Their crime rates were low to start with. After gun control laws, their crime rates jumped up! That it happens to be the same crime rate as USA is coincidence. You have to look at where they started. England: According to the BBC News, handgun crime in the United Kingdom rose by 40% in the two years after it passed its draconian gun ban in 1997.

Does $17,000 Seem too High for this surgery??????
TxArcher replied to JaxFab44's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here in Waco, TX, the doc charges $14000 for self pay. I almost had to go that route, but my insurance ended up working out for me! -
I also want to say that I was OFF my narcotic pain killers when I drove. You MUST keep in mind that if you are on narcotics and have a wreck... YOU WILL BE PROSECUTED! If someone dies... that is called intoxication manslaughter! you do not want to be caught up in that! I had a friend that this happened to. He missed PRISON by the hairs of his chin! Think very carefully please.

I was pretty sore riding in a car even 5 days out. My wife drove me to work and all out to 1 week post op. If you have slept off ALL your anesthetics... I guess you would be ok. I was still sleeping very soundly all day out to 3 days because my anesthetics. If your SIL just lives 20 min. away can she have someone drive her there and you 2 could drive back together.

I have another one today... I was looking for a shirt to wear today and I saw one stashed WAY back in the closet. This is a shirt I bought back in college and only wore for a short time because I was gaining weight. I did Atkins 3 yrs ago and got to wear it for about a month then. WELL... Today I am proud to say that I am wearing a shirt that I haven't really worn for over 8 years! I can't believe that things are happening so quickly! BTW, for all those fashion guru's out there... I try to buy clothes that are "timeless" this shirt still looks like it is in style... But not that I care. I have been wearing fat-boy pants from Wally-world for years!

November Nymphs Lets Talk Weight Loss!
TxArcher replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When I voted on Nymph in the November Name Poll, I was thinking about the insect form of Nymph. I forgot about the Mythological reference. I was wondering why everybody had those lil wing-ed ladies on their sig line. I suppose I will have to get a nice picture of a grub worm or something!:heh: -
November Nymphs Lets Talk Weight Loss!
TxArcher replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Cindy. Just found this thread. I will chime in too! Banded on 11-28. From my max weight at start of my pre-op diet I am down 40 lbs. Have lost 20 since Sx. I have held steady at 360 for a week now. I plan to make that scale move again when I go in for my first fill on 1-2-08. I might have a chance to weigh at the docs office next week, but not sure. It is going to drive me crazy going 2 weeks between weigh-in's. Here's to a new year and a great Play-off season! Go BOYZ! -
What insurance do you have? I went through Cigna.

No... Now don't freak out when I say this... OK? I don't watch the cowboy games. I listen to them on the radio. Ya see... I do not own a Television. My wife and I think that it is better for our family not to have one in the house. We watch DVD's on the computer if we want to watch something. I may go over to Buffalo Wild Wings though. I have some buddies that can't get the game either. I may meet up with them for the game. GO BOYZ!!!
-
Oh yeah Cindy, Aren't you scheduled for a Jan. 2nd fill too? I just got mine changed to that date because of an extended trip out of town. It will be interesting to see how we both do!
-
Yea, I weighed in on Wednesday... No change in the scale from last week, but I have definitely shrunk! my old pants just fall off of me and that was not the case last week! They are officially retired for ever! Ya know, I am doing alright with the sleep thing. My wife only wakes me up about once each night. The lil guy is only feeding once in the night already.:notagree I hope that stays like that! Of course last night I was putting my 3 yr. old down and he said he wanted to snuggle:) That was about 8 pm. Well, about 11 pm I woke up! I suppose I was a little tired. Then it was off to the store to pick up some pads for the wife... she was almost out! Oh well, I guess there are worse things in life! Boy do I know it! ROMO stinks when he has to impress a woman! He must have dropped his books alot in Jr. High school! The BOYZ will get back on track for week 16 and 17. Then its a bye! We will meet you at the Super Bowl!!!

Yep... check out the plastic surgery forum. I think the thread is called "Next step in finding the real me" Here is the link. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f12/next-step-finding-real-me-45384/ Us guys are calling it G.E. (Gut Elimination) instead of Tummy Tuck. That just sounds too girlish. No offense gals! Welcome to the LBT forums! If you have any questions, just shoot me a private message.

Dr. Sims has done over 100 band placements now. I was somewhere around 100. He is a very knowledgeable surgeon, with over 30 years experience. I have had no problems with him at all. Yes... he is out of network with all insurances, but his fee is not $10,000. I pre-paid him $3,500 and will get 80% of that back real soon. As soon as my insurance cuts me a check. If your from the Waco area, don't hesitate to go see him. The man knows what he is doing.

Congratulations... I was on my pre-op diet at Thanksgiving. I just had a spoonful of several different things. Just to get the taste, ya know. Welcome to the band wagon.

I just got my first fill date changed today. It was 1/9 but I am leaving out for a long business trip on the 10th and didn't want to be on the road just after my first fill. I got it bumped up a week to the 2nd of January. That is one less week of this hunger... hopefully. Maybe I will get lucky and get good restriction right off the bat.

Sorry... i just had to add one more reply to this thread to throw it over the 100 reply mark! I LOVE THIS THREAD!

So... I finally have some NSV's. - Buddy at work yesterday tells me that there is a big difference since he started here. He started 2 days before my Sx, he didn't even see me at my max weight. - I had to buy new jeans the other day. Size 48 instead of 54! - Speaking of jeans... I got into some old 46 waist jeans!!! Still a tad too tight though - I just realized this morning that I have not had PIZZA in over a month! Ya know what? I don't miss that feeling of eating an entire large pizza in one sitting! And what happens the next day.

None of Wally World's shirts used to fit me. That is why I never bought them there. I suppose I can fit in them now!

Holly,
Update your signature! the last date on your progress is 12-4. I know your doing great... FLAUNT IT!

I will go in for another weigh-in tomorrow at my surgeon's office. I cant wait to see what I have lost this week! I only weigh every Wednesday.

Oh... by the way... OOPS! Those Eagles stuck it to the Boyz! Oh well... -
Well, I had to break down and buy a new pair of jeans yesterday. I am wearing them today! My old slacks and jeans were a waist size 54 and these are a 48 waist! They feel great and look decent too. The best part... Wally World has finally added some fashionable jeans to the fat boy rack! They were only 10 dollars. Once I get to size 44, they will drop to $8!!! Cant wait to wear 8 dollar jeans. I will get some name brand jeans once I am a bit closer to my goal.

Hey Chris, I have my own belt of progress now. I noticed just last night that I am on the last hole on my belt and the thing still slips over my former huge butt! I just had to buy some new jeans yesterday too. Thank God for Wally World! $10 jeans and they look decent. I am not going to buy good jeans till I am close to goal. These are 48x30. I have to make due with high waders 'till I can get into a 44 waist. They start making 32 inseams at that waist size. And they go down in price by 2 bucks! SO... $8 jeans to progress with my belt... Times are sweet! Gonna have to buy me a leather hole punch soon so I can continue the "legend of the belt" WooHoo!!!
