    Learning to be this size...

Ouch! Jack... I just had surgery a couple days ago... You shouldn't make me laugh so hard I might bust a stitch or something!
  2. Have there been, or are there any guys out there that have had a TT or in guy land we could call it a GE (Gut Elimination) Tummy Tuck just doesn't fit into my vocabulary. I am hopeful that my Big 'ol Gut will amazingly shrink and I will not have a big saggy pannis. I am open to the fact that that may not happen and I may need some sort of "corrective" surgery. This would be a long way out, because I just got banded 3 days ago. Anyway, I was just curious to see if any guys had experience with this.

    Any guys out there?

What holster are you using for your C.H.? I just applied for my license here in TX and should have it in a couple weeks. I am going to carry a compact 9mm. I was just worried about finding a holster that would work practically for a large guy. Where do you usually conceal? This is the last topic I thought I would find here on LBT! Glad you brought it up!

    Contact Sports?

Hey Boomer... Isn't Ft. Bend County about to add on to their prison? I work for the company (Lowe Precast, Inc.) that is making the concrete walls for that facility. We are just getting ready to submit to the General Contractor for approval on our drawings. Pretty small world isn't it?

    Guy before/ after Picture

By the way... the before pics were taken the first day of my Pre-Op diet. I lost 25 lbs just in the 2 weeks before my surgery. I went from my peak of 400 lbs, to 375 lbs. I think I am in the 360's now but will not step on a scale again until Wednesday. That is when I see my Doc again.

  8. YEAH!!!!!!!!! Good for you. I am soo happy for you! Any idea of a time frame of when to get the band placed? I had mine done 3 days ago... I am feeling MUCH better today! Your surgery will be here before you know it. Get ready for the ride of your life! You will love it!

Thanks alot! I will give it a try...
  11. Is there a thread on how to post pictures? I did it the way that I am used to doing it on other forums and it did not work. Someone please instruct me in the ways of the wise... I know it seems like everybody on here has problems posting pictures and it sure would be nice to have a Sticky on the forums that explain this topic in detail.

Nobody knows how to post photos??? Bump
  13. I got banded yesterday. My doc likes to keep people in for a 23 hour observation. I stayed overnight. I am on a full liquid diet already, but have not had the "guts" to try the full liquid yet. I am still on Jello and chicken broth. By the way, I posted a couple pages back that Cigna actually has 15 business days to approve... NOT the 30 that they probably told you. BE the squeeky wheel! They will give in if you have fulfilled your part and your keep bugging them about it. Call Call Call... Keep a phone log of whom you spoke to, and a brief outline of what was said. You can use it as a tool later down the road if you need to use it against them. Hope this helps.

    I got the band!

I cant believe that it is actually on my stomach! I have 4- .5 to .75 inch scars and one scar that is about 3 in. or so long. I got home this morning about 11 am. took some painkiller and some phenegrin and it knocked me out cold! My blood pressure went through the roof in recovery and I think it kinda scared the med. staff. It eventually came down though. Boy last night was a rough one... I cant stand sleeping sitting up. I would wake up about every 20 min. to reposition. I am feeling off and on nauseous. I will post up some scar pics in the appropriate forum. I dont think the foot pumps facilitated good rest either. Oh well, I am about to fall asleep now so I better get off the key board before something like this (kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk) happens! LOL Oh that hurts! I will post more later... Craig
  15. Give or take a few days... I started my 6 mo. observation on may 9th. My last doc's visit was Nov 7th. two days shy of six months. By the way, I got my approval 2 days after submittal on the 9th of nov. I did not miss a single appt with my doc and I jumped through ALL their red hoops!

    Will it hurt anything?

Lose all you can but be cautious to not dip below 40 BMI. Insurance companies are sticklers out there and will sometimes can you if you go below 40 by the time you submit for approval.

    Tomorrow is the day

Oh... Then you MUST take time to go visit this Christmas season. Get down to Granbury and take a walk around the historic part of town. You will fall in love with it. I promise! There is a store on the square called the De' Vine Winery. It is a great little wine store. They also make their own wine there. WOW... I am rambling again.

    Tomorrow is the day

After many hoops and tons of red tape, I can't believe that I am going to have surgery tomorrow! I am kinda worried about going under but I have done it before and I know I will do just fine. I guess this is just the "night before jitters" Have any of you experienced similar things the night before? If so, is there anything to do to get rid of them? Is whiskey considered a clear liquid? I sure could go for a crown and coke about now! HOLY COW that sounds good now that I think of it! Anyway... I am probably just making myself more worked up by writing it all down. Plus, I am trying to get done anything that is going to have to be lifted in the next month since I cant lift after I get cut on. My wife is about to pop a little boy out of her tummy so she cant lift either. I brought in the Christmas tree this evening and set it up for us. Ok, I am going to stop rambling now... I am just getting worked up!

    Tomorrow is the day

I am from Waco. West side Ft. Worth is my old stompin' grounds though. I know that part of town like the back of my hand. My surgeon is Dr. Gayland Sims, here in Waco. I grew up about 30 miles SW of Ft. Worth. A little lake town. I bet you know the one I am talking about.

In Your 20's And Had Surgery?

Hey, I am being banded on the 28th too! You getting excited yet? Man, I am just ready for this to be done. The anticipation is getting to me........ P.S. Just curious, what is your pre-op regimen/diet like? I'm on 2 slim-slow's and a healthy choice dinner/every day. I have found some Soups and things here and there that I can have to help fill me up.

    My Worst Fat Day EVER!

Wow, I had one of those bad fat days last month. (I am scheduled to get banded on Nov. 28th.) I traded a guy a VW beetle (old school) for his 1970 VW bus... While attempting to get it up on the trailer, I dropped something and had to bend over to get it! Well i know you think you know where this is going but it is not. The back of my shorts did not rip ( I would have been ok with that) The FRONT of my shorts just split from waist to the bottom hem! Thats right, THE FRONT! Well, being a guy... ya know things kinda move around and try to get FREE!!! WELL, needless to say, I am glad I had on a LONG T-shirt. This company has the best long T's out there for us guys that have extra length to cover up back there! Here is a link. Duluth trading co. This all happened at my max of 400 lbs! I am well on my way down now. Can't wait!

In Your 20's And Had Surgery?

Well, I saw this thread and just had to post. Technically, I am in my twenties. I am getting the band on wednesday, Nov. 28. That is just 10 days before I turn 30! So, I havn't had the band yet, but I will be banded in my 20's. (just not for very long...LOL) Anyway, I can not wait to get the band and get things worked out to the "sweet-spot". I have lost 20 lbs pre-op... I can't imagine what I am going to lose once I get restriction and am fully recovered so I can really work out! I have about 200 lbs. to lose and I plan on working my tush off to get it off too! I have had mild bouts of depression here and there and I think the healthier me will be rid of this for good!
