proteins but have nothing to back that theory up. I love the premier protein shakes at Costco so that's my breakfast and 30 grams of protein. The rest is from fish, chicken, beans, Greek yogurt, cheese and nuts. Guess it depends on your calorie goals since I could easily go over 1200-1400 if I am not mindful of what I am eating so I like a self contained meal. -
Anyone else feel guilty about doing this?
Reigo replied to Bredred's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had similar guilt but for a different reason. I have a 4 year old and my weight was at 210 at 5'6" (size 16, l/xl) and I had no health issues (low cholesterol, great blood pressure and sugar fine) so I felt like I was risking my life by undertaking an elective surgery, which really was because I was just so sick of loosing and gaining and hating myself in a mirror! I kept thinking if I was the one stat that has complications and left my daughter with no mom, how horrible and selfish I am. I had to let go and put my faith in god and I am thankful I went through it! -
Increasing My Calorie Intake - Thoughts?
Reigo replied to FindingElise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was under the impression you lse slower if your calories are too low- that your metabolism slows down to compensate for such low calorie intakes (self preservation). I am 4 weeks out and at 800-1000 a day and am ok if my progress s slower (and hopefully I will have less loose skin or flab but I have nothing to ack this up) -
Wish I took a pre-op photo for "before" comparison

Wish I took a pre-op photo for "before" comparison
Reigo posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know it's not too late as I am only 4 weeks out but I wish I had taken a good pre op picture for true before after shots. I am only down around 20 pounds so it's not really too late in the grand scheme. Did anyone else regret not having a before pic? -
Came home with a new sleeve & a bad cold!
Reigo replied to 2notbwinded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your doctor- your stomach is swollen and sensitive! You don't know how meds will affect you right now. Remember, nothing with ibuprofen or aspirin but Tylenol is ok but still talk to the doc or nurse first -
Will be wishing you a speedy recovery!

I was stuck and now I gained 3 lbs... IM FREAKING OUT
Reigo replied to Ana87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am at 4 weeks and my weight went up 3 pounds too, then another week and I was wn the 3 plus 2 more. I fluctuate a lot. I went 196 to 198.5, then to 193.5 but today I was at 195. I am close to my menstral cycle so Im sure it's water weight but it sucks. I want to see big numbers and I am not. Considering how good I am eating, this shoud be a nobrainer but yet my body isn't moving as fast. We just need to keep doing the right thing and making good choices! -
So I can't attest to the surgery weight loss but I had lost 60 pounds naturally at 5'6" and 210 down to 150 and my shape stayed nicely proportionately pear, although I loose my boobs from D to small B. of course, I put the weight back on and decided to stop the yo-yo and do something more life changing. I am now 4 weeks out and down 20 and it's coming off evenly. Less back fat, flatter stomach, face thinned out. Boobs sadly filling out the D less too. Arms still ugly so might need to target them with exercise.

How soon post-op did you start excercising?!
Reigo replied to penguin13's topic in Fitness & Exercise
My doctor said 3 weeks for light moderate exercise -
Do you thinK that secretly he's insecure and is worried about what life will be like with the new thin you? Many men like to hold a women's insecurities against them to make them think that they could never do as good as them and that you should feel lucky to ave him. He may just worried and insecure and is sabatoging this for you. Explain this is for your health and your well being and if he loved you, he will support your decision! Besides, you can have some ice cream without him!

What's the Hardest Part?
Reigo replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Well I had a different but similar procedure called gastric plication with a highly rated and excellent doctor in Miami. The problem is, the procedure I had is newer and he only performs it at palmetto general in Hialeah, FL (which is less English speaking than Mexico!) and a horrible hospital in my opinion. Dr Sosa was great though and I ad no complications from the surgery itself. He does the sleeve and other wls at another hospital (which is where I had my daughter and is excellent) but just not my procedure yet! Reason I chose plication over sleeve was a few fold but it was also the only covered by my insurance as it treats acid reflux. I was 210, 5'6" and no medical issues at all (great sugar, cholesterol and BP and no apnea) AND there's no need to qualify or ave psych evaluations with plication! I paid the extra cost to have the stomach folded and sewn which cost $5,000 out of pocket on a $21,000 surgery. I would tell someone considering it to wait until Sosa operates at memorial west though based on my experience. -
Good luck! Remember how good you are going to look!

We were giving the same advice at the same time! Funny

Try the chicken Bryan (it's delicious) and instead of a side of pasta, get steamed veggies, lentil soup or chicken soup instead of cesar salad. It's still fattening but so good and probably better than pasta dish. Also re-op, I started getting a to go box quickly so I coud immediately pack away half my meal to avoid picking on it after I am satisfied.

Tanks for the lins! Very informative? I might actually be getting too much protein!

Wow, tats amazing you are satisfied with so little food. I need to eat 6-8 oz of food to feel full and I am only 4 weeks out. Like a 50 calorie pita round with tuna fish, tomatoes and spinach or a had a chicken breast and veggies. I wish I had a little smaller capacity though.
